"Nice for short stay"

Hotel is very good for short visit to Köln. Not far away from Ubahn station. Expectations fulfilled. Fair price for what you get. Rooms were clean and tidy. Hope to stay there again.Very easy to find.
"Close to the airport, but nothing else"

We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport (5 minutes on the train) and cheap. You definitely get what you pay for here. We just wanted a good nights sleep before an early flight and were not expecting anything fancy. But the walls are so thin I was constantly awoken by noise from neighboring rooms. The only plus was getting to see a fox and lots of rabbits in the field near the station...

Not expensive but don't expect anything beside basic needs, There is no hairdryer, no shampoo but there is a bar of soap. Check out is at 12:00 with no exeptions and don't forget to put the "do not disturb" sign outside the door otherwise they cleaning people will start knocking at your door at 8.00

The hotel is about 3 minutes from the train station making Cologne center and the airport easily accessable. Rooms are basic but clean and it is at the lower end of prices so represents excellent value for money.

I chose this hotel as a place to sleep following a day/evening's business in Dusseldorf and prior to taking an early morning flight out of Koln/Bonn. I was only going to be there a few hours so I wasn't looking for luxury or a pampering, food or attentive staff or interesting surroundings. What I did need was a place that was walking distance from the S-Bahn, a minimal number of stops from the airport and cheaper than the airport hotels - and this fitted the bill perfectly. Not having stayed at a hotel of this type before, and arriving quite late at night, I was a little apprehensive as to whether I would be able to check in, or even enter the building. All was well, however, thanks to the computerised check-in facility in the hotel lobby. All I needed was the credit card I had used to make the booking (as I didn't have my reseration number to hand) and the sceen displayed a code that you use both for entering beyond the lobby and for opening your room door. It all went like clockwork, and in the morning I was walking through the airport about 20 minutes after walking out of my room. In similar circumstances I would definitely use the Etap hotel again and recommend others to do the same.
