"Family stay at hotel"

The only advese comment I can make is that when I ordered a glass of wine at 1920 hrs on the evening the barman had to take a glass from a table in the bar and wash it. He could not find another glass behind the bar. The bar was practically empty so it was not a case of too many customers drinking wine.

Pedestrian access to the hotel poor, involving crossing a busy multi-lanes road with a central refuge but no crossing facilities! Hotel itself doesn't appear to have been designed for people arriving or leaving on foot as one either has a long walk the wrong way through the car park entrance or climbs over the broken fence! Food choice in evening very limited and expensive! Better to use Wetherspoons up the road in town! Noisy guests returning to room next door at 03 40 hours and then talking didn't help what turned out to be a disturbed night! O.K. for a one night stay if you HAVE to be in the area but not recommended for any longer!View management response »

everything was to our expectations as always from ibis hotels and their staff ample car parking provided the only slight problem is there is no direct acess to the footpath into town from the reception entranceView management response »

"Chatsworth Country Fair"

Stay there every year, easy to find. Contacted the hotel in the morning to have a ground floor room, the person coming with me, is disabled and they were able to help. Parking was limited but overall staff and the hotel was excellent. I would recommend to anyone.View management response »

"A lovely hotel"

I stayed in this hotel with my mum as a birthday present for her. We used this hotel as our base and traveled into the peak district each day to enjoy the attractions there. The hotel was fabulous, great location, free parking, very helpful staff. We ate 1 night in the hotel restaurant and the food was of a really high quality and delicious and I'd definately eat in their restaurant again. The only issue we had was the very high temperature of the room. The room was issued with a fan, but as the window only opened slightly we could not get enough air in to the room to air it out and as a result our sleep quality was less. This is the only negative thing we found about the hotel. But I would definately stay there again if I was in the area.View management response »

"Budget Hotel Budget price and Budget Quality"

We arrived 1155am at the hotel, knowing our checking was at 12. Thought 5 mins early wouldn't do any harm since we drove 7 hrs Chesterfield. Arrived at front desk with 2 receptionist were busy. Eventually been served without a mile. Gone thru formality of name etc then been told our family wasn’t ready. I then asked when would it be ready – her reply was she couldn’t tell me. I mention your check in time is at 12 correct? No apologies whatsoever but since I got a travel cot, she can book us in a double room………..I was too tired to argue. No help was offered to give us a hand. Found the lift as our room was on 2nd floor. Lift was small – merely fit 2 people next to each other. Maybe lucky 4-6 people squeezed in. Room was dark – for us décor was not important as long as it’s clean. Which it was until we open the bathroom. Hair was found and room was stinking. Later we found out it’s the water in the sink stinking of sewer water. Shower was fine. We had to buy water to make milk for our daughter.Bed was comfy but no air condition only a fan. Room was roasting. My daughter woke up several time because of the heat. We blamed on the weather until we went out – it was cold and raining……..As for location – its brilliant for driving but if you want to walk into town – you are pretty stuck. Have to walk over a ‘walk bridge’ to get a crossed the road and do a detour before you get there. Even you can see it only take you 5 mins. There is no ramp for buggy so we gave up and jump in our car to head to town and park there instead for dinner.View management response »
