"disappoint with the service"
21st November 2012, s6liu, London, United Kingdom
the condition for this hotel is good ,like the location the facility and so on .But I really disappointed with the service for this hotel .I forgot the glasses when i left the hotel .And agreed I would back in next 2 days to pick up it by myself .However, when i came to pick up .they said i picked the glasses and nobody wanted to double check ..They only told me ,i dont know ,you picked it up .wow,it was not here ! After 3 mins disputes, one man went to the back table to found the glasses ! it's really joking , I think they got the responsibility to keep and hand it to customers, right ? Even they were not busy at that moment ,no others came to check in or check out !

Management responseDear s6liu,We are very much appreciate your review regarding your stay at the Novotel Budapest Centrum. Happy to read that in general you were satisfied with the hotel and the location as well. On the other hand, we are very sorry that you found the service disappointing. According to the information we have received from the reception staff, the only reason they did not find your glasses immediately but after 3 minutes is that you agreed with the staff to come back 2 days earlier than you actually did. However, after clarifying the situation they gave you the glasses since our practice is – as you mentioned – to keep the guests’ belongings for them, of course. For this misunderstanding let us express our sincerest apologies and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.Kind regards,Team of the Novotel Budapest Centrum

"Beautiful Restaurant/Breakfast room."
14th August 2012, bilcar31, Dublin Ireland
We found this hotel to be clean and friendly. The hotel has a beautiful Breakfast/restaurant room which dates back to when the hotel was built in 1911. The food at Breakfast in the Restaurant was excellent. We had a problem with the wi-fi in our room (449) the signal was so weak that it kept disconnecting, at one stage I had to log on 7 times in 15 minutes. So check the Wi-fi before settling in.

"A lovely art deco hotel"
28th May 2012, Melanie000, London, England
This is a lovely art deco hotel in the heart of Pest. I was there for a conference and it had great facilities. The area isn't that scenic in the evening in comparison to the Castle district but quite centrally located.

"Excellent"
11th April 2012, Nasice
I give this hotel 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone. Especially would like to mention chef and his skills, my wife and I planned to eat out and try various restaurants in Budapest but the food in this hotel was above any expectations so we ended up returning to its fine and very nicely Art Nouveau dining hall. Although menu does not provide much variety, what is on it would satisfy even the pickiest food connoisseurs and wine chart, again not long, but excellent. Service was Excellent as well. Hotel is within walking distance of most important sites in Budapest and reception personnel will gladly help you and explain how to find your way around, and at the reception you can buy tickets to most Budapest tours and tourist attractions. This proximity to city center ( it is in Rakoczy street) is blessing and curse because of loud police and ER sirens ( that might be the loudest I ever heard anywhere) that disturbed our sleep a bit but this is not something hotel management can do anything about, thus 4 stars to Sleep Quality but again, if it wasn't for this, 5 stars. Hotel doesn't have its own parking space but next building has paying public parking garage ( and hotel entrance to it ) thus 4 stars to Value. But if you are staying less than 5 days it is acceptable. In any way, highly recommended and I must say this was my most enjoyable stay in a hotel ever, there isn't single thing I can say bad about hotel and its staff. My wife and I are thinking of returning to it again.

We would like to thank you very much for leaving such a nice words about the skills of our executive chef and his team. Please, rest assure that comments will be forwarded to them. Unfortunately, our downtown location can mean extra street activity, as much as we try to contain it. We sincerely regret the disturbance of the noise. Your review will encourage us all to continue on a high level that is expected from Novotel Budapest Centrum. We would be happy to welcome you back soon.Kind regards,Team of Novotel Budapest Centrum

"Good hotel in Budapest"
4th February 2012, Augusta_C, New York City, New York
We had a long weekend in Budapest, and this hotel was fine for it- no frills but pretty good location and nice room. It could do with a little maintenance- the carpets are a little old, but aside from that we were very pleased. We asked for a cot in the room which was brought promptly and with no fuss. The only negative was that the car park was very expensive, and this was not mentioned at the time of booking- it's not run by Novotel but independent, and had we known the price we probably would have come by train not driven.

Management responseDear Augusta_C,Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay on TripAdvisor. We are happy to hear that your family enjoyed our family friendly services, the room with baby cot. We are very thankful for your comments concerning the carpet. We will pay more attention on the condition of it. Concerning the parking possibility, unfortunately the hotel has not got own parking places therefore our guest could live their cars at the street and in the public parking house next to the hotel, as you mentioned. Both of them are payable in this district. As a family traveler you can take a lot of advantages at Budapest like the family pass for transportation and family ticket in museums, spas for discounted price. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back soon!Your Sincerely,Novotel Budapest Centrum

"usual Novotel standards with a beautifully restored Art Nouveau restaurant"
1st September 2011, Manchester
booked into an executive room and was pleased to find that all food and drink was 20% off! Rooms were like every other Novotel hotel room you have been in - so no surpises there. What is different about this Novotel is that it has a spectacular Art Nouveau Restaurant that has been beutifully restored. I think the Hotel should make more of this as it was a bit empty on the 2 nights we dined there. The food was traditional Hungarian - tasty and hearty. The facade of the old part of the Hotel is also an Art Nouveau gem

"Good hotel"
14th August 2011
I have been in Budapest from 8 to 11 of August 2011. I've stayed at this hotel. Very good location near metro station (30m) , super market just opposite the hotel, pharmacy (just in case). The room price is ok but everything else in the hotel is very expensive. Good facilities, free internet corner and free wifi in the rooms, free jacuzzi and sauna. The girls in the fitness room are amazing....especially the blondy one!!!! Very friendly staff, they are trying to help you....expensive breakfast but the supermarket which is opposite the hotel has everything you need and very cheap. Staff who work at the bar are very helpful and friendly.....

"Great hotel, not so great location"
9th August 2011, chicago
This hotel is amazing from the lobby and very nice and clean. The rooms are small but fine. The service is very, very professional. During this trip I was in and out of Budapest three times and found this location to be not ideal, but it was closer to the things i wanted to see downtown than the Novotel Congress. It is close to the main train station and other public transportation, but other sites are not really walkable.

"VERY SATISFIED"
20th June 2011, Robbo05, Melbourne, Australia
Recently renovated in one of Budapests lovely old buildings including dinning room, said to be over 100 years old. Great workable and free wi fi in room, or business centre. The only negative was the square European pillow (I know they have these in every European hotel) but I find the rectangular pillow easier to use and more comfortable.

"Good value hotel"
24th January 2011, Stockholm
I recommend this hotel for families with children; try the executive room, it is a very good value as it includes all movie channels for free
"Ver good value"
18th January 2011, Sydney Australia
Location good - abut 600 metres from the Keleti Station and a similar distance to the Danube. Both easy walks. Two negative comments - we would have loved to have been able to cool the room down. We opened the windows were in the room we had looking into the courtyard which was fine but in the better room facing the road, it was too noisy to keep the windows open. The other comment is that the lights were very dim which made reading difficult. The positives were the location, the free internet and computers (up-to-date and fast) and very good value.
