« Convenience »

Nelspruit Mercure Hotel has one overall advantage, and that is convenience. It is right next door to Ilanga Shopping Mall, one of the biggest commercial centers in the city, and soon to almost double in size. Besides, the location, and easy access to other points of interest in Nelspruit, like the stadium and towns near by, the hotel offers a comfortable stay in an African environment, even if it's almost in the heart of the town.

« An average place.... »

The pool was cold and could have been cleaner. However we went swimming a few times. The people/staff were very pleasant and helpful. Their scheduling of our trip to Kruger was excellent. Be sure you request Steven as your guide - he was awesome. The service at the bar needs improving as we had a difficult time locating someone to serve us. The ladies that clean the rooms are awesome. Friendly and very helpful. We stayed two different times at this hotel and would probably do so again. Located across the street from the mall and the many restaurants near by was awesome for us.

« very dissapointed »

« Good bit no water one morning »

Good hotel in nelspruit. friendly staff with good service. Unfortunately no water one morning couldn't shower. Apparently the council shut the water, but other arrangements should have been made. Otherwise a good stay

« Terrible front desk and manager didnt answer email »

We checked in this weekend (Friday) at around midday and we encountered a very rude front desk woman. I didn’t get her name as I could barely get an answer to my questions. She is a young black woman and you could reference who was working but I encountered very rude and bad manners, which I am shocked about given a front desk person needs to be service orientated. She barley looked at me, didn’t smile and was quite rude. We booked the room via your website and the letter said that it was paid. She said it wasn’t paid on their system, so I said, let me check with my bank and later once I have settled my baby (who at this point was very restless) I would come sort it out. She refused to accept that, and another lady had to intervene and give the ok (as I was pretty frustrated with this). I explained that I did not want the double payment issue and would settle and she ignored me. She checked us in to a room. I asked where it was and she ignored me. I eventually got directions and asked how would we move all our things (cot and baby pram etc) and she said well she would have to get us a concierge and didn’t call (he happened to be walking past and I asked for help). The room was upstairs. I asked her how can she give us a room with stairs knowing we have a baby and lots of luggage, how will we to carry this? So she said it was the first room clean. The other lady jumped in, as she could see my rising anger, and found a ground floor room immediately. I had to repeatedly ask if she could respond to my question as she refused to look at me, kept staring at her computer screen. I am totally shocked that someone like this is at front desk and my husband, being a chef in industry, pretty much said this is gross service. BUT the man who was serving the following morning and when we checked out Sunday, was such a pleasure and made up for it. I just think you need to see to it that she doesn’t anger other clients and commend the man (didn’t get his name) who made my morning better.

« Nice place-easy to find-opposite mall with restaurants etc »

Right on the main road about a kilometre from the city centre (NB take nelspruit exit off the N4 as by pass now open) gated with efficient security Quick friendly efficient check in, can park outside rooms - I had a mini suite which was enormous. Two beds, settee, desk, table, big fridge microwave, twin hot plate and utensils for two inc plates, cups, glasses etc Clean but a tad dated with metal windows and the odd blemish Big kettle with t and coffee. Large TV but limited channels Bath and separate shower cubicle - plenty of hot water I ate in the restaurant on all four nights (but could just as easily have walked just across the road into the shopping mall which had a good choice of restaurants and coffee shops) Two nights a buffet was available and was good value but with limited number of dishes. Wine exceptionally well priced Had a la carte the other two nights and food was good. I especially liked the periperi chicken livers which came as medium or hot as a starter and steak topped with cheese etc as main course Hotel seemed busy with people during the day but very quiet at night. I understand it gets pretty full at weekends when folks from Mozambique come to shop Loungers round clean pool and I was able to sit out even though it was midwinter Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and especially grateful to the very helpful staff member who knocked on my door to check I was ok after my called to say she couldn't get in touch (knocked phone off hook!) « Mercure standards are different »

A nice hotel, impressive Lobby facing the swimming pool. Check-in was slower than expected (but acceptable). Upon arrival an electricity cut off welcomed us. My room was far from the reception and when I got there the electronic key was not working and I had to walk my way back to have it fixed. No welcome drink, only standard wi-fi (I was offered premium access which I refused). Dinner was ok, at breakfast I asked for poached eggs and I was adviced to have scrambled ones, in order to reduce waiting time. All in all a nice place, but service might have been better.

« Very poor custumer driving solution »

I did not stayed in the hotel, as the second room I've booked (not paid) was not in the system and the front desk were very much worry on providing proof of "my" mistake than to lissen to my need. So the part of my satisfation is your priority, does not apply to Mercure Hotel in Nelspruit. I however did find a nice place with a great view, free and excelent internet service and warm enviroment, so for sure Mercure Nelspruit will be my second option for now on. So I've paid, but I did not occupay the room, as I was not able to leave my friend alone in another hotel, as there was no agreement on at least provide me with a voucher or so.

« excellent »

Fantastic family units. The hotel is located next to the mall with many amenities. Staff was friendly and help full. I would have prefered more channels on your TV. Rooms were very clean and spacious.

« Good value for room »

Great location, room was great, plenty of space, well equipped. Crisp white sheets, hotel has improved since our last visit. Good location for Illanga Mall. Breakfast not worth R130..suggest Mugg and Bean!

« Relaxing Overnight »

Clean, affordable and great, professional staff! - Nelspruit is the door for the panorama route, near to Kruger Park and used as a shopping and medical destination from people leaving in Maputo...Mercure Hotel is one of the best options in town.
