I've expirienced many hotels in Ams, but this the bestAnd one of the best in the worldIt was second stay, and last time was better then firstBut just one thing i didnt like at all.place for breakfast and breakfast itself. A lot of hassles and cramped. A hot meal you have to wait for at least 20 minutes, can you imagine if you hurry. And one more note: suite was excellent! But there was no bathtube and .... the mirror.But still now the only the Grand in Amsterdam

this hotel has the best of everything, at a fair enough price for what you receive... is in the best location by far out of anywhere we've ever stayed in the city, we only stay at the Grand now, 6 times now we have been there and return again in May/June.... Thanks for making our trip(s) such a pleasure... always nice to know that after a 10 hour flight we have a place we feel comfortable enough to call home....

"VERY COMFORTABLE. GOOD POOL"

A very comfortable hotel, especially in the cold weather. Not cheap but worth it. Excellent pool and other fitness facilities. Some standard rooms have showers but no bath. Unusual for a hotel of this quality.

"Well worth it"

very good hotel, well prepared with paperwork ready when we arrived, friendly staff assisted with enthusiasm whenever needed, warm clean room, cosy bar with great barman...would return without hesitation

"Very good but not yet a great hotel. Could be soon."

I will return. Excellent rooms and restaurant. But, when excellent quality sashimi was served with wooden take away chop sticks and wasabi from a tube, I wondered why the chef allowed his skill and quality to be let down. Truly wonderful food and wines by glass. Lovely room , bed and bathroom. But lights not easy to workout. i had to call someone to find out how to switch off the desk ceiling lamp. He found the switch attached to the wall behind the desk. From the lift, no sign to rooms. So, overall, details were ignored. All could be fixed on Monday within an hour of managers meeting. So I will find out next visit.

"AMAZING."

All I have to say is this: Sofitel The Grand Amsterdam is hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at. It by far exceeded every high expectation that I had. Its beautiful, the staff is more than accommodating and friendly, and the rooms/locations are perfect. I loved every minute at The Grand. I will be going back next year.

Great Service -Great Rooms -Great Place. Very sweet Hotel in Amsterdam. Everything was fine! A Special Hotel, where sleeps also Queens :-) Maybe the price is a litle high... I Love the SOFITEL-BED...

"Too Close to Red Light district"

Interesting location....but beautiful hotel. While restaurant is amazing for a gourmet dinner, what about the other meals. Nearest choice is the rather sleazy red light district. A FINE hotel,but would have preferred a slightly different location. But as with all the sofitels that i have stayed ...hotel is beautiful and staff is very efficient.

"Small rooms - expensive breakfast!"

We were disapointed with the room sizes and we were not provided with the rooms we had asked for - queen size double bed, not two single beds! We also felt that the breakfast was a bit of a rip-off; there was no option for one of us just to have a coffee and croissant in the breakfast room without beeing charged €33 Euros! We also thought that for the price of the rooms there should be a bath tub as well as shower, rather than shower only. The staff were very friendly and the general design and decor of the hotel is to a very highy standard.

Wonderful location and high class hotel with an intimate touch. Nice bar.
