ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Barcelona Trip"

25th April 2012, Sachin_Keyyoor, Brussles

Good hotel. Value for money and located in a peaceful neighbourhood. Good shopping malls closeby and the staff were extremely friendly. Walking till the nearest metro station (with the kid) was bit of a tiring thing but for that, everything was perfect.Unfortunately the free internet PC was down during my entire stay :-(

Great trip, hotel right next to a shopping centre with loads of restaurants, cinema, shops. 5 mins walk from metro Fabra y Puig so very useful. safe area. quite a slow check-in. breakfast great, although pay a bit extra and go for the 'whole breakfast' as the mini one is only toast and coffee.

Staying Experience is fine. We did enjoyed our stay there including my family and children. Looking forward for another stay there.

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Not really cheap for low budget hotel"

4th March 2012, BusinessCaspar, On planes

Hotel is located a bit remote from most tourist and business areas. Metro is roughly 10min walk away. There is a shopping center next to the hotel but it is also low quality. Staff is friendly, breakfast ok but rooms are not ok. AC didn't work, first pillow was dirty and matratz super hard.

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent location!"

7th February 2012, Grenoble, France

Me and my wife were really very happy about our stay in this hotel as it is very convenient to reach (near metro stop) and the room was very cozy and comfortable. I highly recommend it. to people who travel for both business and leisure. The rate was also very economic. Breakfast was the only drawback. It would have been better with lot more varieties.

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Very nice visit to Barcelona!"

4th September 2011

Ibis Meridiana is a very nice hotel in a nice, safe neighborhood with a mall right beside it, thus, making it very convenient for odds and ends that might need. I would have rated it a 5 if not for the location, i.e., far from city center and a good long walk (approx. 10 to 15 mins.) to the nearest subway station. Rooms are also small but functional and very clean. Bed a bit on the hard side and also, provides only 1 pillow per pax. Also, there was no safety deposit box in the room, which we thought was standard nowadays in hotel rooms. Service was also very good. As soon as we got to our room, we noticed that we were given a smoking room as it smelled of cigarette smoke. We immediately asked for a change in rooms (as we were traveling with another couple) and the front desk personnel was very accommodating. Only surprise to us was we asked for a non-smoking room when we reserved but was given otherwise. Would definitely consider staying again if we visit Barcelona in the future.

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 4.0 out of 5 stars "very good"

19th July 2011, Bucharest

The hotel is very close to the metro station Fabra i Puig in a quite area of the town. Near hotel is a large commercial center (Heron City) where you can eat and make shopping at good prices. Most of workers from commercial center don`t speak/understand English, but they are friendly and I managed to obtain what I wanted. The rooms are very clean and the hotel staff is friendly. Certainly, if I will go again at Barcelona I will stay at Ibis Meridiana.

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 3.0 out of 5 stars "IBIS Barcelona Meridiana"

7th July 2011, Strasbourg

The Hotel IBIS Barcelona Meridiana is located about 10-15 minutes by foot to the nearest metro station, and is pretty easy to find. Near the hotel, you'll find a small shopping center with some restaurants and a fast-food place - which is good considering the rest of the area is pretty empty. From there, a 15 minutes metro ride will take you to the city. The staff was very "variable" from one person to the other. You could either have the nicest person or the grumpy one. But all in all it was pretty decent for a 2* hotel. The staff seemed to be composed of senior staff, and young French people doing an internship there - most of them were friendly, even if you could feel they were unexperienced, but, hey, you gotta start somewhere, uh ? Staff speaks mostly Catalan, Spanish, French and English. The room was clean. Even though you could definitely see it was not a brand new hotel, it was at no point dirty. The bathroom was big enough not to feel claustrophobic, and the shower was awesome. The only bad point about the room was the bed, which was very, very hard - not having a bed base didn't help, it seems like this is common to all the IBIS hotels I've stayed in so far. Doors don't stop the noises from outside, so expect to hear people walking in the corridor, or close their own doors. A few earplugs could be necessary if you're a light sleeper, or if you have cardiac issues.Be aware that the windows won't open, as a "safety measure", I didn't find this to be a problem, the air con did the trick. The breakfast was decent, for a 2* hotel. I've stayed in 2* hotels in other countries, where the breakfast was much worse. The staff operating during the breakfast was very "reactive" concerning the food shortages :)All in all, a positive experience for a special price - we went there during a special promotion, all IBIS hotels in Spain for 45€ per night. Keep in mind this is only a 2* star, but a very decent one.

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 3.0 out of 5 stars "good hotel chain...horrible housekeeping service"

27th June 2011, Chula Vista

I have used Ibis every time I travel to Europe because of the US hotel concept, but on this occasion.. the room smelled horrible,ad we couldn´t change rooms because our kids were on the same floor. When we came back after a long day sightseeing, our room hadn´t been cleaned, the bathroom was dirty, the sheets weren,t changed and the toiletries hadn´t been replaced. I will continue to use Ibis, but never again in Barcelona!!

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good experience"

31st May 2011, Pune

We had a preggy good overall expedrience. The check-in takes a lot of time for a family due to entry of each passport details. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The value for money was excellent.

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 3.0 out of 5 stars "If you are looking for safe hotel then go here......................"

17th May 2011, bas

I stayed before in this hotel in different countries ,those were good but here AC was not working and room was too small, very less availabilty of safe vault.I think there should be in built safe vault in each room sothat travellers dont need to carry their valuable along with .We had to carry our valuables with us all the time My hubby is having now backache .Staff was good and one think I like about this hotel chain is saftey.... feel safe while staying ...

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 4.0 out of 5 stars "-"

3rd May 2011, Stockholm

It was a good hotel. The staff were kin and most of them knew English. The hotel was claen. There was a subway station near the hotel (about ten min by walking) and that line of the subway was the most important line to landmarks. I recommend the hotel.

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Quite satisified"

29th April 2011, Bratislava

Gernerally satisified. A more focus I would put on is the variety of breakfast. The same offer and with the limited choice should be under consideraion. Also I was missing fruits & vegetables among the food as well as the tea bags with the fruit flavour. We would appreciate more english & german channels (movies) and preferrably some other channels from the eastern european countries.

ibis Barcelona Meridiana: 3.0 out of 5 stars "A weekend of fun and confusion"

17th December 2010, jssokolo, Madrid

Well, my girl friend and I had to take the good with the bad on this trip. We traveled on the day of the infamous air traffic controllers strike. We had to modify our reservation because we weren't able to arrive on Saturday as planned. This caused a bit of confusion at check-in as our reservations were lost. With a bit more complications involved it seemed we've averted a bad experience because Ibis was kind enough to offer us the rate in which we had booked even though the reservation was lost. The hotel itself is located away from the city center, but it's connected to a really nice shopping center. The shopping center isn't enormous, but the light from the Christmas tree gave off a wonderful glow. It was nice to walk around this area after we caught the last metro back to the hotel each night. The staff were remotely friendly, but the biggest pain was the renovation at the entrance of the hotel. The entrance during the renovation is the side door which leads into the dining area. It's not the most ambient of Ibis Hotels we've been in, but needless to say it did the trick. The rooms were what you would expect and we had a great couple of nights sleep on the beds. If you're looking for a hotel in the center of the action, I wouldn't recommend this place, however if you're looking for something with a bit of value for your euro and you're not the type to say in the center of the city or in a hostel, I would say "go for it!"
