I found the Mecure great. The only comment I could pass on is that instead of little cups in the rooms there should be mugs - to get a decent drink and maybe a few more tea bags. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The young lady who made the cocktails on Saturday night made them to perfection.

Great location, within minutes (walking) of main shopping area. Could not fault the service - approachable and helpful. The room was fresh and clean and quite roomy. The rooms are quite insulated so we did not hear much in the way of noise. Breakfast in the room was great (even though you only had a choice of a healthy breakfast (cereal, etc) or a big breakfast (eggs/bacon, etc). Wish we had had a longer stay. The only draw back I found was the hotel was looking a little worn, the corridors a bit uninviting - like most hotel corridors - no windows. The cost while not unreasonable and comparable to other hotels, I always sort of resent because I am only there to sleep not to hang out all day. All in all - pretty good.
"Tasty Restaurant Menu"
14th September 2013, Mount Gambier
Great stay at the Mercure Geelong -On site parking, restaurant menu was very tasty and staff more than helpful even though very busy with large convention. Best of all only a short walk to the football. I would definitely recommend this Motel

Reasonable hotel at reasonable prices in a regional area. Suited our needs. Is a little dated. Car access/car park tight and a little confusing to a first timer. Did the job. Not the Hotel's fault there was an AFL final that day and that Geelong lost.Thank you.
"Top floor Top room"

Try for room with bay view and make sure to dine in house at the restaurant. Room was very spacious, great shower, great view of city and Corio Bay and a good location for shopping and strolling around the city and waterfront area.
"ENJOYABLE WEEK AWAY"
4th September 2013, Threechildren123, Newcastle, Australia
Prompt check in. Upgraded to a lovely view over Cario Bay in a spacious room . Ate breakfast and dinner twice over our stay in the restaurant. Drink service was slow but enjoyed our meals and found staff pleasant. Parking was extra. Didnt get to use the gym or pool on this occasion but would stay again. Easy walk from hotel into Central Part of town. Pleasant drives can be taken around Geelong and along the waterfront.
"Not good for a quiet nights sleep"
3rd September 2013, Restful2013, Sydney, Australia
As a business traveller it is important that you can get a quiet nights sleep. Unfortunately many hotels including this hotel have major air-conditioning problems. The air-conditioning was like a freight train with the temperature control not working. It was either that or a noisy street below with the window open. Thank goodness for ear plugs. It is a pity because everything else was about OK, just need to fix up the shabby hallway.

We took train from Melbourne to Geelong and Mecure is about 10 minute walk. We were in Geelong for football so found that we were about a five minute walk to Simmonds Stadium which was fantastic. We had two more days there and the main shopping area and the waterfron were about five minute walk - so handy. Mecure was clean and we had a spacious room with a great view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Recommend it to all.
"good for the footy"
29th August 2013, Cats1965, Adelaide, Australia
It was with in walking distance to the football, we enjoyed the movie package and food was delivered to the room quickly even though they were busy. Breakfast was ok but would be abit expensive if not included in deal. For a family to stay for 199.00 including movies, car park, room and breakfast was a great deal.
"Weekend stay at Mecure Geelong"
22nd August 2013, Echuca, Australia
Great place to stay, had a family room which was spacious enough for us. Bit cold for the pool but we will be back in summer. Gym equipment bit old but still useable. Spent afternoon having drink at the bar watching the football bar staff very friendly. Went to the restaurant for dinner good meals but would have liked to see more seafood on the menu.Overall great place to stay used my free night from Accor Advantage Plus and was very welcomed and will be back.

we enjoyed the view of the bay at night, and the hotel was convenient and easy to find. we had no trouble to find a car park and it was easy to book a room for the date we wanted and fast and polite service from the front office at checkin.
"Nice place pity about the parking charges"
31st July 2013, ne_quine, Aberdeen, Scotland
We stayed over here after our flight from New Zealand so we were that bit closer to the start of the Great Ocean Road. My Sat Nav seemed to have a bit of a problem finding the place but eventually we arrived and drove into the very overpriced car park!Check-in was very efficient and we were off to our room where it more than met our expectations. Large enough to accommodate our luggage and more importantly after travelling – a comfy bed! The bathroom wasn’t the largest ever but was very modern – it looked like it had been not long refurbished unlike the main room that could be done with a makeover. We appreciated the view over the bay in the morning as it was dark when we arrived. We did contemplate going to the bar to have a late supper/some drinks but there seemed to be a conference going on in the hotel (and why there wasn’t much spaces left in the overpriced car park) and the patrons sounded a tad noisy hanging out in the bar so we gave it a wide berth.Check-out was just as efficient and we were on our merry way to travel the Great Ocean Road.

Had a lovely stay with my husband and baby in a Queen Bay View room. Room was great - fantastic size, great bathroom, very clean - we were very impressed!! Only negative would be the pillows, which were very thin and flat, but there were extra ones in the cupboard so it wasn't too bigger deal. Breakfast good for the price. Would definitely stay here again!View management response »

"NOT AS ADVERTISED"
24th July 2013, giddo909, Swan Hill, Australia
We chose a studio apartment for the extra room and cooking facilities as we didn't want to rush down and have a big breakfast, rather enjoy the sleep in. The apartment was roomy enough however a bit dated with curtains that are in need of replacing, there was a cook plate but however no pans only 2 pots and no toaster. We paid the extra for these comforts and were told when we rang reception that we would have to go down to the dinning room to toast our bread, not what you want to do when trying to relax. The room was over priced, we could have stayed at the Gand in Melbourne, which is a much nicer hotel for less money.View management response »
