"ibis sydney good local below par hotel for the accor group"

I have stayed in many accor hotels but this one though location is excellent the rooms were grubby and noisey. I had to turn the fridge off. The toilet flushed by itself all night. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and outside street and other room noise more than we should expect now from a modern hotel chain.

This hotel is in an amazing location in SydneyThe service was lovely, we got help for every question we asked.Can't tell you about the food as we didn't eat there.The room was a lot more spacious than I expected. I don't think we would have stayed there if we didn't get such an awesome deal through AccorAdvantagePlus though as it is usually very expensive.Parking is an ok price for an overnight stay in Sydney.The best thing I liked about the hotel was it's location, it was easy to get into and out of by car, and there is lots to do within walking distance.

Staff were helpful in fixing things such as adjusting the air conditioning and this made are stay that little bit more enjoyable.

"Not usual Ibis"

Not up to normal Ibis standards, maintenance work was being done but service a bit poor and room to stuffie as airconditioner not working. Not hotels fault but lots of ambient noise from the street even though we were on 10 floor.

"Excellent stay at Ibis"

Arrived early morning after flt from London and were allowed early check in to room on higher floor as requested. Staff helpful, friendly and room very clean and quiet. Location is superb, easy walk to Darling Harbour, Central Station, monorail and free city shuttle bus. Room a bit on the small side but more than adequate, we stayed there for 17 nights and had no problem. Having read some negative reviews about this hotel I was apprehensive but it was excellent, the price and location excellent.

"Great location, average breakfast"

The room and the bathroom were clean but the room was very noisy in the nights because it was next to a night club and on friday and saturday's nights the noise did not let us sleep properly. I travelled with my child and I supposed we could have a better room in the hotel to avoid that situation. Great location.

"One night at the Ibis"

Very happy with the room...as I had booked it a long time in advance I paid a reasonable rate for it. However located in a very noisy part of the City....I slept ok but others might be kept awake with the noise. Staff very helpfull. Storage lockers in the basement ($7 per day) were good value.

Absolutely perfect for me ...up early away all day...comfortable bed...even though it is very central I was on a floor high enough to avoid big city noise...I have stayed here before...and would stay again if rates were suitable....staff more than helpful..something that isnt always obvious these days...not their fault...but pressures of our world....Thanks Ibis...as usual always good

We stayed at this hotel due to value for money and location close to China Town and it was our anniversary. On arrival given room 812 upon entering small but clean room however fridge water had leaked onto the carpet and the room air conditioner did not work it was fan only operation. However went out to celebrate anniversary upon return mentioned these two issues to the clerk and duty manager who were wonderful a credit to the accor brand immediately upgraded us and offered a comp bottle of wine, those two made our stay memorable, if considering staying at this hotel go for the deluxe rooms on the higher floors no street noise and adequate space overall I would recommend this hotel and stay again

Great location in the heart of Sydney CBD. For a night out in the city or a business trip - this place is simply great. Many restaurants, clubs within the walking distance. Excellent customer service- especially the person (Jorge) at the reception checked us in was very friendly. Clean hotel, comfortable beds, air con was working, staff were very helpful. will definitely stay there again.....

"Overnight stop"

Stayed at the Ibis as it was the cheapest central city hotel I could find. I wanted a clean bed after a wedding. My room was on the first floor and you could hear the drunk revellers in the street. The air conditioning was also noisy. I had a good sleep as I had earplugs (essential.) There is no in room dining and tea and coffee facilities were very basic. The bathroom is a wet room. This is a good hotel for one night stop over when you just need a cheep place to sleep for the night.

"Ibis Pitt Street Sydney"

I stayed 5 nights. I found a 'deal' pay 4 stay 5. The location is excellent, my room required a repair during my stay, I left the fault card at reception and it was repared by the time I came back in the afternoon. I would stay again

I stayed at the Ibis while my mother had and operation. While the rooms were on the small side they were clean and tidy. the hotel was close to the shops. the staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

"3 nights at Ibis"

The rooms are small but the location was great. I cannot speak highly enough of the excellent service from the reception, breakfast and cleaning staff. They were always friendly and very helpful, going well above the level I would have expected as normal. The bad weather caused some ceiling water leakage on our floor but it was in the hallway and caused no inconvenience to us and was addressed quickly. I would happily stay there again.

We were first put in a tiny room with hardly any space to move. Later, the same day they moved us to a larger (deluxe) room. The bed was confi. and fairly clean. But the armchair definitely needs replacement. Carpets and walls need a regular clean up. The worst was the toilets in both the rooms. The shower area was dirty with soap scum. In the Deluxe room the shower head was swinging on a clip held together with a cable tie. If they can clean the place up a little I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend as it is in a great location when on a short visit to Sydney.

inexpensive, clean pla.de to stay in ceentral locationHotel breakfast is quite good value in a cheery lighted room. I would liked a more streamlined approach to connecting movies and maybe having a fully stocked bar fridge. I felt the congestion at tnhe front desk when I was atrriving and departing a little irritating. As to hpow this can be bettered I can't say since the reception area is quite small. Still, staff are cheerful and helpful so it is a minor quibbloe

From the outside it seems to be a nondescript business building with the immediate surounding shops somewhat shabby, although it is across the road from the very smart World Square.I was greeted with warmth at the front desk and my introduction to the hotel was very good. The room was more than adequate and equates with the normal Ibis room standard. It was quite functional with good size LCD TV, tea/coffee making facilities and cable access to internet if needed. I had a high floor room and no street noise was evident.Also as the building is narrow and tall there are only a few rooms to each floor, so passing corridor traffic and potential noise is minimal.Although breakfast is advertised, I did not know or realise that a co-owned/managed hotel is adjacent where all other meals can also be obtained.I would be most happy to stay again for the reasonable room price, and utmost central convenience for downtown Sydney - either walking or using public transport.

"Decent hotel, convenient location, good price"

Ibis World Square isn't flash but it is a clean and comfortable, no frills place with friendly staff. The real plus is being really close to good public transport, the centre of Sydney and a really good choice of restaurants and casual cafes all at a very reasonable price.

"No Internet Available!!"

I called this hotel two nights before my arrival asking if internet access was available. I was assured that it was, however at 1:30am when I required internet access to send off a proposal, I found that the internet in my room did not work. Reception advised that they had one other room on another floor that I could use for a couple of hours for the internet. I packed my laptop and headed down, collected the new card for access to the room, and then headed back up to the (new) room. Once I got there, I realised that the internet cable in that room was also broken. I called admin who came up and could not fix it. When I asked how I would be able to access the internet to send my document, he said there were no other free rooms to use, and suggested that I (in my PJ's, with laptop in hand at almost 2am) walk down a few streets to the internet cafe.ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?!
