Great hotel and nice to see old and new alongside each other.Staff were attentive and efficient and service of a high standard.Only a couple of areas for improvement1. Bed too soft2. Quilts should always be 1 size bigger than bed i.e. for Queens, king size quilt to be provided3. For a 5 star hotel expect coffee machine to be standard for room not having to request itI would recommend this hotel to others

I found the Sofitel London St James to be a fantastic hotel during my stay in London. Every little detail was taken care of by the ever vigilant hotel staff, who performed every function with extreme precision and grace. I could not find fault with anything during my stay. I would recommend this hotel to all. I look forward to my next visit in St James.

"Superb"

This hotel was just want we wanted and more. From the moment we set foot into the hotel the service was impeccible. What I really liked was the "genuine" attention to detail. A generous room upgrade for my wifes birthday, a cute little cake and chocolates in the room also. We used the hotel as a night off from thje kids and were looking for a good nights sleep / bolt hole and this was perfect. This felt to me like a hotel that really "wants" to give a great service. I spent a long time geming up on London Hotels before I booked and was quite intrigued at the number of excellent refrences this hotel had. Now I know why.

I've stayed in the Sofitel St James property many times. It's a top-notch hotel generally, but the service is particularly good. Rooms vary in size from a little tight to palatial. The gym is more of a fitness room, but if you just need cardio, it's fine. Complimentary wi-fi is a plus that an amazing number of other pricey hotels don't offer -- this hotel does.

"THE BODYGUARD STAY"

I stayed here with my daughter for a relaxing stay, and it was. We were made to feel very welcome and the reception and concierge were excellent. Breakfast was a little bit more chaotic but it was a busy weekend. I have stayed in London on a number of occasions, and I would say this hotel has a monopoly on the right attitude to their guests. Spa is well worth a visit as well.

"My favorite hotel in London"

The Sofitel St James is my favorite hotel in London. I always tried to stay here on business trips. Reasons are the excellent (central London) location, the "quiet luxury" atmosphere, the great service orientation, the excellent bar & restaurant and: the beds! Long enough for a tall Dutchman and very comfortable. These days I travel to London privately and I have tried some other hotels, but find myself returning to the Sofitel St James. Although the hotel is on the expensive side (hence, the score for value), I appreciate the benefits (as listed above) greatly.

Very competent and friendly staff. Without noticing lost my wallet in the bar containing money which promptly returned in the evening to my room. Great character of hotel and wonderfully located near shopping district.
