ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent travel stop"

10th May 2012, Tonbridge

This ibis is an excellent overnight travel stop. Close to shopping centres if you want. Very clean and practical. However the one detail missing are a few hooks on the wall to hang your coats.if you (like me) think that in general French Ibis hotels can be a bit tatty, then this is a pleasant surprise. Really clean and fresh.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Quick trip"

6th May 2012, Muffy39, London, United Kingdom

The Ibis was just what my daughter and i needed. The hotel reception desk was efficient, polite and helpful. The hotel itself was quiet. Cite L'Europe is a 1 min walk away. Great place to stay for a shopping trip!

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 5.0 out of 5 stars "mariabuckley"

One of the best Ibis hotels we stayed. Good value, friendly service. Simple and functional rooms. Highly recommended.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Just an overnighter"

27th April 2012, dmforpm, Birmingham, United Kingdom

The hotel is good enough and not so expensive. Everything was fine, I wanted to work and the desk area was a little small but other than that good value for money

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 3.0 out of 5 stars "IBIS Coquelles - good for Channel Tunnel stop overs"

25th April 2012, mwjones99, Cardiff, United Kingdom

My family and I have used this hotel and the next door Suite Hotel, many times over the past five years. It makes a good place to stop over either before or after using the Channel Tunnel. It is situated right next to the entrance to the Tunnel check-in, so handy for late arrivals. The rooms have been recently updated to replace the carpeting with laminate flooring. This makes them kind of noisy and somewhat less cozy than before. The beds were firm, but acceptable. We also had the single bed folded out for our daughter and she was fine on it. This bed is normally a table when the room is occupied by two people. The shower and toilet 'pod' was very clean - no problems there. The soap dispensers were full (occasionally they aren't in IBIS hotels) and the towels were fine. Neither side of the hotel seems to matter much in terms of noise. However, on the first floor there is a room in the corner at the end of the hall which is directly above the sliding glass doors which lead into the lobby. The noise of these doors can be heard opening and closing (which they do until early in the morning). Ask if it's the room over the doors. All the other rooms we've stayed in seem fine.Breakfast is the highlight of our stay at IBIS hotels and this one has a nice buffet breakfast with lots of choice for kids and adults. The coffee is excellent - or maybe that's just France.

always use this hotel for ferry and distance from shopping mall but we always dine in the shopping malL as it has more choice and we have not found the food in the ibiS that good.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Calais convenience"

22nd April 2012, Dickie831, Caerphilly, United Kingdom

This hotel is very close to the Eurotunnel terminal and so convenient for a quick visit to Northern France or Belgium. I have stayed here a few times and will do again. Rooms are clean and airy and a decent sized private carpark means there's always room for your vehicle. The hotel is very close to the Cite Europe shopping complex, and close to a motorway, but noise is virtually unnoticeable. Sufficient selection of food for breakfast, which is continental style, but plenty available. Staff friendly and the ones we encountered are multi-lingual, but don't speak Welsh. Neither do they hold malice for this year's rugby beating by Wales. A nice all-round stay.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 3.0 out of 5 stars "A good overnighter for Cite de Europe"

17th April 2012, kate066, dublin

We chose this hotel as it was close to Cite de Europe for our shopping tripThe room was good much better than we had experienced before, clean big bedshower, this was quite small and be careful not to slip . The breakfast was supurb even pancakes .The check in was quick as we had pre booked and we are members of A club, very handyfree wi fi very good staff, friendly without being a pain. This Ibis hotel was one of the best we have stayed in'The evening meal was okay, the trouble was we picked wrong the other guests were nearly all English couples a few teenage boys very well behaved. On the whole a good experience, we will go there again

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Calais"

16th April 2012

I have visited this hotel with my Family, Grandchildren and great Grandchildren and found this location a graet place for shopping and sight seeing,it seems most people drive straight out of the area and not noticing the wealth of beaches and places interest with beautiful country and stopping places. So next time you travel to France take the time to stop and see what you are missing.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "A stay at IBIS to rest before driving through France"

16th April 2012, NJT132, High Wycombe, United Kingdom

convenient, clean and value for money - just what we needed to prepare us for a day in the car as we set off south the next day.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 5.0 out of 5 stars "EXCELLENT SHORT STAY"

11th April 2012, Strathmiglo

Excellent hotel to base yourself in. Only 2 hours drive from the port of Zebrugge and walking distance to Cite Europe. We have stayed there four times and will continue to book this hotel for our annual trip. Hotel and staff are excellent and very helpful. Parking is ideal. Can find nothing wrong with this hotel at all.Mary Ross

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Well up to standard"

11th April 2012, Pezenas, France

The point about Ibis, so I have always thought, is that it works on a formula that works. De Luxe it is not but well run, frriedly and efficient it most cetainly is. The restaurant is not aiming at haut cuisine but it delivers wholesome and for the most part more than acceptable food. The rooms are fit for purpose, have independently controllable heating or air conditioning (depending upon your desire for heat or cold air) and because most of the hotles are in modern buildings the plumbing works with seemingly endless supplies of hot water. We stop here after coming through the Chunnel knowing we can get a decent meal up to 10:00pm or a snack thereafter, a beer beforehand with which to wind down and if you want another pillow just go and ask for it. We stay in various Ibis Hotels as we travel just because they represent good value for money and are comfortable. This particular one is, we think, one of the best and are always pleased to get there.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good location , good value and entertaining."

