"Exceptionnal team with professionnal service"

Very nice restaurant. Somewhat pricy for wines but excellent place for a stay in Amsterdam.Efficient concierge service, nice rooms and perfect service. Unfortunately missing a real lighting system in the bedrooms.

"Great hotel, perfect location."

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Sofitel The Grand. The hotel is located around the tourist area and is perfect for those looking to stay near that area. Hotel staff is very friendly, we even got a welcome gift from the hotel (a special dutch cheese and drink), and on the following day they gave us some Macarons. The room we stay, was lovely, with a nice view from the canal at the back side. Bed is very comfortable and the bathroom has a decent size. For the room size, a bigger TV screen would be better, but we spent more time walking around the city, so this is not a big issue. Breakfast is very good, with a variety of foods to choose. Overall a very satisfying stay at The Grand.

"Fantastic hotel!"

We had a brilliant stay and hope to come back in the future. Service at reception was excellent, our suite (upgraded at arrival) was huge and very comfortable. We returned home completely relaxed. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who loves the vibrancy of Amsterdam combined with an ultra relaxing stay in a luxurious and beautiful hotel.

"Excellent Hotel"

Stayed here for a 2 day break between Christmas and New Year, the hotel is located within easy walking distance of the central station and is tucked away in a courtyard, near enough to all the main areas but far enough away that you are not effected by noise.The hotel staff were excellent and our room was available on arrival. The only negative was our room loctation (Room 232), we were overlooking a side street and we were woken up early (7.30am) by delivery trucks banging and crashing on both mornings.So overall would recommend staying here just ask for a room away from the side street.

very nice hotel, excellent service,vey good location ,they updgrade me with a suite even i wait about 2 hours to do do my check in since i arrive early to the hotel(at 9 am)but i believe that the amount per night is very high.

In case your budget allows it, I would highly recommend to stay in this hotel. It is located in the former town hall of Amsterdam very close to all the major attractions. Rooms are very cozy with excellent beds. There is BRIDGES restaurant located on the ground floor where the delicious breakfast is being served. The restaurant is well known in Amsterdam, so in case you want to eat dinner there, you really need to reserve a table well in advance. The SPA should also be checked out. Overall a great hotel experience with only one negative side: price. It surely does bite, but in case you can afford it I would highly recommend this hotel

I've expirienced many hotels in Ams, but this the bestAnd one of the best in the worldIt was second stay, and last time was better then firstBut just one thing i didnt like at all.place for breakfast and breakfast itself. A lot of hassles and cramped. A hot meal you have to wait for at least 20 minutes, can you imagine if you hurry. And one more note: suite was excellent! But there was no bathtube and .... the mirror.But still now the only the Grand in Amsterdam

Indeed our Superior Rooms have a walk-in rain shower and no bath. Should you prefer to have a bathtub, may I inform you that from the Luxury Room type onwards, all our rooms and suites feature a bath. this hotel has the best of everything, at a fair enough price for what you receive... is in the best location by far out of anywhere we've ever stayed in the city, we only stay at the Grand now, 6 times now we have been there and return again in May/June.... Thanks for making our trip(s) such a pleasure... always nice to know that after a 10 hour flight we have a place we feel comfortable enough to call home....

"VERY COMFORTABLE. GOOD POOL"

A very comfortable hotel, especially in the cold weather. Not cheap but worth it. Excellent pool and other fitness facilities. Some standard rooms have showers but no bath. Unusual for a hotel of this quality.

"Very good but not yet a great hotel. Could be soon."

I will return. Excellent rooms and restaurant. But, when excellent quality sashimi was served with wooden take away chop sticks and wasabi from a tube, I wondered why the chef allowed his skill and quality to be let down. Truly wonderful food and wines by glass. Lovely room , bed and bathroom. But lights not easy to workout. i had to call someone to find out how to switch off the desk ceiling lamp. He found the switch attached to the wall behind the desk. From the lift, no sign to rooms. So, overall, details were ignored. All could be fixed on Monday within an hour of managers meeting. So I will find out next visit.
