Stayed for 6 nights. We'd never been to Melbourne before so the location was fantastic for exploring Melbourne and being close to all public transport

Not a pleasant check in & out. Staff kept asking us to pay more for stay & breakfast. Room was dirty & smelly.

This was my third stay at the Mercure Welcome and the most disappointing. The room was clean and roomy, the bathroom just right with a fabulous shower, but there was a lot not to like. The room was hot and airless and the air conditioning very noisy - so it was either sweat through the night or listen to the roar of the a/c. There was a constant wind whistling around and under the door, which just added to two sleepless nights. The fridge was also very noisy, and should ideally be enclosed (as is the norm in most hotels).
