"Breaking the journey"

Dubbo, situated halfway between Melbourne and Brisbane, is an ideal overnight stop. The F1 hotel is situated on the main drag so easy to find. With restraunts and petrol stations very close by, it offers convenience for late arrivals and a quick early morning getaway.On my numerous visits over the years I have noticed that the carpets cleanliness leave alot to be desired. The bathroom towels seem to be very scratchy and shrinking (perhaps that is just me) and there is poor TV reception in each of the rooms I have stayed in.

"Economical and nice place to stay"

Hotel is great... Perfect for family stay with childrens.... Very close to service station, food and drink nearby.... Service was good.

Will be good when breakfast kitchen is up and running. Was a pleasant stay except for noisy guests. The new manager was very helpful.

"Could do with TLC"

Having stayed in other Formule1 this was in need of a good clean a real good clean was real dirty especially in the share eating quarters the bin was full all day it was almost like a game balancing rubbish the communal fridge was (no words allowed) bad. Shower floors in bathroom very slippery and the bed cover was stained. To compare this hotel with another in the same chain you would think that they were two different levels of service. We paid for a clean budget hotel and we got squaller.

"Poor behaviour of other guests"

We stayed in the motel Friday night and unfortunately there was a number of unruly guests who were drunk and yelling in the hallways. They were also running up and down the hallways and banging on doors til late in the morning.

"Snug & Cosy"

There is an old maxim that says 'you get what you pay for'. For what you pay to stay here you get a place to sleep for the night at a reasonble cost. The room was neat and tidy but very small - you wouldn't want to take a large amount of luggage. It would not be suited for a stay of more than 1 or 2 days unless you are by yourself. The management was friendly and helpful. Everything is designed around minimum space and effeciency. Fortunately we had a ground floor room - there are no lifts/elevators for the first and second floors. The hotel is very convenient for Taronga Western Plains Zoo which is only about 5 minutes drive away.

It seemed perfect and is managed for the longest part of the day. We just arrived late and lest early and all was good.I have been to mant hotels and this one is the best one that we have used because of its location and association to meals and it has a very good breakfast.

"Words cannot describe"

From the moment I parked my car I knew I had made a huge mistake. The family of the (solo) reception staff was had obviously decided to come to work with him that day and were noisily occupying a large area of what I guess is the lobby. The solo staff member was unkempt and slow. He seemed quite disinterested in his job.The room was dingy and cold, I wondered if the sheets had been changed. It was generally unclean and the bathrrom was BAD. Slippery floor, no vanity (just a sink) and a toilet that ran all night. Various notes warned me that if steam from the bathroom set off the smoke detector I would be responsible for the call out fee for the fire brigade.I understand that the "Formules" cater to a certain market, but I don't think cleanliness and professional staff is too much to ask.

Although a ground floor room was not available (I am recovering from an operation on my legs) we had a lovely time, the manager was a great help and was a pleasure to speak with, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Dubbo

"great for stopovers"

staff from arrival to departure where polite and helpfull. These are basic motels but it was very clean noise was minimal, bed was comfortable. For overnight stop on trip they are perfect and have plenty of parking. Next door is a lovely new hotel with great meals if you have kids Hungry Jacks also close by.

"Quick Stopover"

I stopped in during a trip from Canberra to Brisbane. Motel staff member was really helpful, particularly about my arrival being potentially after 10:00. She said the she'd happily come down to meet me whenever I arrived. She also said that she'd assist if I needed anything during the night. I had a trailer which was easy to park at the back of the motel. The room was clean and in good condition. It was a very comfortable stay.

"Our Dubbo Stay"

We had an excellent time in Dubbo and Ruth the manager was very helpful. Dubbo Zoo was incredible, all the animals were great. The places Ruth recommended we eat at were good value and had yummy food too. It was good to have a comfy bed to fall into at the end of a long day. The breakfast supplied at the hotel was good value too.

"Trapped"

I found the hotels management very helpful and accommodating upon arrival. However, upon departure (4 a.m.) we incurred a major problem, we could not get put of the front door was stuck/jammed. We rang the buzzer & no answer we then searched the lobby to find a phone number for help none existed. We then rang the head office number & got a recorded message. We then rang directory assistance where the operator searched the web for a number where we could speak to someone in person, no luck. We then rang the local taxi company so we could slide our card out hopping this would get us out of the hotel. This incurred a $ 20 fee. I rang the hotel the next day to tell them of problems & get reimbursed for cost. I still have not heard back ? For many reasons not only the problems we incurred for example fire, medical emergencies etc this problem is a major problem and should be addressed not only in Dubbo but all hotels, a phone number should be posted in all lobbies where you can speak to someone on person.
