Unhelpful, aggressive and angry receptionist

No room upgrade or improvement to either of the two rooms booked was offered despite gold and ALL plus Voyageur membership (the hotel was quite busy though). No notification that there would be no hot water on the first morning of our stay, despite the hotel being aware there would be an issue, which meant in both rooms we spent a long time trying to get hot water. The attitude at reception when my father inquired as to if there was a problem with the water was not initially sympathetic. But the biggest issue was I asked if I could get a late check out of one of the rooms using the gold membership. I was told no, firstly that this was because they were fully booked. I politely pointed out that I knew that they were not fully booked, and was then told they had rooms but I still couldn't check out any later. I politely asked why and the receptionist became angry and aggressive. I asked why they were being aggressive, which just angered them more so I left. We didn't get a late check out so my father had to take his regular medications in a busy cafe instead.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The staff are courteous, polite and helpful. Rooms very well presented and equipped to a high standard. Breakfast is perfect and features local specialities. Located just a couple of minutes from the railway station so that Milan is within easy reach and 'Citta Alta' of Bergamo itself also close by. Always strongly recommended.

We did not have the best experience as we had to change bedroom 3 times: first time because the window wasn't closing properly, 2nd time because the toilets were not clean and the flush didn't work, and the 3rd time because the lock of the door was completely destroyed. The only person at the reception at that time wasn't particularly apologetic and quite slow to help us find a solution. In the end, they did a commercial gesture but that was on our request, and it won't make up for the one hour we lost trying to find a proper room.
