"worst night's sleep ever!"
19th September 2011, Strasbourg, France
The room was clean but that was the only good thing about our whole stay! The door was broken which made it hard to get in and out of the room. The air conditioning was sooo terrible that the room wouldn't cool down at all, and if you opened the windows (which cooled the room much better) you got dirt, noise and mosquitos. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and creaked every time you even moved a fraction. And then the bathroom which tiny but no thought was so ever was put into how it was designed. The shower was so small that you couldn't bend over to wash yourself without bumping the controls that turned the water on and off. Then because the exhaust fan was directly above the shower curtain it was blown into you all the time so you are constantly trying to bend over without stopping the water and peeling the stupid shower curtain off yourself and in the meantime you were also covering the floor with water! This would have been the worst night's sleep we've ever had and that's saying something as we're are frequent campers! We stayed at the Etap in Nice only a few days earlier and had a wonderful experience and expected something similar in Marseille but we were soo wrong.
"Great value for money"
20th May 2011
A bit out of the way, hidden behind a petrol station. Staff were very friendly & professional. Room very tiny & compact but modern & clean, but lacked wardrobe/cupboard space. Fantastic value for money so can't argue with that.
"Worse E-tap we have stayed in!"
17th February 2011, Christchurch
This hotel is undergoing a renovation and I am guessing it will resemble the new generation E-taps when complete.Currently though it is old and tired and well in truly requires the upgrade. We stayed in a number of E-taps and Ibis on our trip in Europe, and though they are cheap, they are normally clean and tidy. This one happened to be the most expensive that we stayed at, and had cigarette burns in the bed cover and in the bathroom vanity unit. The hotel stunk of smoke, even though it is meant to be non smoking, and the staff seemed powerless to do anything about the guests that where obviously flouting the rules.I think we will be looking elsewhere for accommodation next time.
