"Good quality/price relationship"

You get what you pay for. This is a quality inexpensive hotel from Accor. Rooms are a little old, with old tube type TVs. Rooms are very small. Bathroom is ok but I didn't like the liquid shampoo/soap dispenser in the shower. Internet is free, relatively fast, and password free all over the place. Breakfast is good. Location is ok if you go for tourism, but you will prefer something outside the colonial city if you go for business.

"Good hotel in the heart of Zona Colonial, Santo Domingo."

This hotel was ideal for what I needed; great location in the heart of the Colonial Zone, Santo Domingo; sufficiently equipped with the basic amenities and good wi-fi connection. The breakfast menu was alright. I have stayed in this hotel 3 times, and would still return to this hotel in the future.
"Budget of Sorts"

If you're used to paying any where from 50-80 for a hotel and consider that budget, then by all means that's what this is. The staff is friendly enough I guess, but not very warm and helpful. This hotel is probably more ideal of business travelers that need to be in the Colonial district or the ones that just don't want to stay in city proper. The price is far less than that of the other 2 ACCOR hotels or the Renaissance Jaragua just down the road. The room was basic, the breakfast buffet was good, atmosphere was okay, so all in all not good not bad, just average.

"dining room service"

i stayed at the mercure my 5th time 4 yrs. i enjoy my stay here, friendly staff. i was there last year 2010 during renovation and new elevator installation.my only complaint this trip was the breakfast service daily. 7.10 am - 7.15 amtables still not set, salt and pepper were always missing., breakfast line was rushed, no serving spoon for scramble eggs, no clip to pick up beacon,, bread is ready but no butter,,i didnt make a scene but i notice guests walking and retreiving utensils and salt and pepper from other tables and shaking their heads .pls try to be ready at 7.00 am, we know sometimes there are delays.i do understand there were few new staff in the dining room,. however i will still return for my next trip soon, i always get my requested room so i can see in the street and get all the sun at my desk, santos is always helpful over the years to address concerns.

"Perfect location. Modern hotel. Reasonable. Great staff. Noisy a-c."

Right on pedestrian El Conde in the Zona Colonial, it's in the best location. Rooms are small but adequate. Rooms are musty if they have been previously empty and a/c not running. A-c disturbs sleep in room and open window allows central a/c compressor noise in. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating; best aspect of hotel.

The bed was very comfortable, the room small but adequate, the food apart from the breakfast, which was excellent, definitely was not value for money. US $50 for what we had on New Year's Eve was a bit of a rip-off! All the staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. The only big failing was that there is no parking for cars.

nice everything good except the tiles in the shower were slippery when wet had to put a towel in the shower floor to keep from slipping
