ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 3.0 out of 5 stars "1 Night - Ibis Holloway Circus"

Excellently centrally situated economy style chain hotel. On site free car park. Superb friendly professional staff.

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Central for anything you need to do"

16th May 2012, cazzawald, Wellingborough, United Kingdom

This hotel is only a few stars but you get the location that is perfect for anything you are doing in central birmingham, not many close pubs or restaurants but Broad Street is only 13 minutes walk, and shopping centre is only 13 minutes walk. The actual rooms are a bit dated but clean, but the gated access is nice to have. Have used this hotel twice and using it again several more times this year. Perfect for up to couple of nights stay but would not stay longer than that

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 3.0 out of 5 stars "great location"

4th May 2012, Mark355, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Good parking, very convenient, realistic price, Internet charge is high, I had "do not disturb" sign on doorknob, but room was made up anyway. Sink would not drain unless I removed the "plunger", so I removed it but it was back in place when I returned to the made up room. Sticking your hands in murky water to remove again is not a fun pastime. When I went to front desk next morning to report the problem of the drain plunger that would not lift, no one was anywhere around...Convenient location, though..

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Bargain value in Birmingham city centre"

30th April 2012, Archie3033, South Brent, Devon

For a really quiet place to stay at low cost, consider this Ibis hotel within a ten minute walk of New Street station. Plenty of nearby restaurants for an evening meal, while a good Ibis breakfast is availbale in the morning.

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Good stay"

10th April 2012

It's good price- quality. Good to sleep, have a shower , breakfast and spend the day away. It's a quiet place. The breakfast is OK ( not the scrumbled eggs). The service is good. They come to the room when the heater didn't work. But there was not warm water at 6 o'clock in the morning.

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Overnight Stay"

1st April 2012, Nottingham, United Kingdom

Good location for a night out in Birmingham. As I had to drive to Birmingham the secure free car park is fantastic. Have stayed here a few times and staff always friendly and helpful. Not the most luxurious hotel in the portfolio but excellent value.

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 3.0 out of 5 stars "birmingham hotels"

29th February 2012, Leeds, United Kingdom

the rooms have a very amewrican apartment type feel ... a bit of a change from the normthe walls are a bit thin ... so you can hear what is going on next dooreverything was on a budget ... even down to the plastic spoons for the tea and coffee ... i do expect to see metal cutlerylocation for us was just right not too far away for us and the venue we were working at.. the room itself really warrent to be a double room not a twin ... so as a couple if would be better ... i also say that the breakfast times are good .. especially when you have early starts but the selection needs to be improved ... especially for vegiterians ... no mushrooms/hash browns or a vegi sausage option ...

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 3.0 out of 5 stars "One night only..."

23rd February 2012, Chesterfield, United Kingdom

Arriving at the hotel, once I found it, my check-in was processed swiftly and with zero-fuss. The room was as expected, nothing spectacular but it was very clean and well-looked after. Tea and Coffee making facilities were more than adequate and, unlike past hotels I have stayed in, everything from the heater to the bathroom fan worked as they should. Aside from the poor / nonexistent sineage, which led to me constantly referring to Google maps on my smartphone, the only real issue I had with the hotel was the price. It seemed a tad steep for one person for one night. That said, I managed an excellent night's sleep in the well-made and comfortable bed and, despite close proximity to a main road and the city-centre, was not disturbed or kept awake by external noise. The breakfast was excellent with a reasonable choice of hot and cold food as well as a good range of drinks - a vast improvement on the last Ibis I stayed at! All in all, the hotel was clean and the service was excellent - I still feel it was a little pricey (£56 for the room and £7.50 for breakfast) for what it was but not by too much.

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Well located budget hotel"

17th February 2012, SleepyMidlands, Midlands

Good value budget hotel. Rooms are small but clean. Well located close to city cerntre with a good car park. Not too keen on the plastic 'glasses' which you have to unrap very carefully as they tend to split. Plenty of tea and coffee provided

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 5.0 out of 5 stars "cheap and chearfull"

27th January 2012, Birmingham, United Kingdom

secure car park, nice private clean rooms, at a cheap price, and free parking. The only draw back is the bright lights outside on the communal walkway, which meant me using every item of our clothing to cover the gaps inside. They are not needed, please Ibis get rid of them

Management responseMany Thanks for sharing your feedback via Tripadvisor.I am very pleased to read that you have enjoyed your stay at ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus. Please note due to the hotel layout, external corridors do need lighting during night time due to Health and Safety reasons - We are currently looking at ways of improving this.Once again I thank you for your comments and look forward to welcome you at the hotel in the near future.Kind Regards,Jordi PenaGeneral Manager

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Visit to Birmingham Holloway Circus Ibis"

