"Never a problem here"

Stayed here several times when taking the early morning ferry. Never any problems. Lovely people on reception. Restaurants nearby, Flunch etc 5 minutes away.

Rather tired Etap hotel. we did not think it was worth the price. Only had two very small towels for three people.location of hotel did not offer attractive places to eat close by.

Excellent, small hotel which is part of a large group. All one needs for access to the port when travelling to/from Caen. Rooms recently redecorated.

The hotel was in the process of refurbishment . We stayed two nights at the hotel, one on the outward journey and one on the return. On the outward journey we were given one of the refurbished rooms. The decor was much fresher and cleaner but we discovered that the toilet would not flush. On reporting this at reception we were told that nothing could be done, we could not change rooms as the hotel was full. We asked if we could use the WC in reception but we were told that the workmen had been using it all day and it was not clean. We ended up using the waste paper bin full; of water to flush the toilet. The attitude of the receptionist was not all that helpful. The stay on the return journey was a little better. We were given one of the 'disabled use ' rooms which had not been refurbished and the decor was 'tired ' to say the least. It was however an improvement as the toilet flushed ! I am sure the hotel rooms will improve after the refurbishment but I would like to know why no one checked that all the facilities in the room ie the toilet were working before occupation? If the hotel was in the process of refurbishment and there could be some inconvenience to customers why was this not mentioned on the website? Furthermore if the workmen had been using the WC in reception why had it not been cleaned. We normally do not have a problem with Etap hotels and find them good value but .......!!!! In its current state I would not recommend the hotel to a friend.

Stayed with our teenager daughter for 2 nights - hotel was quiet, staff friendly. There was a problem with the hot water system one night but it was fixed next day. Quiet location but only 2 minutes to shopping / eating (Carrefour & Flunch).
"Overnight Ferry stop"

This is the 4th time we have used this ETAP for an overnights top en-route to catch the 0830 ferry to Portsmouth. It is very convenient although a nightmare to actually get to even after you can see it! The location is quiet and ideal and the rooms ideal for what is needed. An insecure shower fitting in one room should have been sorted and the second room smelt heavily of smoke which was avoidable and unacceptable. That said i would use it again and recommend others to it.

Did not book breakfast so service was irrelevant to our stay. Nice and clean. Had some trouble entering with pre-booked credit card. Read ALL the screen instructions before acting!! Well placed for the Caen ferry. Bed a bit hard for my aching bones and I abhor shower curtains. We will use this Etap again and we have already recommended to a fellow ferry traveller.

I have stayed in many ETAP and IBIS hotels this one was dirty and smelled of body odour. This is the only ACCOR hotel I have had cause to complain about and I appear to have been bitten by bed bugs. The location is good for Carrefour and the Portsmouth ferry

if you are coming to Caen to visit the sites, do not stay here, it's way outside the city. Which is the opposite of whatbthe representative of Accor told me, it was really a waste of my time to be here, got to see and do nothing.

Ideal overnight stop when using the local cross channel ferries . Late night arrival can be a problem using card access system but day time arrival using receptionist is ok .Basic facilities, but good value when using early booking discount scheme . All rooms on suite .

Im from uk i can say that everything was perfect.. the kids were really happy... the staff were friendly... the room were cleaned.. a really good location just 5 minutes to the beach... would really come back again..

Room smelt slightly of cigarette smoke, otherwise all was fine. Typical example of Etap Hotel, good value for money. Handy for Caen ferry, and close to supermarket. Location well signed. Would stay there again.

Had to stay at hotel for one night and could'nt fault it, though I did have a problem finding it due to being a solo traveller with no satnav. Staff were helpfull and the room was very clean. There was a nice restaurant within 100 metres.

We stayed here on the night before our ferry. The hotel is well positioned for the ferry port. The only bad point was the shower. the shower head wasn't adjustable and hit the wall abover my husband's head, I'm only 5ft so didn't stand a chance. If you lean against the wall you can get wet! Also, the water went straight over the edge of the shower tray so the floor got a wash too. All in all it was a small irritation as the hotel is good value for money and close to the port.

If you are travelling to the south west of France as we do and you arrive on the late evening ferry from the UK this is the most ideally situated hotel at which to stop for the night. You rise in the morning at your leisure, suitably refreshed and ready for the trip south in daylight and hopefully sunshine.Yoy can avail yourself of a good breakfast before getting on your way and all at a very reasonable price. Good value for money.

Ideal stop over when requiring early arrival at the Ferry Port. Local availability of large shopping malls, bars and restaurants makes a return visit highly likely.
