Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Perfect Hotel for a Weekend-Trip"

29th March 2012, Glattbrugg

Hotel is in easy walking distance to the main shopping street and the stop of the airport bus (747).Very friendly and professional welcome/check-in. Rooms are clean and spacious.Style of the rooms and TV could be a little bit more modern.Restaurant / bar is very good with great staff and high quality of food/drinks.Would recommend this hotel to friends.

Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Hotel, eat dinner out"

16th March 2012, HarmonyWestAustralia, West Australia

We had a wonderful stay, could not fault anything, but would advise not eating dinner/supper at the hotel. We found it VERY expensive & not enough variety. If you like upmarket silver service fancy French cuisine - then you couldn't fault it - service was amazing, I have no doubt the food was first class, just not to our taste. Breakfast was great.

Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile: 5.0 out of 5 stars "A Sofitel Convert!"

16th February 2012, Los Angeles, California, USA

This was my first stay ever at a Sofitel and it was nearly perfect. We had the American breakfast included and the food at Renoir was great, as was the service. We also had dinner at Renoir and the tasting menu was spot on. Kudos to the Sofitel for having a coffee spread in the lobby at 5am for us early risers since there are no coffee makers in the room. Well done Sofitel Montreal!

Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Ideal location, ideal accommodation"

20th September 2011, Boisdulac

Location: the Golden Mile, arguably the nicest district in Montreal, with lots of shops, bars, restaurants and pubs (personal recommendation: the Indian restaurant Taj round the corner, the Mexican restaurant down Peel St.). The first of the underground malls is one block away; the Mont Royal park is a 5-minute (steep) walk up Peel St. The riverside is around 20 minutes walk away, or you can take the metro. Another personal recommendation: the excellent botanical gardens, around 10 metro stops away (Pie IX) on the green line.Room: we went for the deluxe king bed room, and we were not disappointed in the least. The room itself is huge, with a very big bed and a luxury toilet. The air conditioning is impossible to hear; we slept better than in any other hotel in our Canada stay.Service: the service is impeccable, either in the bar (where we enjoyed our welcome drinks) or the restaurant for the breakfast (which is excellent and well worth the price in my opinion, whether you go for the American or the continental). We stayed one night on our way to Toronto on the 9th, and then two nights on our way back from Quebec (14th or 15th). For some reason the booking for the second stay seemed to have gone missing (even if we received the booking confirmation 'we are expecting you' mail while we were in the hotel on the 9th), so I would advise triple-checking your booking just in case. Anyway, the staff was very polite and after a 10-minute wait comfortably installed in the lobby, everything was back to normal and we got our room. We were allowed a nice late check-out on our last afternoon in the city, and the hotel offered to keep the bags for us until it was time to take a taxi for the airport. In summary, a stay to remember, well worth the price! (especially taking into account the relatively high prices of lesser options).

Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Service on the Golden Mile"

11th August 2011, dggreer, Pennington, New Jersey, USA

My spouse and I have visited Montreal several times. Typically we stay at another top hotel. We chose Sofitel because of prior dining with the new Executive Chef ,Olivier Perret, who just move from Sofitel Washington,DC (ICI Urban Bistro). We are happy we did. Management and staff are warm, responsive, and professional. Our suite was spacious, comfortable and well kept. Chef Olivier prepared some special, delicious small dishes for us. He will update the menu, soon. Based on his prior success, dining at Renior and Le Bar will be an even better hit. We look forward to returning soon.

Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Relaxing weekend in a luxury hotel"

3rd January 2011, ParisTraveler58, New York, NY

Can't say enough good things about the Sofitel in Montreal - the location is perfect (close to museums and downtown) and the service is too. The doormen, front desk folks and the concierge were all very friendly and helpful. The bed is the most comfortable ever - had trouble getting up every morning!

Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Highly recommended"

1st December 2010, Toronto

Top notch in every way.Right on Montreal's 'Fifth Avenue' and less than a five-minute walk to the Museum of Fine Arts, the business district, McGill University and the foot of Mount Royal.

Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Mostly fantastic"

16th November 2010, Toronto

This is a very elegant and well done hotel. It is expensive but there are a lot of luxurious details. My only three issues are:1) There are no windows that open in the rooms so you are at the mercy of the ventilations system and I found the room fluctuated between being too cold and too hot. 2) Our room rate included breakfast and both days we had issues with things being added to our bill by the restaurant that were supposed to be included. It took a lot of extra time at check out to sort it all out.3) Our room was supposed to be paid by the corporate card that was used when making the online reservation. I asked at check-in if the room charges could stay on that card and that I would leave a separate card for incidentals. They said this was possible but in the end it was not. It became a big hassle for both us and the front desk staff to sort all that out.
