This is not a 3 star hotel it’s probably 3 stars at a stretch. Upon entering the Hotel down the hallway towards reception, there was a terrible, sewage smell all . The furniture needed reupholstering and cleaned. Big stain marks on the chairs in reception. Our shower definitely needed attention, mould in, the corner and rusty hinges on the shower door. The water fountain in the hallway., Lovely idea but never cleaned properly. The stainless steel drip tray was dirty and water marked. The staff were lovely sadly, overworked. Some had no idea like the waiter who bought me a slice of lemon on a napkin in his hand. We went up to the rooftop bar, stepped out of the lift to be greeted by two filthy glass doors to step out onto the rooftop. It was appalling, needs a big revamp, & perhaps some live plants in the planter boxes instead of dead ones. no atmosphere at all. The wrought iron chairs were very uncomfortable, and we had to ask for a cushion as you could not sit on them for a long time . I took a friend as my guest & i had to keep apologising to her, as it was so embarrassing. We had to keep going back to reception to have our door key reset so we could get into the room. Beds were comfortable & linen was good. Trying to operate a machine at the buffet breakfast to make a pot of tea or coffee was very frustrating. Everyone seem to Have troubles with it not only me. Halfway through pouring hot water into a teapot, it would run through a resetting process & stop what it was making. It would’ve been much nicer to order tea or coffee with the waiter. Would I stay here again NO. I was so disappointed as the website showed a much newer cleaner Hotel. Apparently it had been renovated in 2019, it really needs a good renovation again. To say that I was so disappointed is an understatement as I was taking my friend away who had been recovering from breast cancer as a treat, I was so embarrassed it wasn’t funny.

Crickets in room kept us awake most of night. Purchased pest spray and killed the cricket we thought but came back next night or new cricket arrived. Staff manager was good and let me off $70 of drinks. I had to insist as it was hard to achieve this compensation. After two disturbing nights I did expect more of a good will gesture. Apart from this incident we were very happy and enjoyed our stay apart from being tired all day. Thanks

Great location. Great service from staff in the lounge and the breakfast and evening drinks and canapes were excellent . Check in area on ground level underwhelming in appearance for the standard of the hotel. Did not receive birthday acknowledgement in our room even though it was noted in booking. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back.