26th January 2012, Edinburgh, United Kingdom

A very good value, clean and well presented hotel facility.I consider that it would be of benefit to consider ensuring that online access is available independent of the tv package and at a realistic (nominal) cost. The current cost of £10 is a relatively high % of the nightly cost and patrons who may only wish to go online to check information or directions will not as a matter of principle use such an expensive service

View management response »

Management responseMany thanks for sharing your thoughts in regard to your stay at the hotel via Tripadvisor. For future reference, we do have several internet packages available through our pay TV system in addition to the Wi-Fi packages provided by and external supplier. There is also a public internet access point at the reception lobby at the cost of £1 for 20 min.I look forward to welcome you again at the hotel in your next trip to Birmingham.Kind Regards,Jordi PenaGeneral Manager

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Cheap but not much sleep"

25th January 2012, Tiverton, United Kingdom

I booked early and took advantage of the discount deal, this reflected in the hotel. Manager and staff 1st class, high fences and locking gate gave good secuity. Cloes to centre and shops etc. Room clean and basic a little care worn. Bed firm and creaked badly, radiator timer ticked away merrily.Chalet type rooms are lit by very bright lights outside of window, like sleeping with a light on, other guest came and went up till midnight. guest could be heard if wearing heeels above and outside of room. Breakfast adquate but scrabbled egg watery and bacon cold without flavour. All you can eat fine if food is good. The baked potato I had early one night around 6-00 pm was made immediately bt the helpfull staff, liked the olive oil on the salad nicr touch. Overall you get what you pay for not worth staying more than a couple of nights. I would recommend this hotel solely on convenience to city and price.

6th January 2012, Jass_V, London, United Kingdom

Me and my friends stayed at this hotel. Apon arrived we asked if we can have our rooms next to each other. With limited staff during new years the receptionist Nick was also the chef! He did a good job looking after us professionally. Hotel is very close to clubs (such as broad street), shops etc.

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Business Stay"

7th October 2011, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

Hotel is tired and in need of a refit. Breakfast was dreadful and not worth the money. On the upside location is near to the New Street Station and the Bull Ring and also Broad Street for bars and restaurants.

Management responseThanks for taking the time to write a review. I am very dissapointed that you did not fully enjoy your experience at ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus. Whilst a reduced number of rooms at the hotel are due to light refurb within the next 12 months and the current design of these rooms might not be the new ibis design, rooms are kept to a high standard and cleanliness.I am surprised you found our breakfast buffet to be dreadful, some other guests sharing their experience in this very same website do comment that it is of a good standard, so if there was any specific that you would like to share with me, please do not hesitate to contact me at the hotel.Once again I thank you for your feedback hoping we'll have the pleasure to welcome you soon to ibis Hotels again.Kind Regards,Jordi PenaGeneral Manager

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Weekend in Birmingham"

21st September 2011, Aldersbarnboy, Redditch

We always stay at the Ibis Holloway Circus when we go to see a show in Birmingham so that we can enjoy the night life after the show and hit the shops the following day. The Ibis serves our needs very well and the price includes parking until 5.30pm on the day of checkout! Excellent value. I always book early and I never pay more tan £45 for a room; I've already booked a Friday night for November for less than £28!!The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and you can walk into theatre land in under 15 minutes and into town in less than 20 minutes; new Street Station is about 15 minutes walk.

ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Budget Hotel"

1st September 2011, Tonbridge

Good location for walking to city centre and canals. Car parking secure-entry by security gate.Predestrian gate open during the day but secure at night with intercom entry. Breakfast not bad considering what you are paying. Room decor needs to be updated as begining to show its age. A lick of paint to brighten up the room and new carpets would help.Pillows could be a bit bigger and more substancial. Only one towel per person -bigger than a hand towel but smaller than a bath towel.Hotel and street noise was quite over the weekend. Two rows of rooms, one facing street, the either facing inside. Would recommend the inside facing rooms. Its what you would expect from a budget hotel, not fancy but adequate for a couple of nights.

Did not stay because rooms offered were double not twin beds . Relocated to Ibis City which was very satisfactoryAlthough in the end we did not stay at the Holloway Circus what we saw of the fascilitieswas that they were way below that of the City

Management responseI would like to thank you for your feedback regarding your online reservation experience at ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus. Please note that we do have a good number of twin rooms available at the hotel. Should you require one of these; it needs to be communicated to the hotel prior to arrival, otherwise we cannot guarantee availability. Currently guests are not able to book twin rooms online but only doubles (single or double occupancy).I am pleased to learn that my team could find alternative arrangements up to your expectations. In regard to the hotel facilities I would like to confirm that although we do not have the latest public area design in the market, our facilities match those of ibis Birmingham city centre with the addition of complimentary car park, which is rarely seen in a busy city centre hotel such us.Once again thanks for your feedback and I look forward to welcome you at ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus in your next trip to Birmingham.Kind Regards,Jordi PeñaGeneral Manager
