I stayed here for the first time and found it one of the nicer Ibis hotels. Good sized rooms and more spacious bathrooms than is often the norm. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will be using it again. Tip: Car Parking. The car park is about 20m before the hotel entrance and is easily missed, if you are unfamiliar with the area, resulting in a long detour in a one-way system. Also if coming from the east turn right immediately after the hotel, towards a large multi storey car park. U-turn in a quiet road and come out again at the traffic lights and the car park is almost immediately opposite. Again this avoids a long detour in the one-way system.
We stayed one night at this hotel on the way to Southern Germany. The hotel is perfectly located near the city centre. Rooms are basic but meet all requirements. The airconditioning was welcome, even on the front side of the hotel the rooms are completely silent and the breakfastt was great. We used the underground parking which was secured so we could leave most if our luggage in the car. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only minor comment is that the menu choice is very limited (basically soups), but given the approximity of restaurants in the area this shouldn't be a problem.
The hotel staff was friendly, I wasn't thrilled with the parking, (no one gave me a special coin to exit the car park even though they knew I had a car so I was stuck on the ramp while trying to go to my meetings, I scratched the rental car on the pillar when trying to maneuver into the tiny space upon arrival). The breakfast was okay, the selection was great considering the price, but the quality of the juices, fruits, vegetables and pastries left much to be desired. (not a really big deal for me, honestly). The real problem was wifi. The page of 4 days worth of 24 hour ids/passwords that was given to me did not address the need I had for multiple devices. The wifi was so slow, I asked to move rooms upon arrival in my first room, which they did happily but in doing so they warned it wouldn't get that much better ("everyone complains"...really? so everyone complains, yet no one fixes it?). When I did connect, I had to re-login EVERY time I timed out, so if I wanted to check my email an hour at 2am (or after timeout), I had to turn on the light, find my glasses, look at the tiny printout of randomly generated letters and numbers and reconnect. Argh! I thought it was good for 24 hours???!! Then wait until the bits and bytes showed up at a snail's pace. Facebook was unusable altogether, any graphically modern site, forget it. As I was an international traveler, wifi is important to keep roaming charges down. Get a clue. Get a freaking clue. Nice people, comfortable room despite the small monitor they used for a TV. No entertainment channels in English, only news. Wouldn't have been an issue if the wifi worked.
Heilbronn is a nice town, no need to insist on it. If You want to visit the town or for your business visits, if you need a reference point in the heart of the town, near the railway station, near to a residential area and in near distance of a park and leisure area, this is the hotel for You. In the typical functional and essential style though offers to You all possible helps and assistance for any of Your need. Except restaurant, but you can find a lot nearby. Friendly personnel, quiet location, all services. When I visited the hotel the first time, approx one year before, some levels were having maintenance. Now works were completed and well done. Didn't notice something out of order or dirty corners at all, everything good and clean. Price affordable.
