Novotel Wellington: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Quick trip"

14th May 2012, MescaleroBob, Wellington, New Zealand

Great location. Rooms could do with a bit of a re-vamp. Otherwise - all good experience. Concierge was very helpful.

Novotel Wellington: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Great location & staff but a little tired"

14th May 2012, Debra007Auckland, Auckland

Novotel is in a greta spot and the rooms are a good size & clean. However the place looks like it needs a bit of a facelift. The lifts are old & tired and the bathrooms need a complete revamp. Staff were great.

Novotel Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great location, helpful staff."

11th May 2012

We stayed at Novotel for one night, having made a booking two days earlier. Following the advice of the staff member I spoke to when I rang, I made an online booking ... and got a good rate. For a mid range hotel in central Wellington, although it's appearance was rather tired in some areas, it delivered us a quiet, comfortable room, reasonably well appointed, with a great view of city and harbour.. We appreciated the helpful, friendly staff, in particular the fact that the same person I spoke to when I made the initial phone inquiry was front of desk when we arrived. He remembered my call, accommodated our parking request (my husband wanted to park the car himself), and promptly arranged the return of a phone charger we left behind, when we rang a few days later. Other hotel staff were also very friendly. The buffet breakfast provided an excellent range, food was well cooked and hot items were actually hot. Again, we were able to enjoy the great view from our table.$28 for valet parking was a few dollars cheaper than some other hotels in the vicinity, and the lift from the hotel straight down to Lambton Quay made getting out and about so easy. With this in mind, it is really the position of this hotel that I would rate as its best feature.Only gripe... the bathroom, while not 'dirty' was not the cleanest either... a human hair next to the bath was a little off putting. We were given a 'superior' room ... .... although we were very satisfied with it, the quality of fittings, linen, and even the bed (a Queen size that wasn't the most comfortable) were all fairly average. A little strange too, was the lift entry from the carpark... straight into the restaurant. I was glad we weren't hauling heavy bags through here! However, we'd probably stay here again, and pay the little bit extra to get the view and height above the city.

Novotel Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Wellington Novotel"

8th May 2012, Pharma_12, Palmerston North, New Zealand

Location is brilliant for business purposes, but rooms and hotel feeling a bit tired and could do with an uplift to bring to standard of banner group experienced in other cities, and other hotels in Wellington. Staff very friendly and accommodating, but meals a little overpriced for what appears on plate.

Novotel Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "all that we needed we got"

1st May 2012, libbi12, Auckland, New Zealand

This hotel is well placed for walking to many of Wellington's attactions, easy access, excellent retaurant, comfy beds, room was clean, little old fashioned now, does need a revamp, but guess the price would go up and its excellent value for money, warmly recommend this as a safe family hotel as well.

Novotel Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great location"

25th April 2012, Trier

We had a deal through our Accor membership, so the price was very good for our stay. The location is excellent, and the rooms are very quiet. We had called ahead to ask about parking and was told it was valet parking only, but were not told that there was only one space on the road, and what to do if it was already occupied, which it was both times we went around the block in rush hour. It would be helpful to explain that we could go into the underground park and then sort it out with reception staff. Staff very friendly and helpful. Walking through the dining room and past the servery to get the lifts down to Lambton Quay means that the dining room is not at all private, so we didn't feel like using it even for breakfast. The dining room also merges into the lobby area where we could use thirty minutes free wireless, again making the eating area quite unrelaxing. The wireless access was good, plus free internet access use using the two hotel machines, although we would of course prefer longer!

Novotel Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good hotel despite error on booking"

15th April 2012, kalouari, Albany

I recently stayed with my elderly Mother who has mobility issues. We requested adjoining rooms with a walk in shower in advance. We arrived in the evening to find that both rooms had showers over baths so weren't suitable for my elderly Mother. I advised reception who could not move us to other rooms as all of the disabled rooms were taken. We were advised that the person who did the booking had believed that the rooms included a disabled shower in error and we were offered relocation to another hotel but declined as we only had one night and by this time my Mother felt too tired to move. We were offered free valet parking and we ordered a room service meal from the restaurant. The food was very good and when we checked out the next day we weren't charged for parking or our dinner so were appreciative of the efforts to make up for the error.

