The location close to Colesseum is very central. Metro stations are at Colosseum (Line B) or 10- 15 min walk (Line A).The room was a little worn out, the bathroom small but clean and the fittings were new.The roof garden is very nice in the evening.
"Not to standard"

Travelling the world and found this hotel a let down.Tiny room that smelt and had stained carpets and mould in shower.. Good location but only average breakfast.
"2nd time here, so that says it all"
4th May 2012, RandyKasal, Iowa
Fantastic location to see the major historical sites. The Colosseo is two blocks away and within view. Vatican City is easily walkable. Like Accor staff everywhere I've been, the staff here are top in personality and helpfulness. My rooms both stays were small because I chose the smaller rooms. Perfect for a solo traveller. Shower is small, but this is a major tourist capital city and that is to be expected for under Euro 200. I will stay here next time I am in Rome.

Management responseDear Guest,I wish to thank you for leaving a comment about your stay at the Mercure Roma Delta Colosseo.I can confirm that we are currently heaving some refurbishment works that will give a completely new look to our rooms and some other areas of our hotel, I agree with you that under some aspect that was really needed. We have been informing our Guests of the coming works through our Internet site as you can certainly read in the sales condition of your booking, and, of course, it has been mentioned on nearly all our reviews for months on Trip Advisor too.I am very happy I can say that there is a very reduced impact on our normal activity, the side involved is completely isolated from the rest of the hotel. We only had to move the breakfast service to our Bar area, reducing the cost according to the offer.I am sorry you could not have dinner in the hotel but, as you know, we do not have a Restaurant. We can still serve a wide selection of salads and snacks in our Bar, but if you are looking for a proper dinner you can ask our Reception staff to suggest you one of the many good restaurant present in the area.I thank you again for your review and look forward to welcoming you again in our hotel.Best RegardsLaura AlbanoGeneral ManagerMercure Roma Delta Colosseo

"Location"

Located 5mins from the Colosseum and metro station easy accesss to all the main attractions. Excellent restaurants in the area just of the main streets. The hotel is well maintaned and the staff are very friendly and helpful.Breakfast is varied to suit all tastes and of a high quality. It is only a Eur 30 flat rate taxi ride from Ciampino airport.

"High value for money"
16th March 2012, Fontainebleau, France
Friendly staff willing to give best service. Easy and fast booking of taxi for instance. Breakfast was medium in range but high in quality, price for american breakfast was only 15 euros. No evening restaurant in the hotel and not so many really good restaurants in the immediate area. We had selected a three bed room and it was spacious and nice with almost separate sleeping plus TV for the third single bed. It also had a small balcony with a nice view away from the main steet. Lighting in the bathroom was poor and no make up mirror was provided. Taxi from the airport (Fiumicino) was 40 euros. Coliseum is very close and from there the guided round trip buses can be reached as well. Public buses need a ticket to be bought prior to the trip. The closest tobacco shop for this purpose was closed on our arrival day, Sunday.
"Goof place and hotel"

Very nice hotel, located very close to the turistic places at rome and easy to find, just one negative point is the sound isolation, the traffic noise in the morning. In the end very satistactory stay at Rome?
"A rugby weekend"
20th February 2012, Reigate, United Kingdom
Superb service from a small hotel right by the Colosseum - with rooms that were small, but perfect. Outstanding bar/lounge with no food per-se, but an unbelievably helpful lady called Sara who willingly knocked up snacks as we drank.A way from the Stadium, but easy taxi access and a pleasure to stay there.
"poor room quality! good (not great!) for sightseeing and not worth 4 star quality!"
16th February 2012
Rome is a beautiful city for tourist visit, but i would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone else, as it is overrated as a 4star hotel.there were sound of water dripping (every 5 to 10s) during the night! for those who is easily awaken, it'll definitely ruin your day as you won't get a good night sleep!other than that, the shower is so small that you can barely turn around or bend down to wash your feet. also, the shower water pressure is so slow that its hardly up to the standard of a 4 star hotel.as for the staff attitude, I'd grade them a good job answering all my question. however, the Manager on duty (during my last day stay) is very rude. i was having some problem and the staff on duty wasn't able to answer me, thus the manager (who was standing just next to the staff) was providing him with answers. however he even look at the staff or me (talk to me directly) but kept busying his own task while telling the staff the answer and the staff just repeat whatever he says.the good thing about this hotel is that it is easy to find (location from Colosseo Metro wise) and its very near to the Colosseum site.

"6 Nations Italy-England Rugby Trip"
15th February 2012, La Hulpe, Belgium
Well placed hotel near the Colisseum and Roman Forum. San Clemente Church is just over the road which has been a place of wordhip since Roman times. Metro station within easy walking distance. A tram stops outside the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good amenities including wi-fi and, for those without a laptop, free use of a desk-top - my son and I were able to print out our return boarding passes for free on the hotel's machine. Room and shower room were small but had everything we wanted {except tea making facilities but these are rare in hotels in continental Europe). Fairly basic hotel buffet breakfast but a big step up from when I stayed there 10 years ago - Italians don't do breakfast!
"Don't expect 4 star luxury"
19th January 2012, Barcelona, Spain
I had read some Trip Advisor comments on this hotel before arriving and was prepared for some dissatisfaction concerning the state of the rooms. The hotel is in need of refurbishment, new carpets and furniture, in particular. The room we were first given did indeed have stains in the carpet and a leaking minibar and a safe that didn't work. However the reception staff were most helpful and we were given the choice of several other rooms and finally got one that was perfectly acceptable. There did seem to be a problem with the heating. Our room was too hot for comfort, while a friend's room on the other side of the hotel was rather cold. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, even though carpets and furniture rather old and shabby. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. I have stayed in many Mercure hotels in France and this one is definitely not up to 4 star standard. However, the price was extremely reasonable, especially for Rome, and the staff were professional and very helpful. So despite problems, our stay was pleasant enough. I'd recommend it because of good value and good staff.
"Good experience"
11th January 2012, Cairns, Australia
Overall the stay in this hotel was well above average. the rooms were clean and well appointed, the column in the room at the end of the bed was however a little bizzare. Hotel located within easy walking distance to the colossem and other city attractions. It is easy to recommend this hotel to others.
