"Average Hotel"
3rd October 2012, johnblingfield35, Singapore, Singapore
Close to Menton Garavan railway station but a distance from the town centre. Automated check-in proved troublesome as, although per-booked entry code changed and had to re-check the next day. Shower tray emptied very slowly and housekeeping left door open all day - luckily nothing was taken
"Great hotel"
25th August 2012
We we really suprised that the hotel was situated right on the beach/seafront/promenade; This was a geat plus. The room was nicely docorated, very modern. The air con worked well. Room was also lit well. The garage is a bit of a nightmare to get in and out of. We had a small peugeot but it's the actual fob functioning of the gate/door that needs updating. You will struggle if you have a big car to actually get in a space in there. Overall very pleased with hotel though.
"Budget hotel in front of the sea"
30th July 2012, Warsaw
Excellent location for an economy hotel (in front of the sea), at a few hundred meters from the Italian border. Would recommend it for travellers looking for good value for money. But it is a budget hotel so don't expect more.
"Easy and useful"

The hotel is almost in the center with a great view on the port, the rooms are a bit small and not suitable for a long stay and not very comfortable for more than 2 people, everything was ok but a bit dusty as if it had not been used recently, there is one towel only and one small soap, then you should take something from home. The location is great and costs are right if you think you are in a top holiday location. Breakfast is ok and you can eat as much as you can, we stayed for one night only and was silence since we were on the 5th floor. The use of the garage was completely free and this is a plus.
"Nice Location but stay away from this one"
19th July 2012, itesdahl, Drammen, Norway
Im general i have been pleased with Accor hotels like Ibis, Etap and Mercure. Good value and service. My experience in Menton was awful. Dirty room, dirty linens in bunk bed. Parking garage is not suitable for anything larger than a compact car and the automatic lights switch off/times out before youany chance to leave the garage. On arrival the receptionist totally ignored everything we said, and the same happened the following day when we informed the same guy about the dirty room. He simply wasn' t interested. The only positive thing was that the hotel took care of the luggage we forgot in the dark garage Too bad for Accorhotels and hopefully they'll get things sorted. Until that happens I suggest you look else where.
"Stay in Menton"
5th July 2012, Dundee
We stayed at the Etap in Menton in June 2012. We had stayed in this hotel on two previous occasions and had been very happy. This time it was even better as all the rooms have been refurbished with the rather start metal replaced with much softer wood and the bathrooms re-done to a very high standard. We also had a room facing the Mediterranean with a balcony. to find a room like this at another hotel would have cost us ten times as much. We will definitely come back on our next trip to the south of France.
"good hotel, Menton"
22nd September 2011, Swindon, United Kingdom
Although slightly more expensive than our usual choices, it was definitely worth it. What a view!! Palm trees, marina, the Med. All from the comfort of your own balcony. The room itself was clean and tidy with basic level of comfort. There was air-conditioning in the room, which proved essential in 34 degrees heat. Parking was superb. Underground garage with lift directly into the hotel.Good security.TV available.Would have liked a channel in English, maybe a film every evening. Not a problem though.
"NOT VERY COMFORTABLE"
5th August 2011, Torino
I've been in Etap, Menton, years ago and know very well the hotel. But I found it really worse. The room was not very clean and a slight smell coming from the toilet was constant. The door lock was very difficult to close due to zero maintenance and the only coat hanger in the room was a mobile one with wheels, and it was broken, so there wasn't anything to hang our dresses.I immediately pointed out this problems at the reception: the receptionist came lazy with me to see my room and left it two minutes later after looking at me with sarcasm: what was I expecting from this type of cheap hotel? So he leaved after having mended the coat hanger in an awful way: sticking askew a rugged screw where the coat hanger was broken: something that left me speechless and upset. Is this the way to run an hotel?A repleacement of the hanger wasn't contemplated, no way a room replacement...From the room above at 4:00 a.m. there was constant loud noises for about an hour but in the Etap there's no one at the reception at night, so I couldn't complain with anybody.A real disappointment.I recommend the hotel only for its beachfront location.
"A nightmare in Menton"
4th July 2011, Bury st Edmunds
Without doubt this is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in, and it was relatively expensive too.The place was filthy, the room was tiny and noisy from the busy road outside. There was no toilet seat cover. The electronic device I was given to gain access didn't work properly, so I had to bang on the door from the garage to the hotel to gain access. The only positive was that the breakfast was o.k.
"ETAP Menton"
8th May 2011, Rome
I have been using this ETAP hotel for several years and as has been noted by others the bathrooms were in a sorry state. I was pleased to see on this occasion that my bathroom had been refurbished and I understand from management that nearly all the bathrooms on each floor have been completed. This will make a big difference. During my stay the whole carpet area in the corridor and in the rooms on the third floor were professional cleaned. The breakfast area has been rearranged to make better use of the space. I still believe the hotel is good value for money for a town like Menton and the location is perfect.
"Personal opinion"
6th April 2011, Dubna
I came in the principality of Monaco with my husband to attend a symposium of the IAEA Vienna. Although the work program of the symposium as well as our personally was very dense, we were able to relax and become friendship with the region and local people. The hotel location was very successful in this regard and the services were prompt and effective. Full vegetarian breakfast met fully my options. The space in the room was perfectly cast, making it enjoyable and useful living. The ETAP Hotel has granted a separate appeal combining both traditional media, French and Italian. And the Mediterranean sun highlighted its value properly. So we came back from the busy atmosphere of the symposium whose theme focus has been the Fukushima nuclear disaster and from the urban area of Monaco city in this oasis of sun, quiet and calm. And it was wonderful ... In the end, I wish to thank the hosts for the excellent conditions of our stay at the Hotel ETAP.
