"Dog Days of Summer"

Our first impression upon entering our room: this place smells like a dog kennel. We notified the front desk rep, who acted as if there was no way this could be true. She went to inspect the room, and upon returning said that the room did not smell of dog. Seconds later, she offered to spray the room with deodorizer, which was conveniently right under her counter. Clearly, we were not the first guests to have olfactory issues. Other than that, and the large spider webs we later noticed when climbing into the bed (the webs were under the upper bunk bed), this hotel is simply sub-par for the Etap chain. I was disappointed and would not stay here again. That's an important point since I've stayed at around 20 different Etaps throughout France. Hope they are able to turn things around, since the location is the best thing about the hotel.