Novotel Wellington: 5.0 out of 5 stars "GReat location and Service"

3rd April 2012

I regularily stay at the Novotel The Terrace due to the service and location. Customer service is of a high standard and the staff are always on hand to assist with any needs.Valet service is prompt and reliable. Dinning in is a treat with the Chef's creating some great dishes and there is a good variety.Views of the city and water are a great way to wake up each morning.

Another great stay at the Novotel in Wellington. The hotel itself was great... Very clean, location fantastic, service very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and spacious. If there is one suggestion it would be to consider upgrading your beds. There is nothing better than a comfortable bed at the end of the long day.

Novotel Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Novotel Experience"

29th March 2012, Dannevirke, NZ

We booked this hotel through the Accor scheme and felt our original selection looked like good value for money. As we were away for a special evening we decided to upgrade to a 'room with a view'. In future I would not pay the extra money as the view from the Terrace is limited - high rises and airconditioning units! We enjoyed the furnishings of the interior of our room and found it very clean. The airconditioning temerature was hard to regulate as it seemed to be set @ 18 degrees. During the night we had it on, off, on, etc. Meals were well priced using our discount card. Parking @ $28 per night was expensive so we chose not to use it. Alll service was of a high standard and staff were friendly. Overall still a pleasant night with the few exceptions as above.

Novotel Wellington: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Always good at the Novotel Wellington"

24th March 2012, mpc04, melbourne

We always stay at the Novotel in Wellington and this time we took along some friends for a celebration event as well. The Hotel did everything right and included some very pleasant surprises such as a Birthday cake to the room.We will continue to stay here as the location is handy and the harbour views from the upper floors are not bad for watching the cruise ships come and go!

Novotel Wellington: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Dining area"

8th March 2012, Tauranga, New Zealand

I felt that reception is to close to the dining and bar area especially as it was busy with people coming and going, waiting for buses or to be picked up. The meals were very good and the waitress we had was friendly. ( The girl from Canada )

Novotel Wellington: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Wellington; Great Place"

7th March 2012, Melbourne, Australia

Wonderful location. Every thing ecellent except on last night of stay when restaurant booked out by large group. Not happy with this arrangement as an Accor Advantage member some area in the dinning room should be allocated for other paying guests. Having to leave in pouring rain and wind to another restaurant some blocks away did NOT make my day.

Found the hotel very suitable for my needs, only point worth mentioning is the car parking area for valet parking, which was small. And the access from the car park to the lobby reception was not entirely clear. However, staff were very friendly and helpful.

Novotel Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "A night at Novotel Wellington"

29th February 2012, Ashburton

Handy to CBD yet quiet. Staff friendly. Happily bring up fresh milk and deliver a morning paper. Wish they would change the Macona Coffee and perhaps give a variety. Our stay was short this time but it is usually where we stay. I haven't worked out how to claim the reward on my A/card yet.

Novotel Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "a good location"

Novotel Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Cole Stay on 1st Feb"

15th February 2012, Christchurch, New Zealand

The stay was just fine but my husband had a screw in his breakfast the first morning and we advised both the waiter that morning and the check out staff as we left - they apologised but nothing else was said - as he chipped a back tooth. We just felt a little disapointed that it wasn't investigated further - even asked where the screw came from? which we assume from one of the containers holding the dishes of either baked beans or scrambled eggs.

Close to main attractions and easy to get to and from. The staff were pleasant both in the restaurant and at front desk. The food in the restaurant for dinner was lovely. Buffet breakfast was standard. Good size room. On check out we were recommended travel to our next destination which was quickly arranged for us and it was also the most cost effective solution which was appreciated.
