airport bus stop across the street, hop on city tour bus also across, 50m walking distance to the busdepot, do not bother with dinner else where, the food is great, prices are reasonable, personal service from the chef
"Good hotel for Business Travelers"
20th February 2012, Treviso, Italy
Clean, almost new, well furnished. Good commitment, service always with a smile. For tourists is quite far from the center, but for businessmen can worth a stay. 10 min drive from the Airport, and from "Downtown"

"Mercure Lisboa"

recently renovated 4-star hotel. Perfect service, good breakfast buffet and comfortable rooms for a good night's rest. Location is just outside city-centre and is just a few hundred meters away from high-way connection.
"Good stay in Lisbon"
26th January 2012, Rome, Italy
Quite nice hotel. Good location: not in the centre but close to the metro. The room was wide enough and bright. Clean and quiet: there were works in progress but we didn't realize it. Great courtesy.
"Excellent hotel"

I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel, the bedroom was very clean and all above we did like the swimming pool, it was so relaxing. The location was good, very peaceful area, we had to take the underground in order to go to the city center but it was not a problem (5mn). I highly recommended this hotel and definitely will return some day.

Very good reception team. Friendly atmosphere.Nice rooms. Very bad breakfast service at 6:30 AM. No fruits, no croissants, badly baked bread.Nicely located near a subway/train station. Busses and taxis at the door.
"Low Cost Mercure"
8th July 2011, Strasbourg
I am not used to giving bad reviews to hotels, I tend to focus only on the good things, and forget the bad things that are never that important in the end. Staying at the MERCURE hotel in Lisbon wasn't "bad", it was just disappointing when you have stayed in other MERCURE hotels before. After a few metro stations from the center, the hotel will only require a few minutes of walking, and is very easy to be found. The welcoming staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially one French lady, and a Portuguese one. During our stay we unfortunately experienced some really less friendly staff. Just annoying, nothing more. The room was the major disappointment. It was located on the street - please ask for one on the back if you want to get some sleep - which was so noisy it was impossible to get any sleep without earplugs. During two nights, there even was some concert across the street and we could hear the band sing even with our windows closed as if we were in the crowd. Also be aware that the hotel is located right below the route the airplanes take to land on Lisbon airport. We could also see that the room wasn't correctly cleaned, there was many hair remaining on the carpet, many stains too. The hair and the dust remained day after day. The bed was decent, in spite of being a little bit hard. The air con was working well. The bathroom was another weak point. It was very, very dirty, and really needed to be refurbished. Multiples stains were on the floor, which was clearly not cleaned either. You could also notice many black stains on the ceiling, maybe from humidity. The shower wasn't good either. On our first day there (out of three), we had the worst buffet breakfast ever. We arrived around 8 A.M. and we didn't consider this to be late, as the breakfast was supposed to be served until 10.30 A.M. But when we arrived, we felt like being in Russia in the 80's. Everything was empty, we even had to wait a good 10 minutes for having just a bowl - they ran out of bowls ! - after asking 3 times - kindly first, then more firmly, because... how can you run out of bowls in a 3* hotel ?! Then, about a quarter of the food, only, was available. When we asked for bread - just bread, uh, nothing fancy - we were asked to wait another 10 minutes to have it. The staff was overwhelmed while the place wasn't that crowded. One person claimed she was new as an excuse... Too bad, really. The next days, we woke up earlier to avoid such as mess, and it did the trick.
"Nice hotel, but watch the minibar policy!"
15th June 2011, Manchester
Spent 7 nights in the hotel. Very easy to get to from the airport - get the #96 bus "financial centre" (NOT the "city centre" bus), & the hotel is at the bottom of the road. It's a bit too far to walk into the city centre (took us about an hour), but there's a merto station about 3 minutes away (around the back of the Hotel Corinthia). The 'yellow bus' sightseeing tour stops literally outside the hotel door. Our room on the 5th floor was fine - reasonable size, nice bathroom any very clean. While this area of Lisbon is indeed on the airport flightport, noise wasn't a problem. Although the info in the room suggests that you have to pay for wi-fi, it isn't - get the passwords from Reception. All staff we came across spoke good english.A few restaurants across the road - the ones we went to were fine for quality & price. The only drawback we had was the minibar - not only is it crammed with bottles & cans, but everything is linked to a sensor, so if you even touch anything you'll be charged for it - a really nasty practice that a hotel like Mercure shouldn't be adopting. We asked for the contents to be removed, but the hotel wouldn't do this, so we had to had to use the fridge in the hotel bar for the things we wanted to keep cold - not very satisfactory. Pity because it did spoil what otherwise was an enjoyable stay.
"Very cosy and comfortably"
13th January 2011, sgp1, Moscow
Very pleasant hotel, the wonderful personnel (have given out a umbrella from a rain), a good breakfast. The excellent sound insulation, any noise from street it was not audible. Conveniently from hotel to reach by the subway city centre (Baixa), only 10 minutes. With Lisbon Сard it manages free-of-charge. Beside a platform of an train which every half-hour sends in Sintra, therefore it was not necessary to go up to train station Rossio. The airport is close located, by a taxi from hotel up to airport Portela the trip costs 10 euros to that we have been very surprised. The hotel has left the most pleasant impressions.
