"A short weekend at Fontainebleau"

Stayed here for a short weekend trip. Check in is automated as others have noted. There was a problem printing our ticket which gives you your room number and code. Luckily my wife has a sharp eye and memory and was able to memorize it when it flashed on the screen for 5 seconds.Rooms were very clean, however, it seemed there was some mold starting to grow in a few places -- most likely from the steam from the hot showers. It was not overly noticeable or in dire condition though.I was primarily interested in the forest (and the climbing) in Fontainebleau. For that, the location was perfect and as close as possible. However, this is located a bit away from the center of Fontainebleau (and the chateau) and so it is a 30 minute walk there.The staff was friendly and helpful, even when your French was as poor as mine. Bed was good, Wifi was fast, overall a good stay.

After the reconstruction the hotel is excellent ,The space utilization of room is morecomfortable and useful. Therefore we had no problem with our digital piano that both daughters need for training before the piano competition in Vulaines sur Seine. We were very satisfied with our stay.

This is a very basic hotel so travel with your shampoo and creams. Also iron and hairdryer as front desk reception is minimal. When there is no reception, check-in is automatic and easy requiring the insertion of the credit card used for reservation. .Hotel was 5 minutes walk from the train station and 3 minutes from the Carrefour which is like a "Walmart" store. Bus stops for A or D which take you to The Castle and downtown shopping areas are also conveniently located outside the hotel.The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. Buffet breakfast @ 4.70 euros was decent with juice, tea, coffee, cereal, bread, cheese, choco-nut spread, apple sauce and yogourt. We enjoyed our stay in Fontainebleau especially the great sales on clothing downtown.
