"Close to airport but impossible to sleep"
14th May 2012, ELO_Australia_Travel, Sydney
I arrived on a late evening flight from Melbourne and because all the other hotels were extremely expensive that day I opted for the F1. I've been there before and knew it wasn't the best choice but - what the heck. The room was clean and until I tried sleeping things weren't bad. But........as soon as I tried sleeping I noticed that the mattress was just about 8cm high and the springs were directly in my back. I haven't had the feeling of mattress at all. This was the worst bed I ever tried sleeping in. After two hours trying to find rest, I decided to remove the "spare bed" mattress and put it on top of my mattress. Although it got softer now it was terribly dusty. Nope, the F1 at Brisbane Airport will not see me again. I'd rather spend double and sleep well.
"Basic at best, but maybe that's what you need?"

In comparison to many, but not all motels located close to Brisbane Airport, yes, the Forumlae 1 is reasonably cheap and maybe that's all you're looking for. Cab fare from the domestic terminal is approximately $20 to $25 including airport surcharge. The rooms are small and exceptionally basic however they're also quite clean with a bed of reasonable comfort (I prefer a hard mattress). The bathroom, again, while being basic and pokey, was clean too.As I arrived reasonably late, check-in was via an automated touchscreen at the front door, while I personally had no issue with its operation (being of a recent vintage) a few older couples who arrived in front of me struggled through an ordeal of unresponsive touchscreen, counter-intuitive menus and anunfortunate a mis-spelling of their name taken when booking. If you book at the Formulae 1 and are after nothing more than a bed for the night before catching a flight, then it will suit you well, after all this is what the chain is tailored for but don't expect a comfortable room that you can relax in and explore Greater Brisbane while on holiday.I personally do not recommend this motel only because I've been fortunately enough to find a Budget Motel of cheaper tarriff approximately 5 minutes further away from the airport that has great service and far bigger and more comfortable rooms, which I typically stay at if not booked out.
"Could do with some maintenance"
23rd April 2012, SCH_Phantom, Melbourne, Australia
As long as you are just after a bed for the night this is OK, just. The bed was the highlight of the hotel. If you don't have a car there is nothing within reasonable walking distance for food other than the vending machines. The whole place looked like it was struggling for cleaning and maintenance, several fittings in the room were broken.
"Great overnight stay."

We stayed overnight to be close to the airport. Great location, clean rooms and efficient staff. Small rooms but adequate for overnight or couple of nights for closeness to airport or city.
"Formula One Brisbane Airport"
3rd April 2012, Brisbane, Australia
Well located for access to airport.Arrived late at night after closure of reception but entry kiosk was easy to use and experienced no problems. A budget motel was all that was required for a sleep with no frills. Not fancy but adequate. Room with a queen bed and a single above was good for us as we were travelling with our daughter. Sometimes hard to find a motel which sleeps three.Price was very competitive.
"bad service"
29th March 2012, bororen
we orderd a bus to take us to our flight and was told all was good our flight book in was at six am we ended up having to get a taxin as it was we only just made our flight if you are going to tell some one that you have orderd the bus transfer perhaps they should check up on that we were not happy and it was not a good start to our trip
"Never AGAIN!"
24th March 2012, Adelaide, Australia
1) Check-in: Receptionist absolutly des-interested. 2) Cleanlyness: Bath-Shower curtain soiled, discoloured; tiles broken, mouldy Toilett stained & had to be cleaned by us. Room:- Bed linen soiled, we used our own. Very noisy due to Highway proximity. Breakfast room: Mikro-wave interior so dirty, was only cleaned after 3 days when complained. (Photographic evidence available)
"Excellent location"

Formule1 at Brisbane Airport is so well located to Brisbane airport. The rooms are very quiet, clean and adequate. Don't know what we would do without it.
"Never again"
18th March 2012, Brisbane, Australia
This was my first stay in any Formule 1. Located next to Novotel which is twice the cost of this. That's and the proximity to the airport is the only plus rest all is negative. Don't get fooled by their claims on their website. Check in is by a kiosk with a horrible touch screen(C'mon this is an era of NFC). Had my takeaway dinner with me so decided to have it the lobby as there was seating arrangement there. Felt as if I was sitting next to a garbage truck. Poorly illuminated and stinky.Rooms are smaller than the smallest. After keeping our three carry on bags on the floor(we did not had check in luggage); we could not walk in the room.Rooms stink. Bed sheets stink. Horrible mattress. My son slept as he was tired. Me and my wife could not. Saw a window AC after many years. Could not locate the remote hence could not adjust the temperature. No knobs on AC???.Fortunately we stayed in the room for only 5 hours. Next time I will rather spent extra 100-150 AUD and stay in descent accommodation. Free parking is another plus if you bother.
"Could not get into the "Night Entry System""
14th March 2012, Burleigh Waters, Australaia
Pre-booked and paid for the room, for a 0220 hrs after hours arrival. I was given a "reservation number" to punch into the night entry system. The system would accept the number, and I had to get a taxi at 0300 hrs in the morning to take me home,- cost $AUD300.Never again will I caught in this scam.
"Room Complaint"
26th February 2012, Brisbane, Australia
The room was so small that the bed was pushed against the wall on one side so to leave the bed I had to crawl out. To watch the TV you had to sit on the bed with your back to the wall. The wall that the bed was pushed against lead to the main stairway so when people where coming and going I was woken continuously. I have stayed in a number of Formula One's and have never been given such a poor excuse for a room. WE WILL NOT BE BACK
"Cheap and close to airport"
26th February 2012, Sydney, Australia
Better to stay an extra five minutes away at a motel that has more than just a bed in your room. For the extra $40 you could have a proper motel room, not a dog box.. Great if you only want to be there for a few hrs I guess.
"Convenient overnight"
19th February 2012, Maroochydore, Australia
Good convenient location to Brisbane airport. If wanting a cost effective one night stay, it is good value and recommended particularly if travelling solo. I wasn't flying on this ocassion but a meeting nearby. There is a good quick continental breakfast available in the morning.
"Next time I will sleep in my rental car!!"
15th February 2012, Pleasanton, California, USA
The room was only big enough to hold the bed, the carpet looked as if it were never cleaned, there were bugs squished on the walls, the light fixture was falling off, the only food available has to be delivered unless you want to eat out of vending machines. I prepaid for the breakfast but was afraid to eat it after seeing the condition of the rest of the hotel.
"A place to sleep"
6th February 2012, Bowral
This property is within an industrial area but only minutes from Brisbane Airport. Noisy traffic and Air Con but clean, safe and very convenient location for just needing a bed while transiting the airport.
"Nothing to eat"
24th January 2012, Armidale
None of the vending machines were working and the nearest food supply was several kms away - having just walked the 6.5 kms from the airport, was not about to go out searching again - so dissapointing that nothing was availble or nearby.
"A clean, bare-bones solution for an early flight"
9th January 2012, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
The price was right but the double room was so tiny we could hardly get the suitcases open. There are no night staff on duty and the drinks machine was broken. No ice in sight. We were glad to leave on the 6 a.m. Shuttle .
