Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Heat wave in Budapest"

9th May 2012, 73KJM, Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom

The Sofitel ticked all the boxes save that the bathroom was a little small and the breakfast expensive, particularly if you wanted hot options ( 27 euros).Particular mention must be made of the perfect location and the excellent assistance provided by the concierge for us as first time visitors to this fascinating city. The modern and unobtrusive air conditioning was a real boon as the temperature soared into the 30s.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent location - great hotel"

29th April 2012, Welovetravelling01, Rockhampton, Australia

Booked on a breakfast inclusive rate for a Danube view room. Got an upgrade on arrival to a suite with a separate lounge area on the Chain Bridge end of the building. What a view! Looking directly out on the Chain Bridge and over the river to Buda. The food was excellent at the restaurant and although a little more expensive than some of the local restaurants, not too overpriced for where it was etc. The spa was wonderful of an afternoon to soothe sore feet from walking all around the city.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "THE BEST HOTEL...."

Thanks Sofitel for this amazing experience. Great services, very polite and helpful employees with the customers. They help us a lot with their information. Also Sofitel its very clean with big rooms and in good prices. The only negative is that breakfast price is very expensive. However the location of Sofitel its great. Its In the middle of Budapest, near the Chain Bridge. We are very happy with Sofitel. I was feeling like a king at Sofitel hotel. For sure i will stay again at Sofitel hotel. Actually i will staying only at Sofitel Hotel. THANKS SOFITEL HOTEL. Kyriacos from Cyprus

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Nice view"

10th March 2012, Sao Paulo, Brazil

I got a room with view to Danube. Very nice view to the Danube, Chain Bridge and Buda Castle. The room is not big but it is very comfortable. Inside, the hotel is very beautiful too. It is located near almost all important Budapest touristic attractions and sites.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent!"

24th February 2012, Taunton, United Kingdom

We had an excellent weekend stay. Thank you for the upgrade and welcome. Efficient check in and check out. Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. It wasn't a problem that we did not have the bridge view.Highly recommended. Great location.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great service and beautiful view"

23rd February 2012, Vienna, Austria

We spend our anniversary in the Sofitel in Budapest and it was an excellent stay! The service was exceptional, the facility was great, the room was nice and the view was stunning (we had a beautiful view to the Chain bridge and the castle)! I can definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a higher priced, great hotel.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent"

10th February 2012, Hannover

The hotel looks pretty generic from the outside but once you enter it really transforms. The service is to be particularly pointed out as outstanding. The rooms are decent sized and the ones overlooking the river give you a wonderful view of the Chain Bridge and the Castle. The hotel has been there for a couple of years already but shows no signs of wear - i.e. it has been maintained meticulously, so there are no worries on that front, either - it isn't dated. It offers a Sofitel typical breakfast, with plenty of Hungarian highlights, which change on a daily basis, so there is something new to sample constantly, if you are there on a longer stay. On top of the Hungarian specialties and the standard breakfast fare, there is a small Japanese breakfast section, for guests so inclined. The bar and restaurant also overlook the riverfront, however the location on the ground floor does not make those views quite as spectacular as they are from the rooms. The food is excellent and there is again a blend of a modern interpretation of typical Hungarian cuisine and French / international dishes. The quality of dining is one of the better ones in town, and as everywhere, the service is excellent. The hotel also has a spa and a swimming pool, the former being very much par for the course (have not sampled the latter). In terms of other amenities it is dog friendly, has a library with a small but useful selection of books on Budapest, the country and some literature, there is underground valet parking and if you so wish, a car wash as well. Overall an excellent address in the centre of Budapest, within easy walking distance to the main sights of Pest, adjacent to the Vaci shopping area and close to the Andrassy str. (for the more upscale shopping). Buda is also just a stroll across the Chain Bridge away and the main sightseeing tours stop next to / pick you up at the hotel, too.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Happy in Budapest"

16th January 2012, San Francisco, California, USA

The rooms was excellent and the service was perfect. I was comfortable and I definitely will stay at Hotel Sofitel on future visits to Budapest. The location is perfect and I especially am impressed how convenient how it is to get around with the taxi service.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Just wonderful!"

10th January 2012, Brisbane, Australia

We booked this hotel through the A Club and we arranged to have the room pre-paid. It is amazing what discounts you can get if you plan ahead and it was certainly worth it. So I would recommend to anyone to do this first of all. When we arrived, we had an unfortunate incident with our room door (it came off its hinges). We phoned reception and within 2 minutes, someone from housekeeping was at the door to look at it. We stayed in our room for a while longer to wait for maintenance which came after about 5 minutes. We were happy to wait until he had repaired the door but just as he had finshed, someone from the front desk came up and offered us a room upgrade for the inconvenience. For someone like me that never gets free-upgardes, this was such a treat and the suite we were given was enormous. All I can say is that this is the sign of a good hotel. If you are inconvenienced in the slightest way, they seek to make it right. As you can imagine, the rest of our stay was just wonderful. We had this massive suite with living area, two TV's, Hermes bath products and that bed .. THAT BED!!! Possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in.The front desk staff and concierge were extremely helpful as well. Every afternoon we went to them with our restaurant reservations which by the way, I think is quite important. It was so nice and they were always so helpful. The breakfast for us at 27Euro was possibly the most expensive thing. Luckily there is a small little 24hr shop next to the hotel that does lovely fresh rolls and mini butter and preserves which is a much option if you don't think you can eat 27 Euros of food.As there are at least 6 hotels all within the vicinity, I think you would have to try them all to see which suits you the most. I really liked this place, the location, the view and the staff.

Only disappointment was the lack of variation in the food and snacks in the Executive Lounge. Otherwise a very fine pub with great people and a lovely position.Good Restaurant and Bar and nice Beer Garden

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Holiday in Budapest"

10th August 2011, Launcestomn

This is a lovely hotel. We found that it was easy to access shops, tours, cruises, and restaurants. Our room had a wonderful view of the river and the Buda side. Our requests for assistance in many matters were treated prompotly and efficiently by the staff.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 3.0 out of 5 stars "More shine than fine"

30th July 2011, Lisboa

service french coolnees mixed with old hungarian i dont care attitude, bath room amenities we had to ask for since they were never refilled, shower runs slowly, room with cables loose all over, bar and restaurant staff extremely friendly and competent, restaurant menu though is poor and with no atmosphere, breakfast overpriced, overall a five star hotel in a good location with a 3 star staff and 4 star amenities. There are better options of 5 star hotels in Budapest. Tried it but will not return.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge: 5.0 out of 5 stars "The view from the Sofitel made our visit to Budapest amazing"

22nd July 2011, halatlanta, atlanta

The location of the Sofitel is perfect. The upgraded room facing the Danube with a view of the illuminated buildings and the Chain Bridge at night is amazing. The staff and especially the concierage were extremely helpful, and helped us make the best use of our 4 days in Budapest. We would highly recommend the Sofitel Chain Bridge.
