"Always nice!"

When we travel from Denmark to the south of France this hotel is excellent placed for us for our night. It is always clean, and everything is fine. It is also always very nice to come down for breakfast and - normally - meat the same very sweet lady, who now after more than 20 stays knows us and greets us very kindly!

"Cheap and cheerful"

Very low cost accommodation with absolutely no frills - but at €40 what do you expect. Room was clean and well presented with lower large double and upper single bunk. Wash hand basin in room, composite shower and toilet cubicle built into room.Bed was very creaky as was shower cubicle and moving around quietly was impossible. Room window could be left open for ventilation with an anti-intruder catch but could not be fastened leading to the window rattling in the wind and disturbed sleep. Air conditioning was good but lack of fresh air was a disappointment.Good shower with plenty of hot water. Soap provided, no shampoo. No tea or coffee making facility and no easy way of getting hot water for flask - although this could be obtained from breakfast coffee machine in small quantities.Breakfast very basic - €4.95 no meats or cheese, no croisant, just sweet muesli or a chocolate cereal, selection of breads, jam and marmalade.Reception is unmanned after 21:00 and it is VERY EASY TO LOCK YOURSELF OUT OF THIS HOTEL IF YOU FORGET YOUR DOOR CODE - there is no emergency call button or phone for staff and although caution notices are posted, this would be little comfort if locked out late at night in the winter.Reasonably fast and free internet connection. Overall reasonable value if you accept the very limited facilities.

Good budget hotel for a business trip to Basel. Clean quiet and friendly. The hotel is located on a main road between residential and a commercial office district. It is a little quiet. If you are travelling without a car be prepared to walk ten minutes to/from the tram/train at Dornach Gare. Also you will need a ten minute walk to find a bar/restaurant. There is a large Cora supermarket which has a restaurant and serves decent food till around 20.00hrs. A Quick burger restaurant is next to the supermarket. These are both west of the hotel. There are vending machines at the hotel. The breakfast was good for the price with good breads and quality butter, and jams etc.I visited both the Schlumpf car collection and the National rail museum (buy a combined ticket 18.50 euro). The rail museum is 5 minutes walk, and the car museum 20 minutes walk from the hotel. Mulhouse itself is worth a visit, and the TER trains get you to Basel in around 20 minutes for around 6.90 euro on way.

This hotel was a disappointment. We arrived after dark to find a loud party going on in the car park – a large group of adults eating and drinking alcohol with children running around and getting in the way of people trying to park.Access to the hotel was via a computer terminal which we weren’t expecting and which took us some time to find and to operate.Our initial impression was one of intimidation and frustration. We felt intimidated by the rowdy party and frustrated at being unable to enter the hotel.Unlike in previous Etap hotels we had used, the room had a combined shower and toilet cubicle which meant wet feet for anyone using the toilet after one of us had showered.The noise from the car park continued past midnight and made sleeping difficult even though we kept the window closed.Breakfast was acceptable, although the area was too cramped for the number of people trying to use it.We will not be staying in Mulhouse again, and this stay lowered our previously good opinion of Etap.
