"Good place, bad service"

I stayed here before, great location close to city center. Clean and useful but... service was terrible did not honored the advertised policy that solve all problems... we booked a hotel with a child's bed and when we arrive they did not had the bed and said, well this is not our problem...

About 10-15 mins walk from train station so quite convenient. Right next to Bayer CHempark as well so the views aren't great but very decent service from all members of staff and unlike other IBIS hotels the bar actually was open (one of the IBIS hotels in Koeln itself should take note...)
"Bad Hair Day Hotel"

The hotel was pretty abysmal as it wasted my time as this stupid site has done by loosing all my carefully typed [relevant] comments... 1) Spent over quarter hour waiting to check in as hotel had fouled up two previous checks ins and swaped them & pricing over, but no appology/recompence.2) The low ceiling in the attic room ensured a number of painful head impacts over the weekend,3) The 07-00 alarm call requested for Saturday came on Sunday morning ruining a lie in and making me late the previous day to boot...with no applogy for either shortcoming...4) The poorly laid out room, where a single bed had replaced two twins, left the main light switch behind the pillow - so head movement in the night operated this switch without warning.5) The two fixed "bedside" lights we so close togther you could hit one with your head if you turned over quickly in the night ...6) Cigarette smoke driited up the stairs from the first floor smoking area to this non-smoking room via the magentically held open fire/smoke [sic[ doors.
