"Perfect location"

The location is ideal, the lobby area pleasant but we were disappointed with the bathrooms that had wallpaper coming away and looked in need of renovation. Additionally both non-smoking bedrooms had a distinct smell of smoke.

The hotel is slap bang next to the Gare de Lyon which makes it perfect for an overnight between the Eurostar and TGV going south. It's clean, comfortable and quiet with everything up to the usual Mercure standard One minor complaint, churlish really, but we were 'upgraded' to a Priority room which, instead of an old-fashioned kettle has a ridiculously complicated coffee machine that spews out cold coffee. Shame really, because everything else was pretty well perfect.

"Great Find"

Great place to stay if catching train for Club Meb French resorts. We had to stay near the Gar de Lyon - what a find - we were right next door to the station. Perfect location for us as had to catch a train from there very early in th emoring so did not have to worry about taxi's etc. Same for when we came back into the station. The taxi line was about a two hour wait in -6 and all we had to do was walk 20 meters to the door of the hotel! two hours later we were tucked up and nice and warm rather than waiting for a taxi!!

"Paris in August, 2011"

Very good situation when traveling to Paris from Switzerland. The reception is easy to reach and the room are small but comfortable enough. The wifi access is welcomed and should be on for the all stay without having to restart every 6 hours.

Staff not Very helpful during emergencies. we were stuck in paris due to wrong date bookings, but staff didnt helped us to recover from that situation. neither were they supportive in cancellation of the rooms which were booked by mistake.

"The perfect location for an early start from Gare de Lyon"

The most convenient hotel for a late arrival at, or an early start from, Gare de Lyon. Comfortable , quiet rooms and sufficient facilities in the hotel itself. There is also a wide range of restaurants nearby, and connections via Metro, RER, buses etc. to other places in Paris are no problem (I combined it with a return trip to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport via RER B ansd then either A or D). One suggestion: for catching an early train, b'fast service should start before 6:30am.

Location wise the hotel is situated in a very good place and it is quite central. The hotel looked elegant . It was quite nice to stay for us. Breakfast verity was good too. I ordered dinner one night. I thought it could've been better.

there were people slamming doors on our floor from 3-4:30 AM. The person working on the front desk spoke no Engish at all. as a result of this experience, i would not go to another Mercure hotel and would not recommend it to others.

no airconditioning, the system provided heat only. As it was only heating it was hot in the room, which meant I had to have the window open...and the hotel was next to the station...apart from that the hotel is well situated if you need to get an early train.

We chose this hotel for it's connections (train, car and metro) and the vicinity of Place de la Bastille. Staff was friendly and hospitable. Room, bed and bathroom were of good quality. For the rate I expected somewhat more space. For us it was only to have a good sleep and shower, which we did. One thing to consider: when having the window open in a room at the backside of the hotel you have the train station sounds coming in early in the morning and late at night.

A steep rate, but location for train travel is excellent!! Elevators are slow because they are not programmed to move people efficiently. I definitely recommend for those needing to catch an early TGV or any other train. Quality hotel without question.
