"Does what it says on the tin"

If all you want is a good quality hotel to rest your head whilst visiting Ypres and the surrounding area then you can't do much more than stay here. Polite staff, clean rooms, excellent vicinity to bars & the Menim Gate make it a good choice. I have stayed here 4 times in the last year & have no complaints, other than the breakfast is too expensive.....

Wanted a Hotel in centre of Iper(Ypres)couldnt fault it, easy to locate just off main square, 5 mins walk from Menin gate for evening parade. Spotless rooms as you expect in a novotel, loverly sleep. Breakfast was fresh and good choice hot or cold. Location was key as we wanted to see WW1 war graves and everything was not far away with some lovely bars, restaurants an shops in the town.

Great hotel - fantastic location, situated 100 metres from main square and 150 metres from the menin gate. Reception staff fantastic - friendly, professional, excellent English language skills (not many Uk visitors I suspect are fully "up to snuff" in Flemish!). 2 quibbles - food, particularly breakfast, was very expensive (20 Euros!), but there's an excellent bakery 20 metres down the road towards the square, and room cleaning was pretty poor.

"great hotel great location"

Great hotel in heart of Ypres, close to Menen Gate (5 min. walk) and main square (3 min walk). Staff all good, breakfast good and rooms clean modern spacious and comfortable. Have stayed here in the past and will stay here again. Secure parking available for cycles and cars. Can't reaaly say any more other than we have never been let down by this hotel and will continue to use it in the future.

"First World War Battlefields Visit"

Very convenient location for visiting Ieper and the surrounding areas and it has its own parking which is useful during the peak season. A warning to people not to park in the market square on a Friday night as if you do you'll find your car has been towed away by morning and you'll be €80 lighter.

Excellent location for the Menin Gate, and Cloth Hall.Reception staff very helpful.Anyone with mobility problems should ask for a room with shower, but no bath. The bath is very high, and difficult to get in and out of, and the shower is placed over the bath. Otherwise the hotel is a very pleasant place to stay.

"my time in Ypres"

it was a good stay in Ypres, the hotel has a good location in the town, literaly with in a few hundred meters of the Menim Gate, price is about standard for this type of accomodation. good basement parking if you dont fancy parking on the street,

"A Dry Bed Makes All the Difference"

We had to move room as the bed in the first room was positively wet, not just damp. The staff were very good. My wife found the pillows uncomfortable. Otherwise very good, especially the breakfast. The location is excellent, just round the corner from the Menen Gate.

"Novotel Ieper"

Stayed here several times and hotel is always good. Public hotel areas refurbished to a high and modern standard. Bedrooms could do with an update but perfectly adequate. Breakfast quality much improved over last couple of years. Would always be first choice when staying in Ieper.

"Family Holiday Belgium"

We chose this hotel as we have stayed at Novotel Hotels before, so we know they are a good standard. This hotel was not the standard we expected, the rooms were more like an Ibis Hotel rather than a Novotel, it was so basic and shabby, stains on the wall in our room. There was no safe in our room, which i know Novotel provide as we had arrived from Brussels and there was one in our room there. The only good thing about the hotel was the location, just round the corner from the Menin Gate and central for restaurants.

"Quality service"

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and each time the level of service and hospitality is excellent. The staff are most courteous and helpful which combined with the pleasant amenties make this a hotel to recommend. The buffet breakfast is of good quality and generous in size. A great hotel.

"Modern oasis"

Staff very helpful, facilities extremely good and we very much appreciated the provision of WiFi service which enabled us to plan the next stages of our trip.Perhaps, given the post World War 1 efforts to reinstate the historic buildings of Ieper, it would has been more appropriate for the design (of the facades) of the building to be more reflective of the earlier style architectural features.

Well positioned hotel.Clean and tidy and quiet.Bar prices far to dear OVER 20 EURO for two gin and tonics,but over all a nice hotel,would stay again.Free parking around the corner by the church.Don't park on the street out side the hotel as you WILL get a ticket.

"motorbike trip"

staff were very helpful, location was great. room was very nice a bit small with three beds in it. With two mates who had trouble with their bowls playing tunes and me snoring we had a great stay. Would stay here again.

"Highly Recommended"

From entering the hotel we were highly impressed with the staff who were very welcoming and could speak excellent English. Our room was spacious, very well laid out and spotlessly clean. The standard in the hotel was extremely high and the bar and lounge areas were very comfortable. Breakfast was incredable with so many choices including both hot and cold. We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone
