ibis Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Accomodating staff"

22nd May 2012, LouieNZ, Napier, New Zealand

A warm welcome form front of house staff on arrival and this continued through our short stay and followed on from all staff, restaurant staff included.Very handy to all CBD areas with the facility being very clean and tidy pretty much throughout.Value for money rating based on the size of the rooms predominantly.

ibis Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "City Break"

18th May 2012, Annied1162, Wanaka, New Zealand

Great to stay right in the centre of the city and walk out the door and have everything available. Great coffee at the hotel, stop on the way in the door for a coffee or drink and watch everyone walk by.Helpful front desk staff , for directions and bus advice to airport.

ibis Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Value for Money"

8th May 2012, Benson10_12, Townsville, Australia

We stayed 2 nights at the Ibis. The rooms were clean the facilities were great and the staff were all very helpful. Although it is not an upmarket motel the ibis more than catered to our needs and i would definately reccomend the Hotel to friends.Proximity to the shops, Westpac stadium and bars was excellent.

ibis Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Value for money stay"

ibis Wellington: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Economic Comfortable Accommodation"

1st May 2012, brandane69, Auckland, New Zealand

Twin room with two queen size beds was very comfortable ~ room was smallish but adequate ~with good toilet/shower facilities and amenities. Reception was friendly and helpful ~ and in house restaurant and bar very good ~ with discount offered within Lucky Fortune cookie on checkin ~ a novelty extra.Location was ideal, a short walk from Lambton Quay and the Airporter Express bus, and close to good shopping, restaurants and bars. Also 5 minute walk to Railway Station and Bluebridge Ferry Terminal for South Island ferries. Te Papa and City and Sea Museums a short walk from the hotel. This hotel is excellent value for the price charged and I will certainly use again on my next visit to the Capital ~ or for overnight transit to Bluebridge Picton ferry.

ibis Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Two nights at the Ibis"

26th April 2012, ReeceNZ, Hastings, New Zealand

On our arrival reception area was very busy but everyone seemed to get processed at a quick rate. So check in was short and fast great service all questions answered. Our room was very clean & spaces & value for money. We had dinner in the restaurant that night service was good and the meal was excellent and again good value. Overall we would recommend and stay again at the Ibis.

12th April 2012, Christchurch, New Zealand

Enjoyed our stay very much and the Ibis is very well located and witin walking distance of all the main city and water front sites.I feel as because we stayed for 6 nights that 2 comfortable chairs to watch TV at night would have made the stay much more comfortable rather than sitting or lying on the bed.

ibis Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great, But....."

5th April 2012, Auckland Central, New Zealand

Everything was very good until there was an intrusive announcement into the room which was very loud which gave us a fright, and at first I thought there was a fire or similar emergency, but it was only about earth hour and then there was another same loud announcement later. (What if we had been asleep?). This was all uncalled for as there had been a letter under the door about earth hour, this should have been enough. This spoilt a lovely stay at this hotel.

View management response »

Management responseDear Accorhotels Traveller,Thank you for your feedback regarding the announcement that the hotel made to remind guests about Earth Hour. Ibis Wellington participates in Earth Hour every year and as well as a letter that we provided in the room we also do a announcement just prior to 8:30pm to let guests know that Earth Hour is about to start just in case they wish to participate. I am sorry if you found this intrusive and I have taken your comments on board for next year. We will ensure that the announcements are included in the letter so that all guests are aware that they will take place and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.Kind regards,Nathan FrostGeneral Manager

The location is great for accessing the railway end of town. Just opposite is a great little cafe, restaurant Thunderbird which I would highly recommend. The only gripe I have with this hotel is the doors aren't particularly soundproof and the shower is extremely tight.

ibis Wellington: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great location"

30th March 2012, TonyRotoruaNZ

Stayed only the one night. This hotel is in a great location and very handy to most things. My primary objective being Westpac Stadium for the football. Only about a 10-15 minute walk and all flat. The rooms are reasonably well appointed considering it is the budget line but found all the facilities here were very good and the staff were both freindly & helpful. Would definitely stay here again

ibis Wellington: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Featherston St Wellington"

23rd March 2012, Auckland, New Zealand

When I go to Wellington I try to stay at Ibis. Good location. Good facilities for what I usually need. Good breakfast. Had a good dinner on a Sunday night when everything else was closed. So good on all counts.Price too, except for one night last year when a price gouging rate of $250 for a $149 room was offered. I didn't take it and expressed my disgust. Didn't get anywhere though.Found your survey above unclear. Is it 'excellent' to the left and 'terrible' to the right. If so why does it fill up from the left?

ibis Wellington: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Credit Card Charges and Internet Charges take the edge off the stay"

13th March 2012, waiheke, Auckland New Zealand

The hotel is in a good location in the centre of Wellington walking distance to most things a typical Ibis hotel. My room was slightly larger than most Ibis but a standard room layout, clean and comfortable. Small windows without a view. Compact but functional bathroom with powerful shower. Front desk staff friendly and efficient. Limited parking available under the hotel at $25.00 per night.Internet – all rooms have wired broadband internet, maybe but not at a price this traveller is willing to pay, $14.90 for 2 hours! When will hotel chains get real? If humble B&Bs can offer free internet access why not the chains with their superior buying power? Today’s traveler expects communication access as much as expecting clean water to come out of the taps in the bathroom. Fortunately thanks to some switched on businesses in Wellington there is a FREE WiFi service called ‘cbdfree’ It is a little slow and gives access in 30 minute bites but thank you ‘cbdfree’ for the service. My other gripe is Ibis have now started to charge 1.5% on top of the bill for guests wanting to pay with a credit card. This leaves a bad taste in this travellers mouth. Why not build the charges into the advertised price so when potential guests are looking they can compare apples with apples?

View management response »

Management responseDear waiheke,Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us at Ibis Wellington especially your constuctive feedback regarding Internet pricing at the hotel. Unfortunately the infrastructure involved for a hotel to provide Internet compared to a small hotel is vastly different however we do provide free Internet in the lobby and also two complimentary terminals in the lobby for guests to use and we are always looking at opportunities to enhance the offering. Your comments have been taken on board regarding credit card surcharges. Pre-paid online bookings do not incur this charge and any account can be settled at the hotel with eftpos which also does not incur a charge. Kind regards,Nathan FrostGeneral Manager

Golfing team in Hotel, the day of check out they were the leaving same time as us, only one person left to man the desk. Waitress very nice but English not good, returned to take our order only a few seconds after she had given us menu. Please take these as constructive comments. Hotel is otherwise very good. This was our third stay and we will continue to use your hotel.
