I had a good experience staying at the Mercure Hotel Dortmund. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was really great! The shower was nice and there were enough towels. The products in the bathroom were also nice. I liked that I had two chairs, a nice desk and also a side-table to the chair, so I could organize myself nicely. The water kettle is a great thing that enhances the room. The wardrobe is great. There were two minor points that I wasn't crazy about: - The carpeting. I'm generally not a fan of carpets on the floor, as they tend to retain dust even when they're regularly vacuumed. - The lack of outlets. There were no outlets near the bedside tables, so I had to charge my phone on the outlet near the desk. There was also no free outlet to plug in my laptop, so I had to unplug the corner lamp...

Hotel was clean and very good located in connection to the Train station and city center. The check in was very inefficient and took a very long time - so long that we were late for the dinner that we were booked for in the evening. We were expected to fill in our pass port details in the manual form all though we dont even need a passport to travel to Germany from Sweden. Just pure luck that we had the passport with us. Door keys were not working for some of us. My colleague got a new room (due to that the key did not work) and got directed/the key to a room were someone else was already staying (!!) which was very embarrassing for her. My room key worked when I checked in but was "un magnetized" at night when I came back. The breakfast was not fantastic. Could have had some scrambled eggs for us who dont eat bread.

Friendly staff, but breakfast very disappointing... it would be nice to have fresh bread instead of those oven baked freezer stuff. Fried eggs as they used to have would be very welcome again.
