Have family at Coffs Harbour stay at Pacific Bay love it. It gives us a nice little holiday every couple of months for a few days. (young grandchildren) We hire a one bedroom apartment buy some food at local shop for a couple of light meals. Also eat at 'Charlies' restaurant. Facilites e.g. pools, grounds are relaxing. Suitable for any age. Try it out not as expensive as you might think. Christine Pont

When you arrive at a hotel after having driven all day, it would be helpful if the reception person didn't ignore you and take off with some other new arrivals. He could have said hello, someone will be with you shortly or told the person in the back room to attend to me. Instead someone came out some minutes later and went oh, hello. Later while at the restaurant another person came down and asked if it was a hotel - when asked why, she said why isn't there someone on reception. The restaurant staff were excellent as usual and the food was again great. The flywire door to the balcony in the room was covered in dust - it was thick at the top (next day when the sun was on the room it wasn't so obvious) and there was gecko dirt down the wall in the shower which wasn't good either. On trying to leave, we couldn't as there was a truck parked across the two persons parked in the disabled bays. We searched for someone and found nobody. Thankfully a fellow came from the lift with a chair, so I asked him whose truck it was - he said it was IBM's and tried to page him immediately. My husband decided to take the key back as we urgently needed to leave. Twenty minutes later a fellow wandered towards me on the phone - I realised this was the fellow who had parked us in and told him to hurry up. His response was they have only just called me - I knew that wasn't true. Spoilt a place that I have stayed at numerous times which is a shame!

We have been staying at this property quite a lot over the years and it is very obvious that the rooms are looking very tired, definately needs some money spent on updating the condition. Breakfast was overpriced and therefore we did not choose to eat there.

Booking prepaid (3 nights) by our son an Accor member Front Desk did not accept Accor vouchers for food. Front desk staff positive and friendly; let down by accommodation. Charlie's Bar lost food order 1st night - did not return, ate elsewhere. King bed very poor, needs replacement. Other furniture threadbare Exhaust fan inoperable in ensuite Tile floor surfaces pealing off in shower. Resembles poor 3rd world standard Tired & dilapidated condition - even door hinges squeak. Very disappointing and cannot recommend this hotel. Expect a minimum 50% refund of room charge. Richard J Barton.
it was hard to find reception in the rain, and staff I asked the way we're very rude. NTE reception staff were slow and indifferent to the needs of those waiting to register. Nit was worse on departure, when two of the three staff members present watch the other deal - very slowly - with several of us trying to check.out ant get away. The room I had was not properly cleaned, and had an early 70s feel. When booking I was informed there was free wifi. But the room wifi was a pay service from a private provider. NTE free wifi was in the conference area - 200 metres away through the rain. I booked for dinner at 7. I stood at the entrance for 10 minutes. The staff members who were around avoided eye contact. No one said "I'll be with you" or anything else. When I walked in and sought out a staff member, they showed they were annoyed with me. Bogey sat me down, and I was the totally ignored for 20 minutes. I then ordered a predinner during, and entree with a glass of white wine, and a main with a glass of red. Nothing for 10 minutes. Then the predinner drink arrived, 40 minutes after my arrival. Network minutes latter, the red and white wines both arrived! This was really weird - I've just never experienced this before. The entree arrived 20 minutes later - well over an hour after my arrival. It seems the staff here had no idea how a restaurant should work.
