"What you pay is what you get"
7th September 2013, Dragos N, Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
We have used the F1 hotels for a good while now and they are very good value for money. However, I think time is starting to leave its mark on them and the one in Charleroi is not a exception. The hotel is clean, rooms, sheets, etc but appears to be "worn" simply due to use. It remains a good choice for a low budget but the management should probably think about renovation, especially in the toilets(they were as clean as they could be but just worn)The receptionists were helpful and friendly , with good english and the hotel is situated in a quite location.
"a shabby F1"

excellent location for a flight from Charleroy, and if you use a rented car it is great having a close parking and a petrol station in the nearby; still there is an acute need for refurbishing (old and poor cabins for toilets and showers), missing towels in rooms, tv set not functioning and so one
"I didn't expect to be on the menu"
16th July 2012, Poole, United Kingdom
My stay at the Formule ! Charleroi was quite short, as I was obliged to depart at 04:00 in order to catch an early Channel Tunnel crossing.Maybe this was a blessing in disguise, as it became apparent on my arrival back in UK that I had received multiple insect bites, either from flees or other bugs, during the brief time I was resident at the hotel. In addition to this, I found the hotel was some 15% more expensive than similar accomodation I'd used in France over the previous week. Perhaps simply because it was in Belgium. I don't know.I didn't sample the breakfast since I didn't feel this was value for money either. Where else are you expected to eat breakfast cereal with a teaspoon? Finally, although the hotel offers free wi-fi, guests are obliged to sit in the area adjacent to the reception in order to use it. Not the most private of areas.Would I stay there again? I doubt it.
"last stay at F1`s"
5th September 2011, gloucestershire
I have stayed in F1`s for many years on route through France or en route to Italy, but I am afraid that is it, you do get what you pay for and in future I will pay the extra and get a proper hotel, I cannot put up with the very hot rooms, because the windows cannot be left open during the night for fear of being eaten alive by mosquitoes, because of the lack of a secondary net blind.I also was not given the choice of a non smoking area which makes for an uncomfortable night being a non smoker having a room full of cigarette smoke, and late night noise from certain people. we also felt that the carpet in the room was dirty with quite bad stains and bits on it, it just seemed grubby.although I will say the staff here were very pleasant and receptive, which is not always the case in some F1`s. sorry to be so negative but this has been building up over some years.
"does what it says on the tin"

Very basic hotel to lay your head down overnight. A lovely restaurant across the street which was convenient and good value. The receptionist was very hlepful and pleasant. Liked best: Price. Liked least: shared toilets -and we didn't use the showers. Good value for money.
"Cheap hotel, as expected"
3rd June 2011
We booked this hotel as it is close to airport, the laundry was clean but the blanket smell of cigarettes was awful, for some reason hotel laundry truck came about 3a.m. and nearby traffic did not helped to rest. The staff was friendly and helpfull

Bargain hotel but good value for the price. The toilet are comunal as per advertised. The downside is if you have a room near the toilet/showers where there's lots of come and go.Eat as much as you want continental breakfast for only 5 Euros.
"Bad toilette and bed"
15th April 2011, leon
I didn't like the sheets, pillow and bed. The toilette is like a building work toilette, not dirty but narrow, small and strange. I would spend a little more money in a better hotel or I would look for a hostel.
