Excelent hotel, staff and services. The rooms are large, clean and noiseless. The breakfast is excelent! And the most important, is very well located, near the metro station, the checkpoint Charlie and there are many options of restaurants.

I stayed at the Mercure Hotel & Residenz Berlin Checkpoint Charlie in March 2012. Excellent hotel with large, very clean and attractive rooms. The hotel is located in the heart of the Mitte district of Berlin with plenty of shops and restaurants close by, while still being in a quiet side street of the famous Friedrichstrasse. I would go back to the hotel without any hestitation any time. There is free wifi, but the connection was a bit slow in the room where I stayed. The very nice bathroom with heated floor made up for it though.

We stayed here on the 3rd weekend in January so the city was fairly quiet.The hotel was perfectly located, just off friedrichstrasse and around the corner from checkpoint charlie and the kochstrasse u-bahn station.The hotel room was very large and spotlessly with a desk and seating area, separate shower room and toilet which is unusual but both were perfect.Hotel staff were more than helpful and a pleasure to deal with.I would definitely recommend this hotel for any stay in berlin.

The hotel location is very convenient for tourists, two block away from Checkpoint Charlie and close to two U-Bahn stations. The rooms are large, well-furnished and very clean. Breakfast was expensive, but there are bakeries and cafes close to the hotel.

Our trip to Berlin wAs excellent...we stayed at Mercure Checkpoint Charliewhich was an excellent choice First class everything inc. staff My husband was taken ill and was takento hospital, this again was a Good experience, even though we wished it hadn,t happened

excellent location and value. everyone helpful. a well variety of breakfast choices in a european style setting. everyone spoke english so no language barriers if you dont speak german. cute bar in hotel, nice lobby with free internet,computer and printer at your disposal 24/7 and i know because we used it at 4 am to check our airline flights.

A great hotel in a very central location. Rooms were spacious and clean. Recommend staying for breakfast - a great selection of food. Only one tip - put your 'do not disturb sign' on the door to stop staff waking you too early!

Excellent breakfast! Don't miss it. Excellent rooms and attention. The hotel should tell their hosts that to do laundry they should bring the bag of durty clothes to the reception desk (??!!). An old building totally well refurbished, everything looks new. To get to know Berlin as a tourist, the location is fabulous, near Check Point Charlie, Potsdam Platz and metro stations.

Almost everything was excellent: good location, big room, excellent breakfast and pleasant reception staff. Though the room was cleaned every day, there were minor details that should have been seen to: a missing bath mat one day, no soap on another. Also there was a bottle of water on the table on arrival but the charge for it was €3.50. Free wifi is available in the hall but if you want it the rooms you have to pay.

Good hotel in good quiet central location. Perfect for family of 4. Two double beds in ajoining rooms. Right by Checkpoint Charlie without the crowds. Staff friendly and helpful. Had breakfast out. Near StadtMitte U-Bahn.

Great service, great hotel, great room. Too bad the breakfast is too expensive so I did not opt for it, also would have liked to have free wireless access!Would recommend it to friends and acquaintances.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. They provide an efficient service with excellent attitude and manners towards their guests. The location could have been better but is managable. I stayed in a big room that could have accomodated 3 more people. Will most definitely stay at this hotel again.

Quiet location, perhaps a little far away from Berlin's pulsating heart, but a few steps from U-bahn station Berlin Stadtmitte. Friendly and professional staff. Spoken English level excellent (I didn't try Italian). Large and comfortable rooms (we stayed in a suite, indeed). No coffee maker inside nor complimentary cofee/tea available, though. I would recommend this hotel. to anyone
