"Overnight stop for skiing trip"

Broke the journey on the way to Val Thorens, from Geneva airport. Easy to get to, excellent value for money.

My title pretty much says it all. We expected to get what we paid for in terms of simplicity and minimalism, but what I didn't expect was a bed that was more like a rail-car couchette (firm plasticy stuff, like sleeping on a slightly padded bench) and the red-wine chunky vomit that ran down wall behind the main door. Bath towels that weren't one-ply would have been welcome too. On the plus side, breakfast was cheap and ok.

You know what to expect with etap hotels, simple rooms, budget price loctaed on the outskirts of a city, and generally clean. Not the sort of place you want to sit around all day but if you are on business or intend sightseeing around the area then it's fine
