rooms could be cleaner and there were bugs in the room.Smokers area was at the entrance of the building which was very unpleasant.

I have stayed in motels and hotels in Australia. I have never had to check in and check out on the same night. The reason I chose Hotel Formula 1 was the location. It was close to place where I was presenting. However, I had to drive to Newcastle to get accommodation. There are some standards you expect in any accommodation in Australia. The hand basin is expected to be within the toilet and bathroom. There was no hand washing facility in the toilet. No hooks to hang towels in the bathroom. There needs to be better lightening in the room. Only one power point was available and it was far from the table in the room. No fridge in the room. These are conveniences that I have found whenever I have stayed in motels. I was very disappointed to find that the standard was not there and that Accor recommends Hotel Formula 1.

The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. I booked & paid over the internet and they has everything ready & waiting when we arrived. My only concern was that there was oly 1 powerpoint and when I went to use it it did spark. I would stay again and recommend the venue to anyone looking for good quality accommodation in the area

Having stayed at the Formule 1 in Brisbane the layout of the rooms there with 2 single beds and a real toilet shower was so much better than the dated Wallsend rooms that it was not funny. We stayed in the two different locations within a week and the room layout was such an improvement. Wallsend would do their customers a great service.

Hi, the only issue I had while staying in your motel was the power point location. It had no room around it so i couldn't plug my camera recharger into it so I had to sit in the corridor while my battery was recharging as the only proper power point was in that corridor. Other then thet I had no other problems in your motel. cheersElena

I was happy with the cleaniness and quietness of the motel. Also the location in which I required accomodation was excellent. The price range was also excellent for the week.I was also impressed with the free parking and amount of parking spaces.Anne

My husband made the booking and when he put my Accor AdvantagePlus card in the booking it did not work,so we did not get 10% discount, When we arrived at the motel and talked to the booking person, she was not interested and did not make any effort to fix the problem and also seem to not understand what to do about it, instead she went outside to have a smoke.This was a second time in the last few months that this happen to us, so next time will go elsewhere

Sorry but I can't recommend this hotel as our room was surpposed to be clean but on arriving we found toe nail clippings on the floor,don't think it was cleaned.Carpets need repairing as they are wearing in places,office staff friendly,always helpfullbut we won't be staying there again.SorrySharon
"A little disappointing"

There was certain aspects of the room that my sister and I were disappointed with. First of all there was no security lock on the door, the toilet lid was damaged, there was no clip on the blind for privacy, there was no security lock on the window which mean we couldn't leave the window ajar for fresh air as we were on the street level, the mattress was far too hard and the light continually made a noise after it was turned off.

Dirty, smelly. If you wish to stay in a stale smokey dirty room with an air conditioner that makes the room smell even worse than it already does, despite the two car air fresheners lodged in the filter... stay at Formule 1 Newcastle. The place is filthy, the staff are rude and the cloud of cigarette smoke as you walk through the front door is your first warning of their lack of quality control. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy or even my ex mother in law.
