ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 2.0 out of 5 stars "Where is it?"

15th May 2012

The directions to the hotel were fine if you were travelling on the A16, but I wasn't. Using my GPS and the street name, I ended up at the same roundabout several times, to be told I had reached my destination - I was nowhere near. Had to ask for directions in a nearby restaurant and was lucky enough to be helped by a couple who were going in that direction. The barman said that this was a regular occurrence, so it was not just down to my poor sense of direction. The reception was polite but distant, the room was not as clean as it could have been, but I was so tired, I just settled for it and was glad to leave, early the following morning. I would not go there again.

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good, no frills, stopover hotel"

10th May 2012, jakester_12, Norwich, United Kingdom

We stayed for one night as a stopover on our way back from SW France. Positives:- The hotel was clean and the room comfortable, if basic. Staff were friendly and helpful. There were at least 3 restaurants in easy walking distance. Overnight it was quiet and the hotel is within spitting distance of the peage. Negatives:- we were a little disappointed with the breakfast and would probably not bother with this next time, also if anyone was wanting a picturesque setting, this would not be appropriate as it is sited in the middle of an industrial estate. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would use this hotel again in the future.

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 2.0 out of 5 stars "Etap - not up to date"

9th May 2012, Sleepy768, Bexhill-on-Sea, United Kingdom

The welcome was o.k., but the room was not. We are both over 70, and the double bed (we requested 2 singles) had a bunk bed over it. This meant that on one side there was a ladder to get up into the bunk bed, which either my husband or I had to crawl round to get into bed, and mind our head when we got out. The bed was not comfortable, more like a wooden board. The hotel was hard to find on an "industrial type" estate which the sat nav could not find.In was somewhere to sleep, breakfast poor, so will not go back there again unless it is re-rurbished to an acceptable standard which it certainly is not nowl.

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good value - but only for short-term stays"

25th March 2012, Eggwall, Teignmouth, United Kingdom

Stayed here for 1 night only at the end of February. Hotel was reasonable easy to find and was good value for money. We use ETAP hotels quite frequently & some are better than others. We liked the breakfast here, but the bed was hard and I personally prefer to have the washbasin in the bathroom rather than next to the bed.

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 4.0 out of 5 stars "Does what it says on the tin."

5th January 2012, Wellingborough

Small, room. compact wetroom/toilet en-suite. Clean and tidy and ideal as an overnight stop on route, but unsuitable for longer stays. Self service breakfast is basic but reasonably priced. £40 b&b for two makes for good value if booked in advance.

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 4.0 out of 5 stars "An excellent choice"

26th September 2011, Cambridge, United Kingdom

As a frequent traveller I try to find new places to stay, and this hotel was excellent. The manager kindly put me in a room at the far end of the ground floor where I was entirely undisturbed. The breakfast was suprisingly good with plenty of choice, and lots of it, and the fresh bread excellent. The location was good, and despite being just off the A16, it is unusually peaceful. There are plenty of the usual eateries a short drive away (from Macdonalds to a grill restaurant), if you don't want to venture further. I liked the peace and quiet. The only niggle was trying to find the entrance to the hotel - the website map needs updating as you have to go past the hotel, round a roundabout and then return past it again to take a turn off that eventually gets you there. Apart from that there was nothing to dislike. I would definately stay there again.

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 4.0 out of 5 stars "Easy, cheap & functional yet comfortable"

18th September 2011, London, United Kingdom

We were using this hotel for a quick overnight stay on a trip from England to Bordeaux. We arrived at about 10pm, after reception had closed, and easily obtained an entry & room code from the machine. The room was basic but with large sink & mirror, television, separate shower/WC and a bunk bed for the little one. As he was only two and we don't fully trust him not to find his way to the ladder in the middle of the night, we put the bunk bed single mattress onto the floor (just enough room!) where he slept very happily.Breakfast was a basic buffet with bread products, cereals, juices, tea, coffee. Adequate but not mind blowing! Certainly good for the price. The location of this hotel is just off one of the motorways in a quiet industrial park and is exceedingly easy to locate. I'm not sure it would make a good base for seeing Abbeville, though, as it's a car journey from the town centre. For our purposes it was ideal.

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 4.0 out of 5 stars "Etap Abbeville"

3rd September 2011, Bradford, United Kingdom

Basis cheap and cheerful accommodation conveniently located next to the motorway and close to a large HyperU shopping centre. The room was clean and comfortable. Our biggest gripe was that there was no kettle to make a cup of tea in the morning. The towels were a bit threadbare as well.

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 3.0 out of 5 stars "Overnight stay"

11th August 2011, Bradford

Conveniently placed hotel for our trip through France. Helpful receptionist, good value for money. Breakfast a bit bland. The room was clean and tidy, the third bed is a bunk, which was not made up on arrival despite the booking being for 3 occupants, and was awkward to make as it is above the double bed

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 4.0 out of 5 stars "Y pay more."

4th July 2011, barnard castle

First time with Etap - last 14 years with Formule 1 - quite impressed. If we continue our practice of driving down France in June will probably use it again next year. However nothing can beat Formule 1 Montlucon avec Olivier et son equipe.

ETAP HOTEL Abbeville (futur ibis budget): 1.0 out of 5 stars "Beware!"

16th June 2011, no city

Terrible location, really hard to find. Shower room flooded, toilet flush did not work. Breakfast meagre. I'm supposed to use up 200 characters in writing this review but words fail me. If Etap spent less time and money of robot computers (cancelling one of our many rooms was impossible) then they may fare better against their opposition. Now, is that 200 words?
