"LAST MINUTE 5 DAY GETAWAY"

Decided to make a dash north from cold Sydney to Cairns , found a great airfare on internet then searched Hotels, found Pullman Reef 5 star at a good price, however when i phoned to confirm price they had issue that internet price cannot be confirmed via hotel resevations ??? very strange when it was their own website !!Anyway arrived at reception and asked if interested in upgrade .....well for a few bucks more got a suite on the 4th floor amazing, great room longest hallway I have ever seen in a Hotel and all the goodies you would expect from a 5 star suite, well done guys this was a great room !!!! should of haggled for a better upgrade price but still very cheap 5 day stay overall.Staff were great and helpful highly recommend in future especially in quiet months when some great deals are available.

"Like a cruise!"

The Pullman reef casino has a great location in Cairns. Rooms are of superior quality and the staff are excellent. Entertainment is located in the foyer so I felt we were on a cruise ship. The magician that performs at Vertigo's, Sam Powers, was well worth the money and I plan to take the rest of the family to see him again.

We had a wonderfull time at your hotel the only problem we had was the front girl when we checked in. We are australian and could not fully understand her, she asked us if we wanted to pay for an upgrade and we agreed but she couldnt understand us as well so we didnt get the upgrade other than that we wish we could have stayed longer we just loved itQuestion from below would we recommend to a friend we already have told many people and showed photos

"ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL"

Our 3 night stay was awesome at the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino, the staff could not do enough for us from the moment we arrived till the time we left ... reluctantly i may add !we were close to all attractions in Cairns, the esplanade, the boardwalk pier restaurants and public transport when we needed it.the rooms were large and more than comfortable, the beds ideal for a perfect night's sleep with a selection of pillows if needed, tea coffee facilities, balcony. could not fault the hotel in anyway.

We had 2 nights at the Pullman Reef. The staff were the best we had on our 2 week stay in Nth QLD. They could not do enough for us. The Hotel is wonderful. The breakfast is great. We ate at both restaurants & were not disappointed. Matthew the Concierge arranged an in room massage for me. The Masseur was the best I have had.

"A Pleasant Stay"

We recently stayed at the Pullman Reef Hotel Cairns, and found it an absolute delight. from the moment we entered the hotel we were greeted with a warm friendly smile by the reception staff who were very helpful with answers we asked about Cairns and our next day trip to japan. Our room was light and bright with all the amenities laid on. We would recomend this hotel to anyone that wants to be treated like royalty.

"Quality"

My wife and I recently spent 4 nights in a standard (superior) city view room. Hotel is only 1/2 block to other eateries and shops. Parking on streets is free from 5pm to 830am, but you are better off paying $8 for self parking under the facility. This gives unlimited 24 hr entry and exit, and is safe and keeps the car cool. We spent 5 mins in the casino, but if you like casinos you might spend more time there. We chose this hotel on the Internet for its advertised ambience and quality. That plus the fact we are Accor members helped! We were not disappointed. Hotel reception was welcoming as were the staff. The room was very well fiitted out and included a separate toilet with own hand basin and twin vanity basins in the bathroom. King bed was comfy, but TV was very small. Single spa bath was good but buy your own Balts salts, as with everything including the mini bar it can be expensive. A couple of restless mornings as our room was near entrance to doors which led to gym, sauna and pool which opens at 6am. Got woken up most mornings as people come and go. Also had a group of people plonk themselves down on the floor right outside our room one morning at 2:20am. They proceeded to have a very loud conversation and carried on for about 10 mins until I opened the door and told them to move on. Reported this to reception next morning - obviously no hotel security on duty as someone had let them in onto the floor ( as all floors need swipe access from the lifts). Apart from that the room was very comfy and offers enough room for a few days stay. Overall the hotel offered an enjoyable stay and we would stay there again but would ask for a different room away from the pool/ gym room doors.

"Cairns Hotel"

Centrally located Hotel in the middle of Cairns. Ideal for those wanting to stay in town or be close to the Marina. Room I had was spacious, with view over water. Bathroom was large, with separate WC. Staff in the hotel were very helpful and where able to recommend and advise on tours, dining and things to do inside and out of the hotel complex. Note that the Cairns Casino and some tourist attractions are within the Hotel complex, but this did not result in there being too many people around the hotel as the design separates the various access points. Nice roof top pool and gym complex. Pool has views of the water and enough sun lounges to get some rays and have a drink or meal. Gym looked modern and had plenty of machines available on the few occassions I passed by on way to Pool. Breakfast was reasonably priced $AUD18 and had a buffet or menu option.

"pool area"

The hotel is a wonderful place to relax but the pool area leaves a lot to be desired and this is the only draw back. It is in need of asthetics to make it look inviting and in serious need of shade both over the pool and the sitting areas, Cairns is one of the hottest places and the sun is extremely damaging , having this in mind the pool area is not being used to its full capacity.

