"Great value accommodation in Zurich"

I thought everything was supposed to be expensive in Zurich!! This pleasant surprise might be the exception to the rule. I stayed with 2 friends in a triple executive room, and taking advantage of a special offer on the Accor website, got 3 nights for the price of 2. Came to £299 in total. Wasn't too sure about location, but in fact it is fine. 40 minutes walk to old town or 10 minutes on tram line 4. Some excellent restaurants (La Salle) within minutes, if you don't want to go into town. Room itself was standard Novotel, but being brand new, it felt better than I'd expected. Nespresso coffee machine was a nice feature you don't always get in a Novotel. Only when we checked out and declared that we'd taken one drink from the mini-bar, were we told the minibar is complimentary in the executive rooms!

I stayed with family in Novotel Zurich City-West between 8 to 15 August and truly felt very comfortable. Easily reachable from Zurich Main Railway Station by Tram 4, which was available every 7 to 10 minutes. Service was quite good and the staff were very polite and friendly. Had a little difficulty with the entertainment system hanging few times. Breakfast was quite a good spread and tasty too. As was a longer stay, would have been happier if the menu was not repeated exactly the same every day. In totality, this is one hotel that I would definitely recommend both family and business traveler alike. This was by far the best place that we stayed during this entire Euro Trip.

Excellent hotel to stay. Visitor can travel to any place from its location by TRAM NO. 4. Staff is courteous.

"Great Hotel and Interesting, Off-beat (Yet Convenient) Location"

This is a higher-end hotel, however at the lower end of Zurich Accor/Novotel/Mercur price ranges. Probably because it is a good 20 to 30 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station). (In fact it is located on a tram line direct to the HB and is is within a brief walk to the S16 train to the airport; we didn't know that at the time.) Surrounded by an interesting (and clean, safe) Indian and East Asian neighborhood and several over-the-top urban renewal projects (City West). Everything in the hotel, which was beautiful, worked. Breakfast was a good deal at 22 CHF. Staff could not have been nicer. Room modern, immaculate. Pet friendly (we have a cat who travels). Would stay here again - while not cheap, a bargain and in a very interesting and transportation-enabled location. Only bad thing was that it was purportedly reserved at a bargain under United Airlines corporate rate - imagine my chagrin when the 200 CHF rate we paid was exactly the walk-in posted rate (!). "Nice Hotel"

We liked the hotel very much :location with easy access to public transportation ; Clean, modern rooms ; good service.One remark : the airconditioning was still set on wintermode until June, they said. So we could not cool the room...outside temperature was 28 degrees, inside the room 31 degrees Celsius!

"Great for kids and parents!"

Loved the open space in the lobby so that kids can play and parents can have a drink. Great outside space (with swings!) which is enclosed, so safe. The room was decent size.

"Very good althoug not in down town"

Hotel located in the former industrial area of Zurich. About 8 tram stops (20 min.) from the main station. Modern business area. Room was clean. Service a bit slow sometimes. Pricing / quality of the service a little bit too expensive. For 7 nights stay below 200.00 Swiss Francs/night would have been more adequate in my eyes.....

"GOOD HOTEL !"

Not being downtown, it is not an issue, very accessible from the airport 10 minutes by train, Very easy access to the downtown or lake by tramway 15 Minutes. with swimming pool, kids love it. Nice Hotel, Friendly personnel.

"Business Travel"

Normally, when traveling to Zurich I stay at the Novetel, and have have been satisfied with the room and service. This time however, my trip was not so pleasant. My first night I experienced bed bugs - my room was changed but I was still concerned with this problem in another bed. I was not pleased with the hotel management as no one apologized for this - they only seemed embarrassed for the hotel. Not one manager took me aside to offer anything for my inconvenience - ONLY when I asked - did someone respond.

"Loved the pool"

Modern & clean hotel.Loved the pool, except I suspect they had forgotten to switch on the pool's heating on day 2 to 4 when i stayed in the hotel. Day 1 was warm & super lovely. Very refreshing to take a dip in the pool after a long day!I had free internet in the Executive room, but unfortunately it was not working on day 2 to 4. Reception said the internet for the entire hotel was down, but yet there was no technician on hand to rectify the problem.Luckily they had computers on the ground floor lobby for guests to use, tho those computers were also being used by non-guests as i had witnessed.

"Nice Hotel"

This hotel is well situated for both tram and railway. It is what you would expect from any Novotel across the world - it's just a shame that our air con unit was argumentative! The staff were friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our stay.

I liked: central, being at the heart of Zurich-West, breathtakingly clean, neat and tidy, everywhere. I did not like: all the extras for car park, breakfast etc. and when you pile these up, it is not that cheap, even for Zurich. The air conditioning was not efficient at all.
