I needed to get away from the routine of work and went to the Sofitel in Jinan. The staff are all so hospitable, and genuinely enjoy helping guests with any problem. I was on the Club floor and found the cocktail hour and breakfast food delectable with the right amount of variety. The hotel's location is central to shopping and the city's famous springs.
Very comfortable and staff very nice and helpful. Room are very clean and easy for working . Staff is very helpful and efficient. A nice place to stay in Jinan with a nice location in the city. I shall recommand this hotel

I picked the hotel as it was rated 5 star but have left feeling badly let down. We were served cut pineapple that was going bad for breakfast.. For dinner we thought we woudl try teh New Zealand lamb chops. Mine were ok but my wife received lamb chops almost 90%fat. I even took photographs. We complained to the staff and then with reluctance they deducted 20% off.. Should have not charged for it. The pineapple gave both of us a unpleasent day. Our hotel kept on getting far too hot...The enginner worked on it but nothing changed. Eventually they gave us a noisy fan..Room still hot...We were on the 12th floor and to go to the 49th floor for meals we had to go to the ground floor...Very poor hotel design. The staff in the front desk and restuarant were very plesent to deal with...Overall unhappy with my experience with Sofitel as I understood their reputation was first rate....

Was a little surprise that they actually notice that it was my birthday during my 1 night stay. Although not that they have offered something great as a birthday present (a box of chocolate to be exact), at least is the thought that counts : )

Stayed one night. Employees are really polite and caring. Got up in the morning and found the pillion next to me has a huge stain of BLOOD!!! I was terrified and checked my head....to see whether my head was broken. Luckily or unluckily, it was not me. Though not confirmed, I had to suppose the blood stain could not transfer any disease. Please think how disguisting it is!! I am not sure I have to check the room carefully each time I check in Jinan Sofitel hotel. Similar things have never occurred to me in any other hotels, i.e. Marriott / SPG / IHG.

Sofitel Jinan Silver Plaza is excellent center location, near City Plaza. Nearby are many famous springs and tourist spots. Very good service with professional staff. 索菲特银座大饭店地处市中心。走路10分钟可达泉城广场。去名泉景点非常方便。酒店顶楼旋转餐厅景观很漂亮。临近的新酒店高楼起来后可能会有影响。酒店服务不错，比较专业。出门公交方便。打车不太准。

The hotel is good overall. The breakfast is also great with lots of choices. I appreciate that the hotel arranged a birthday cake in the room for my family member. The only thing is that the air-con didn't seem functioning properly, cause the room is too hot regardless how we managed to make it cooler.

Location was excelent and amenties were satisfactory. The English language is Ok but needs improving for other staff. As I have lived in China for more than eight years total this region still behind big city hotels for English. Still, I was satisfied and understand they are working to improve.

A wonderful hotel. Pity we only stayed for 1 night and we missed the re-opening of the club lounge by a few days. Room was big, bed comfortable, sound insulation good, air-con system runs well. Lounge staff top-notch and special mention to Marie-Charlotte who made our evening canape very enjoyable. Had an early check out so breakfast in the restaurant. Extensive mix of local and Western. Good tasting and a nice cappuccino. Will definitely return!

Staff are very friendly and accommodating, good location and good restaurants nearby. Wide selection of food to choose from in the breakfast buffet. Renovations are occurring at the hotel but I did not find these to be disruptive

bad restaurant,very high price but very poor taste. italy restaurant cannot use accor plus card. dirty ground in the room. even the shower got problems....they do not check details usually, I think. not feel good really..............................................................

I only stayed at this Sofitel for one night and I was glad for that. I was on the 32nd floor. The room was quite large and well-appointed. The bathroom was wonderful and there is a separate walk-in closet. However, there is clearly an issue with the windows not being properly sealed and the hotel has an issue with humidity. From this high floor I could still hear the cars honking down below as if I was on the 2nd floor. This was not the biggest issue, though. That was the smell of mildew in the room. I am confident that it was mildew. I would have asked for another room but all the parts of the hotel that I had been to had a heavy damp smell to it. I did not think another room would fix the problem. The smell was strong and I never stopped smelling it the whole time I was in my room. In the morning I had the breakfast buffet which was only fair. It had excellent bread but was pretty limited in Western style breakfast while heavy with the Chinese style. Having spent the past month in China eating Chinese breakfast I was truly hoping to have a good Western style breakfast as I had had at the Westin Beijing. My other issue with the breakfast was the complete lack of service from the wait-staff. It was a buffet so they should be on top of removing the dirty plates. No a single dirty plate was removed while I ate. I had them stacked up at my table and though there was staff walking by they never stopped to pick it up. As I mentioned early I have being eating Chinese style breakfast buffet which was at another hotel in Jinan and the staff there was very on top of removing plates so this lack of service is not cultural. In regards to the location, it is probably as good as it gets in Jinan. After a month staying in Jinan my opinion is still that it is an ugly, dirty town. The Sofitel is located close to many interesting sites in Jinan but walking around Jinan is not particularly pleasant. To be noted I have stayed at other Sofitels and absolutely loved them. I was expecting what I had at the Sofitel in Montreal when I booked this hotel. I did not get that.