"One night in Cairns"

I got into the hotel at around 9pm, I was greated by smiling staff who made a huge effort to help me settle in, nothing was to much trouble. I was advised of room service times should I want to have something to eat.I got upstairs showered, and found the most comfortable bed Id slept in in months. I just melted into the mattress and fell asleep in an instant. I slept through the night like a baby, surprisingly no noise even with the earth works that where going on across the road.The room had an amazing veiw of the Cairns harbour with a cruise ship docked for a couple of day, float planes flying by at a mear few hundred metres, I could have been anywhere in the world. But I wasnt, I was in Cairns Australia.I was given the option of a late check out at 12 noon, this was good because waking up at 9am only normally give you 2 hours to pack and be on your way. The extra hour meant I could go out for breakfast catch up with a friend and then return before heading out to the airport for the trip back to Brisbane.Im lucky enough to be able to afford the Accor Advantage Plus card issued Annually for a small fee. You get two free nights a year in an available room at any Accor hotel in their world wide network. The card is about $280 and It has more then paid for itself times over this year. You get 25% of all your meal in the hotel and if two are dining 50% off the total bill. I think Ive eaten around $500 worth of meals this year and with the free night which would have just cost me $180 for the night, I think Im well ahead. A worthwhile purchase indeed. And the good thing is, I still have 1 free night to go before the end of June.The Hotel in Cairns is close to the Casion and the warf area, which is full of fine dining and the like, there is nothing you cant try from a myrid of coffee's to the vast array of seafood. There is also a loogon for the kids to swim in which has its own lifeguards.All in all the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino was a hit for me, and I hope you take the time to have a gander at it on-line and maybe just make a booking to see for yourself.Happy Trails!

I have heard many times that this establishment has "NO complimentary nights" for Accor Members. Well, I had no problem getting a room, service was outstanding given I did not check in until 11.00pm and the room was A1 (wish I had more time to stay)

"Alan & Lea Mottram Cairns Holiday Feb 24th to Mar 2nd 2012"

The service we received from all staff during our stay was second to none, the friendly helpful way they went about their job was indicative of staff that are obviously happy in their employ.The Junior suite(501) we stayed in was beautiful, its size and level of comfort was fantastic.We especially liked the views, the corner location is supurb as it allows multiple vistas of the hills, harbour and City.We took advantage of the large balcony where we enjoyed our morning coffee which was a nice touch, the coffee machine certainly is a great appliance and Lea is keen to purchase our own as the coffee was extremely good.The bathroom in the suite was excellent, including the double spa and separate shower, the built in seat in the shower was a great feature.It was also nice to have a separate WC.The bathrobes and slippers were very handy and a nice luxury.The bed size and comfort was excellent.Overall the Junior Suite exceeded our expectations and I would certainly choose this option for future bookings.As for the location of the hotel it was great, all ammenities were just a short stroll away.Lea especially enjoyed the proximity to the boardwalk enjoying her morning walks.Best - The Junior Suite (Loved the Shutters) and the staff's friendly service made us feel very welcome.Least enjoyable - Having to come home after such a wonderful holiday.

"mini bar rip off"

After spending almost $500 on accommadation and another $2000 in the casino then getting a letter saying my card is getting charged for two lousy light beers and i left 3 full strength beers of mine there i think it sucks.And when i rang your reception they would not connect me to the manager but took my number and never rang back .NOT my way of conducting a bussiness

"Pullman Hotel & Tamarind Restaurant"

Rooms excellent....large and attractive. Great view over inlet & range.. Staff friendly and efficient. Tamarind Restaurant excellent food but seated at a very bad table under air-com. Staff not happy to move us. As a result, we froze, food became cold quickly and plate was very cold. Sad !

"Spacious and Comfortable"

We have stayed at the Reef Hotel Casino many times over the past 15 years and always enjoy our stay there however this visit we noticed the hotel looking a bit tired and dated and the decor needs some help. The positives are the hotel is in a great location, the greeting staff were helpful and polite and made you feel welcome (I know it is what we expect but we don't always get), there are places to eat so you don't have to leave the building and the Tamarind Restaurant is amazing if you like Asian Fusion but you have to book in advance or you may miss out. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed and the doors open to a balcony for fresh air if required. The down side is the noise in the hallway in the morning. The timber flooring at the entrance of each room, although looks great, increases the noise and you could hear suitcases being rolled out over the floor. If there are a lot of early check outs on your level (which was the case for us) then you probably won't get back to sleep. The house staff were loud and talking to one another across the hallway and at times you felt they were in your room, they were so loud and this was at 8am. While there are lovely timber louvres for privacy and to darken the room there are no block out curtains so in the morning the room was quite light. In general, our other visits have been more positive and we will most likely return.
