We stayed here for 2 nights and overall very happy with the hotel. Service was excellent and the rooms are comfortable and clean. We will stay at this hotel again

We have stayed often at this hotel and find it very pleasant, clean and quiet as well as being handy to most things. Cost wise is it reasonable value for money especially if you are an AdvantagePlus member.The parking aspect is rather annoying tho - always having to pay for parking, but we are usually lucky and find 'free' parking somewhere nearby. Showercaps are not supplied in the bathrooms either which I have mentioned before but usually get told by the hotel its because they are a 'green' hotel and of course plastic takes a while to break down as we know. Funnily enough tho we have recently stayed in Novotel Hotels in Hong Kong and Beijing and both those hotels profess to being 'green' also yet provide showercaps plus many more bathroom supplies. We also had an odd trivial amount of $1.24 owing show up on our account when leaving. This was rather strange seeing the accommodation was booked online and paid in full and we did not eat at all at the hotel nor use the minibar. The reception staff were at a loss to explain where the amount came from. I am still waiting for an explanation as it seems a little strange. Anyway apart from that I recommend this hotel and have no complaints. If you want somewhere very comfortable, handy and pleasant this is definitely a place to consider.

All Novotels have standard amenities in their rooms, but deluxe rooms come with a wider variety; this was possibly the case in Hong Kong. Excellet room and service - great view over the river and city. Breakfasts were great - easy to have a healthy breakfast. Decided to dine in the restraunt and had an excellent dinner - onlly issue was that some of the wines on the wine list were not available. Top location - highly recommended

As always, my stay at Novotel in Hamilton has been a pleasureable experience, with the quality of the rooms, service and food remaining very high.I would recommend a stay in this great establishment, and with it being right in the middle of town and on the rivers edge, it offers the best of both worlds for the weary traveller or those looking for shopping and cafes, and the casino of course.

Have no problem with Hotel facilities but has been issues with my bookings like - no record at the front desk when I clearly had a booking and recieved email reminders they knew I was coming. Also lost a pile of A-Club points due to my inattention as they said my new card was linked from my old card on their records.

The only complaint with this hotel is the inadequate gym it has. As a business traveller a gym is important to me & this hotel's gym is too small, old equipment (bike is rusty), not enough cardio equipment, no swiss balls & no free standing weights.Get into the 21st Century with fitness facilities!!

Due to poor weather to the north, we changed our itinerary and headed into Hamilton. Waitomo caves were close, so decided to stay for a couple of nights. Novotel was the best location for access to restaurant choices in downtown area. Stayed on the river side of hotel, so nice and quiet. Room was a bit small, with a lack of surfaces to be able to put items down on. However, the room was clean and made up well each day. Staff were friendly and accommodating with enquiries. Do take advantage of the valet parking for the extra $5, as the casino is half a block away and parking is in big demand. Comparable to a European hotel. Would stay again in Hamilton.

We always enjoy a night at Tainui, rooms are good, so handy to town within walking distance to shops, the restaurant was good excellent service and food is great.It was great being able to park outside and have the car parked for us and collected again the morning without the hassle of having to park it ourselves.

We stayed here for the one night and it was very comfortable. The place was very easy to find and was within walking distance of the main area of Hamilton.We had to be away early but still wanted to have breakfast and it was no problem to arrive alittle early than their scheduled starting time. Checking in could have been alittle easier but checking out was very quick and easy. Would stay here again.

Have stayed Tainui before and been really thrilled with room. This time round the tile grouting on shower wall looked grubby however overall cleanliness of room was great. Most comfortable beds out there! Staff are very efficient and helpful. Breakfast is always great value.

Even though I had booked, reserved and confirmed a month in advance my room was not available an myself and my wife had to have a room with individual beds. Staff was fairly indifferent about it and could not/would not resolve the issue. Would not stay at Novotel again if I could help it.Also nternet in the lobby is unbelievably slow. Couldn't load hotmail in the allocated 20 minute time window.

We were really well looked after and were sorry that the hotel could not accommodate us for our second night in Hamilton. Slightly shaky start with a room fridge that was not cold quickly became irrelevant as the stay continued with excellent friendly service, the most comfortable beds and an amazing breakfast. Well worth every penny.

As always fantastic room, service etc - Accor Hotels are always consistent. I was amazed at the $20 overnight charge for valet parking, especially when outside the hotel (easy reach to the street) is used as well as underneath. Also $100 a day plus a valet was put on my Visa card when I arrived 'in case' for incidentals (cancelled when I left), and 1.5% charge for use of my card.

The Novotel Hamilton Tainui is the place to stay when in Hamilton, New Zealand. Nice hotel, good location. Only criticism was that checking out took longer than it should on account of having to provide a copy of the booking receipt to reception staff to prove that breakfasts had been pre-booked and paid for to avoid having to pay for them again. Pretty frustrating, given that the issue had been discussed and settled on the first night of our stay, not sure why the account was not updated at the time to avoid us having the same discussion during checkout.

Pleasantly surprised with upgrade to Executive Suite on arrival. Top floor Suite well positioned and private. Spacious, modern decor/facilities with outstanding views. Immaculate, spacious bathroom with spa. Room service and food superb. Super friendly, professional, and efficient staff who also presented as "real people". Best central location in Hamilton. I stayed at this hotel with my 2 daughters aged 15yrs & 17yrs for a girls night away. The service we received was fabulous, We were upgraded ro a deluxe room on arrival which was large and able to fit a rollaway bed so my daughters didn't have to share a bed. The location was superb, several restaurants were opposite the hotel and shopping and cafes just a few metres away. We had a lovely cooked breakfast the next morning and I cannot fault the service we received during our stay, everyone was so helpful and polite. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our stay was generally really good, our room was lovely. I still feel that parking should be included in room price OR that it should be a per stay price as apposed to a daily rate eg. $20 per stay not per day. It really does effect the overall cost of the stay & it isn't optional if you have a vehicle so i think it's unfair. We were a little disappointed with the service in the restaurant, we arrived at 6 for dinner (having somewhere to be that evening) & it took 45 mins to get our meals! I was also surprised by the fact that we couldn't ask for poached eggs etc during the buffet breakfast, which you can at other Accor hotels & we had to ask for coffee cups, couldn't find breakfast bowls, the service wasn't great
