"Great basic no-frills hotel"

Have stayed at Ibis Birmingham Holloway Circus three times now, and on each occasion I found the hotel to be clean, the staff to be polite and the services to be excellent for a basic stay. There are no frivolous extras, but the standard of what is provided is great, and parking (though now £3 a day on top of the booking charge) is very convenient.I'd recommend this hotel, great for the price and in an excellent location.View management response »

"No longer budget and quality."

My advice choose the Ramada Encore around the corner. 100% better value. My room had a blocked sink and the corner of the room had a rotten/damp patch.The rooms are very dated .... although the beds looked newish the rest of the firnishings were probably the ones that were fitted 15 plus years ago.The chalet Butlins style apartments from the's have concerete walkways which when stilettoed hags walk along on rattle with the sound of concorde taking off hindering sleep.I regret staying there ... and my complaints were almost sighed at. Not value at all and wonder whether i will bother with the Accor chain again.View management response »

"great location, rubbish service"

There aren't enough plug sockets in the room. There is literally 1 that the TV plugs into, and 1 right near the skirting boards so you have to put the kettle on on the floor(!)Our phone didnt work so we couldnt call reception. They didn't sort that out during out 2 night / 3 day stay!Not all the food on the menu was available!!View management response »

"Short break in Birmingham"

stayed here for a few days to watch cricket at nearby Edgbaston (10 mins by bus) Hotel is handy for town centre and New Street station. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Nice breakfast. Rooms were fairly large and kept nice and clean.View management response »

"OK for a one-night stay (just !)"

The location was good for the city centre but the hotel is surrounded by a 15 foot fence, safe for car-parking but I felt I was in a prison block.Some rooms are two stories high with steep steps which make it difficult to bring up your luggage, no air-conditioning (which many Ibis hotels do have) and as it was a stuffy night I had to sleep with the window open which meant lots of street noise right into the early hours of the morning. "Clean & Good value for money"

All Ibis hotels are very similay in their rooms and fittings, and their food selection which is basic but adiquit for the holiday maker. Remember, you get what you pay for, so if you want 5 star meals and dinning facilities, then stay at either Mecure, Novotel OR Sofitel, all of which are Accor properties.Ibis is excelent value for money.View management response »

"Friendly staff and budget base"

Good budget base for central Birmingham and Mailbox area. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. A bit tricky to locate so drive carefully! Note that this hotel now charges for parking so the room rate is not the only price to pay.View management response »

Brilliant location for us as we were in Birmingham to see Alannis Morissette at the O2 Academy, less than 5 minutes walk to the main door for the venue.We booked in advance, so got a good rate and also paid for breakfast on arrival, which was cheaper than advertised.Hotel is clean and tidy, staff very helpful and bar prices cheaper than in the O2 Academy.We will definitely use this place again when we come back to the O2 Academy.View management response »
