« Extremely unfriendly and unprofessional checking man at counter »

The guy at checking counter deals with hotel customers as if they are jail inmates and he is making them favor to let them stay at hotel. Highly recommend train him or change him from checkin staff maybe to another role with NO interaction with customers

The hotel room was tired and shabby and is in need of a complete refurbishment. It was very expensive too compared to its new sister hotel next door - Ibis. Having said that, the staff were very nice, polite and extremely friendly.

« Old expensive hotel.... »

I've been staying at the hotel for the past 8 years. No major renovation, even though prices are extremelly high. My bathroom was old, even on superior room, the bath tube was not letting the water go down, the shower support was broken. The room has poor lighting, all the furnitere is old. It was difficult to sleep after 5:00, as the light black outs were not efficient, leting light to enter. The transport to the airport was booked for 7:30 and at 7:45 there was still no navette. They need to invest on the hotel. Not fair, with those prices...

« Just a place to sleep in »

Don't think of getting your breakfast there as it is very poor quality, and people serving it they think that you work for them! If you like to burn 1700DZ that is the place, as I been for breakfast once and not sure why I paid 1700DZ and for what. There was food dropped on the floor under the tables not sure how long been there, using the coffee machine coffee cups are small so the drink will over flow and make your cup look dirty! If you just need some where to sleep for few nights ok .

To summarize the hotel should be down graded. 20 min on the front desk to check in, very poor rooms with dirty carpets on the floor, Mattresses on the bed are stiff like sand bags. Air conditioning is very week. Sorry but i had to share the experience

Can't give more than One star to the service provided by the hotel staff...front desk very unfriendly and no one answers when you call from the room...service at restaurant is very poor with no standards...

« 2 Stars at best »

Very dissapointed for price. The bed mattress is as hard as a rock. The rooms are somewhat dated weak water pressure. Rooms also smell of stale smoke. Food and drink very expensive. If you don't speak the local language communicating will be an issue. Bring cash with you as the ATM was out for 2 weeks at a time and the local ATM dont accept cards that are not from local banks. The Pool area is probably the nicer of the amenities of the hotel and the fitness center is OK when it opens on time which it. However, the power kept going out in the fitness center when several treadmills ran at the same time.

« Location »

Mercury Algiers is very well located - very close to the airport and near a score of shops and restaurants. 5 minutes walk and you are in a shopping centre with lot of shops and restaurants. The swimming pool is fantastic and the hotel is well kept. Only drawback - very expensive food and drinks.

« Price to high for poor rooms »

If you like rooms in style from the sixties for 180Euro per Night exlusive Breakfast... Me not! I had Mercure better in my memorys before. First and last stay in this Hotel! Ibis next door (also Accor) is better for the price!

Good hotel, great place and surroundings. amazing garden. down sides: very old furniture, unfriendly staff especially the reception desk, if you don't speak french it will cause some troubles especially with room service.

« A lot of money for little value »

Mercure used to be the best price-quality hotel in Algiers, but since beginning of this year, it changed drastically. Quality of service and food it not what it was anymore. Very merdiocre to poor nowadays!
