« Family holiday »

Have been staying at Mercure Geelong for 20 years and have enjoyed our time, but those years have not weathered well and the building and surrounds show it.... Major reno's required not just a lick of paint.

« Terrible »

This hotel really lets the whole company down. We like to stay in Accor hotels because we know they will always be good, but this one is a disgrace. The room had huge patches on the ceiling and walls and a massive crack up the corner. One chair was broken and filthy and the other was badly stained. The staff in the restaurant during breakfast were appalling. They looked busy and got absolutely nothing none. An extremely dissapointing place to stay.

« Terrible beds »

Whilst most of this hotel was comfortable, the beds were like sleeping on slabs of concrete. I did make a suggestion to the front desk that this needs to be rectified, as most hotels now, even the average ones, have pillow top mattresses. Other than that, the hotel was pretty nice overall.

« Mercure Geelong Weekend Away »

The staff were nice and friendly, the hotel is good. Room service is not too bad as we didn't have to wait too long. The food in the restaurant is really good and our servers are really friendly and accommodating. However, the room... The aircon is not working, it was blowing hot air instead of cold air even if you set the temperature to the lowest which is 10 degrees. The bathroom is a bit squashy and we were only provided 2 towels to use the following day when there is 4 of us checked in. The swimming pool is not heated considering that Geelong weather is pretty much cold all the time, they could have considered the add heating in the pool, otherwise its just a display because no can can ever use it. You have to pay for parking overnight as well, I would assume this would be free for guests. I appreciated the welcome bottle of water in the room when we arrived and the welcome drinks too.