4th April 2012, Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Staff very friendly, helpful and good fun at check-in and in the restaurant. Rooms better than most Ibis hotels and location perfect for Cite Europe, Euro Tunnel and ferries.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Spoilt by decorators"

2nd April 2012, StaffordSeniors, STAFFORD

Often stayed here but on this occasion hotel lobby and corridors smelt of paint and cigarette smoke. Restaurant definitely know how to cook steak - very good meal in the evening.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Return to the UK"

26th March 2012, St Neots

We use Coquelles many times on our return home from Spain. The staff are fun and pleasant and we always enjoy our stop.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Coquelles"

25th March 2012, Reading, United Kingdom

Used for 1 night stopover en-route back to UK - perfect for what we wanted. Worth premium over TAP for better quality beds!

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Prior to early morning Shuttle"

24th March 2012, jeamax, St Nom

An excellent way to be on site the evening before taking an early morning shuttle to UKA stay which was good value for money.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Alarm!!"

23rd March 2012, Harrogate, United Kingdom

Perfectly adequate 'budget hotel' but our room overlooked the BMW garage next door.A car alarm went off every 20 mins throughout the night, resulting in 2 hours sleep maximum for me. Reception were very apologetic but ultimately it did not help me get to sleep! If you stay there insist on a room on the other side overlooking the hotel car park.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Shopping trip - overnight stay"

22nd March 2012, London, United Kingdom

I visited this hotel for 1 night on a shopping trip to Cite Europe and for this short visit felt the hotel was adequate. The room was very clean and serviceable, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the location of the hotel to Cite Europe was excellent.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "march 1st"

6th March 2012, Norwich, United Kingdom

Easy to book However the winter deal price changes at last stage of booking and rate goes up.When questioned was told no rooms left at this price. This is unfair to my mind and misleading .other wise all went wellPg

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Easy"

5th March 2012, Norwich

Very good!! Easy location!! ideal for travelling out of the UK to anywhere in Europe, You gain the hour when you sleep no hurrying and getting up early to catch the Eurotunnel shuttle as it was all done the night before. So a relaxed start of the break.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Overnighter for the Channel Tunnel"

4th March 2012, Liskeard

A lovely Ibis hotel recently upgraded and therefore beautifully appointed. The location is perfect for the Channel Tunnel as it is right on the embarcation site. The staff are bilingual and very helpful. The rooms are clean, with large comfortable beds and en-suite 'pod-style' showers with hot water. The air-conditioning is easily managed. There is Wi-Fi access throughout which functions well and plugs in the rooms if required. We didn't use the restaurant but the menu looked good and the prices in line with the rest of France.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent value and convenient"

18th February 2012, grbucket, Brighton, United Kingdom

We stayed for 1 night here prior to our return to the UK via Eurotunnel. Welcome was warm and friendly. Room comfy and clean and TV had BBC stations available.Super value for money and excellent breakfast. A great choice for a Calais stopover.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Overnight stay"

15th February 2012, Brussels, Belgium

Stayed in this hotel in order to catch an early shuttle to the UK. Excellent location for the shuttle. Very friendly and polite staff. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food and staff were extremely efficient. Would certainly use it again.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Only recommended if you can get a cut price deal"

12th February 2012, Dartford, United Kingdom

Reception indifferent, restaurant menu unimaginitive, extortionate bar prices, one English TV channel (news) and rock hard bed and pillows (painful back and neck guaranteed) - rooms are clean and well laid out and hotel is in a good location for Le Shuttle, ferries, Carrefour and motorways - no parking problems.

ibis Calais Tunnel sous la Manche: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Noisy Aircon"

24th January 2012, Brussels, Belgium

excellent hotel with excellent service & staff. Perfect location for hopping across the channel - only 5 mins from the Channel Tunnel peage. One complaint was that even in the "off" position the aircon continued to rumble thru the night like someone was drilling into a wall 3 rooms away.At 01h30 in the morning it was time to call reception - they very efficiently & obligingly moved our room but only after finding another 3 rooms were the same.Tip -> check your aircon volume even when "off" before unpacking your bags.Otherwise a great hotel.
