Easy to find hotel near the airport. Shares a car park with the IBIS. Room ok, quiet with window closed. Toilet and washroom very tight. Breakfast adequate- not a lot of choice though. We wanted to explore Luxembourg City and managed to obtain a very useful map from the IBIS next door. Could not find one at the budget hotel-not even on the wall. It was quite an easy and quick journey into the city.
We had to stay one night in Luxembourg, and it is a very expensive city/country. For the same price you could easily stay in a high-standart hotel anywhere else. Not easy to reach, there is a free shuttle from/to the airport but you have to call them in advance. From the train station bus n: 29 goes to the hotel. The rooms are not in good shape. The toilet's ventilation was very bad.The breakfast was poor.I won't stay there again
The hotel is well positioned for the airport and check in at all hours is very handy if you have an early or late flight. The room (4 person family room) had 2 single beds pushed together under a single bunk bed plus an extra bunk bed with 2 single beds on top of each other in as alcove. There is a shower with glass door off the bedroom and sink in the bedroom, plus a WC behind a solid door with separate light. Very happy to recommend for a one night stay.
Arrived at the hotel, the receptionist tried to get me pay what I already paid online! The beds were comfortable, but the rooms are a bit small (our room was for three, but we were in two and there was already a lack of space). The hotel's location is convenient for the proximity to the airport, but remains far enough away from the center of Luxembourg City (about 8 km). Ok: clean rooms and comfortable beds. Not ok: a few staff members who do not speak English and the value of breakfast (€ 7.50 per person for a very limited choice of food).
Really basic hotel with small rooms located near the airport which means a slight smell of planes' fuel. Given the rate however, good hygiene and convenient transport to the city center - bus 9 just in front of the hotel and bus 16 500 m away in front of the airport, the hotel worths definitely considering. It suited my needs just for having a sleep there without paying crazy cash.
The hotel is very much a step down from the regular Ibis standard. The price was 70 Eur per night for a very basic room, with no breakfast included. Hotels are not cheap in Luxembourg, but regarding value for money the Ibis budget was very bad. In fairness the room was clean and the staff competent. I would definitely not stay there again if I had any choice.
The first impression of the room is very much summed up by the word 'Budget' from the hotel's name, and the corridors remind me of the "it'll do" decor of the Formule 1 chain, but once you're in, the rooms are very practical; substance over style. Nothing is particularly new, but everything is clean, and works. Our booking for a 4-bed room actually turned out to be a 5-bed room, with two twin beds under a bunk bed, alongside the shower and toilet units in the main part of the room. Then, there were two bunk beds in a spartan annex section round the corner, which helped us to be able to spread out. I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort level of the beds (far better than the Travelodge we'd used in the UK the night before), and despite being bang opposite the airport, we didn't hear a single plane take off or land, so the sound insulation is clearly working well. The TV offers a wide selection of channels from France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, UK and the US. The staff at check-in (which takes place in the main Ibis hotel next door, not the Ibis Budget block) were very pleasant and conversational (French being the predominant language from my experience). Parking is ample and free (we got a space right outside the entrance door) and a bus service into (and out of) Luxembourg City runs from right outside the hotel, every 15 mins during the daytime, then hourly in the evenings until around 1am. Single tickets cost 2 euros, or a day ticket (valid until 8am the day after you buy it) cost 4 euros. An Aral petrol station, two minutes down from the hotel towards the city, sells the cheapest diesel I've ever found in mainland Europe, which was a major plus with a nearly empty tank!
