"Cheap cheerful and value"

Fantastic value, with large rooms free parking , and a good location close to the railway and short trip to central city. Staff were very helpful and some rooms had beautiful views of Mt Pilatus.

The Ibis chain has always offered value for money, but sometimes disappointed with the facilities. The Ibis at Kriens is an exception. The staff are friendly and attentive and there is a 24/7 food and drink service. The hotel is clean and well maintained and is exceptional value for money compared to other hotels in Lucerne. Rooms are spacious for the price with good bathrooms (shower only). Buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied.The slight downside is the location. It is well outside the main town and there is only a bus service into town, which we weren't around long enough to master, unless you're willing to pay for an expensive taxi. Local facilities do include a small number of restaurants and bars, but otherwise you are essentially in the middle of a business and retail park, surrounded by car dealerships on all sides. The compensation is the view of the surrounding mountains and, in my case, the fact that I was a 2 minute walk from my client's offices.

Location is purely in industrial area, other than that everything fine. Breakfast was really good and very much convinient to travel in train from Luzern station. If some good resturent available inside that will be more convinient.

We were driving through the area and wanted a bed for the night . This ticked that box and the staff seemed very friendly and helpful. However the walls were paper thin, I am not a light sleeper but noise from next door(conly talking) woke me up. It was quite a long walk( about 25mins) into the village -other than a Mc Donalds this was the only option to get food.

Arrived somewhat jaded after trip from Tuscany. Four hours in traffic queue at Gothard Tunnel, didn't get to Hotel until 21.45. Too weary to look for something to eat so used Macdonalds nearby (not my favourite). Everything about Hotel was very good but was disturbed by noise from people leaving nearby bars and club.

The hotel is difficult to reach for the first timer to Kriens. it should have been guided on the booking to take a train. The hotel like this should have basic things like a tea pot/ coffee/ packs for the day in the room for a self service. In absence of this it becomes too boring to stay in hotel room except to sleep. The staff is minimal but OK.

This hotel is ideally placed near the motorway and the take pets, so practical and convenient for anyone just wanting to stop over but not much more. The surroundings are residential and there is just one very good but expensive restaurant nearby, otherwise it's back into your car to go into town. I booked a room for 1 or 2 people but when I arrived I was told that the rate I received was for 1 person..... and paid hefty surcharge for my wife.

We usually stay in ibis hotels but that was a bit different.The room was a bit smaller, tv was also small - I don´t need a big one but that was too small. There wasn´t any big lamp in the room just 3 small. Well, ok, it gave a nice romantic light.There was enough light from the window - so these are small things. But there was a big shutter in front of the window what you can close or open but we couldn´t roll it up - so it messed up the view.There wasn´t any vegetable for the breakfast but when I asked I got some tomatos. But it was a small lemon juice for the tee (big plus point!).That was our first trip with car and we went every day to somewhere so the location was really good for us. There was a gas station and a small discount store nearby. We got discount for the parking.Sleeping... our neighbours were a bit loud and arrived late (they stayed just for 2 days and the new ones were ok).I don´t have allergy where I live now but here I had, actually in the whole Switzerland except on the mountains.I think it was expensive compare with the other ibis hotels where we were (Munich, Berlin, Budapest) so far but in the other hand Switzerland is expensive, so compared with other hotels in Switzerland it was a cheap one.

The hotel is located close (8-10 mins walk) to Kriens Mathenhoff railway station. The rooms were so neat and clean. The staffs were very polite and helpful, they even helped us in deciding upon the best tourist locations to visit. Its worth for the money.
