"Good things, bad things..."
5th May 2012
The hotel is quite good. The location has some good points (a parking lot nearby), but is kind of far from the tourist points if you walk on foot. The greatest problem there is that the doors make a horrible, loud noise everytime someone closes them. It's unbeliable loud. Expect to wake up in the middle of the night if some guest arrives late.
"Convenient hotel with basic facilities"
29th September 2011, Singapore, Singapore
It was a wonderful trip to Avignon, the hotel was pretty decent, friendly staff, nice location (though not as good as the IBIS near the bus station), and the rooms were bigger than hotels in Paris, which had tiny little rooms. The bed was clean, so was the toilet, but the room had a smell of mildew a bit. Maybe it was because of the humid weather there. The facilities are very basic, so was the breakfast. In conclusion, it was a nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay in Avignon
"Good location and great staff"
8th September 2011, Swansea, United Kingdom
I stayed in this hotel while visiting Avignon. I choose it because of its location (right in the city center, close to train station and 10mn by bus to the TGV stattion). Also there is a supermarket 5-8mn walk away, which is handy. The hotel is a typical Etap hotel. The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms were sound proofed which made life easier in terms of disturbance. I had much better sleep than I did when i visited ETAP in the vieux-port in Marseille. In terms of breakfast it is the usual simple. Good coffee shops are around the corner for those who want upgrade to a better breakfast. So overall if you are looking for a simple and cleaned hotel with good location and value for money i think this hotel is worth trying.
"Good base for exploring Provence"
9th June 2011, New Orleans
My wife and I spent four nights at the Etap Avignon Centre as a base for exploring Provence. The hotel's location is excellent, an easy walk from one of the city's doors and an easy exit from the highway. Parking is nearly impossible in front of the hotel (which is all you see when you first get there), but there is a public lot around the back which always had an empty space for us. Our room was luxurious by Etap's standards, which is not saying much, but we aren't very demanding since we only use the room for sleeping. Our main complaint is that the hotel staff spoke hardly any English. In response to some of the reviews, I want to point out that there is now an automated check-in machine for when no staff is available at the desk.
"Good place if it's free"
8th June 2011, Leamington Spa
This is my 3rd stay at the ETAP Avignon and some of the brand new sparkle has worn off but still a good hotel. Just outside the walled city so very convenient. My friend had breakfast and declared it fine, I just had coffee which was spot on.
"Dirty etc"
18th February 2011, SAINT AYGULF
We got room 228. The bathroom wasvery dirty, even high up on the walls. i tried to take the stains away with water and it was possible! The wash basin was totally blocked; We were offered another room which smelled of smoke! We were offered a third room 216 which was OK.We slept well and we got our breakfast for free as a compensation. The lady in the reception was very polite and efficient.
