a lovely crisp clean room with all the basics you need for a great break. Travelled as a family of 4 so had to book two rooms which was the only downside. It would be great if they did a family room however it was still cheap. Service is pretty much automated as you can check in and out using the facility at the entrance. We checked in normally though. No keys to mess about with either just a passcode.
Sehr gemütlich. Wide corridors inside and there is space for everyone in dining room. Hotel is situated in peaceful place near industrial area where no one goes after four o'clock. Distance to tram stop is just right. Big shopping center near tram stop. Staff is helpful and can speak also other languages than German. Cheap compared to similar place in München.
This is an ibis Basic hotel, and this sets the level of expectation. The room is as expected simple, but functional. The decor of the building as a whole is stark and it is a semi-industrial area. However the bed is perfectly comfortable. The one complaint I have is that the WiFi did not work. I was at the end of a corridor and the signal just did not reach. WiFi seems to be something that ibis just cannot get right. The outsourcing to m3 (part of t-mobile) has provided a service with barely minimal functionality across all ibis hotels in Austria and Germany, even if you pay for premium service. It is the one reason I consider using other hotel chains.
This budget hotel is in the middle of an industrial park but is handy for gigs at the Hirsch venue which is 5 minutes walk. Tram stop for to get to City centre is also around 5 minutes away. Only problem with the hotel might be the lack if a lift to the accomodation floors. Lift only goes up to reception
What is looking like an annual return to this very friendly, easily accessible Ibis Budget. The warm multilingual welcome, as last year, tinged with a little sense of humour. Who says the Germans do not have one?!? Plus point, room on reception level this time, but regretfully on the east side, so missed the sunset, which promised to be as good as last year. Fed well in the morning, and onwards, westwards.
